R.I.P. Mr. Bubba Walker, my great uncle who I never got a chance to meet because he was murdered by a rogue sheriff who tried to frame him for murdering the town clerk. My grandmother & great aunt died never knowing the Sheriff was convicted of the crime because they had to leave town abruptly out of fear of retaliation from the town white people. So to anybody saying you could never move forward if we keep looking back has never been victimized. My great uncle never married or had children so amen he was murdered it completely removed his existence. I am descended from a slave whose last name was Middleton. My ancestors lived and worked on the Middleton plantation. By doing a DNA test I’ve found not only my African heritage ( mostly Nigerian) ; but also European ( English and Scottish) I have to imagine that part came from the slave owners. I will never know who was my great great grandfather. As a result I am very light skinned.
