@dominikakalinowska7 ай бұрын
Hi, many thanks for watching :) It does not have to be, BPS is just one of the accreditations available. However, it would be best if it did have this accreditation. I am sure you can find a course, on a masters level that offers this accreditation, just to be safe! because then you can be part of the BPS membership if you decide to continue your psychology journey in any way. I would advise contacting students from universities you are looking at, and possibly lecturers/tutors too to check how your future would look like after such course. Goog luck! :)

Hi Dominika ! I'm so confused please help me... I have done my BS in Applied Psychology now I'm looking forward to do my masters from the UK I have 2 options Msc Psychology at Essex and Msc clinical child psychology at anglia ruskin... Now pls tell me what will i do after the msc ? What will be the scope? What can I do further... Please help me choose one ? 🥺 which one is worth it?
@dominikakalinowska Жыл бұрын
Hi there, both are worth it! However they are both very different. Msc in psychology is giving you a very general psychology perspective. But clinical child psychology is directed into child psychology which is more targeted course. Which one do you feel drawn to the most? Don't think about the university, or the course - where do you see yourself in 5 years? Do you see yourself working with children or maybe the general course would be more beneficial if you don't know what to do yet? Personally I would choose something more general if you are not sure what to do and still searching. But if you already feel like child psychology will give you more value for your future plans, choose that.
@dominikakalinowska Жыл бұрын
I would also consider cities you will be living in, especially if you are coming from abroad. Think about your non negotiables, where do you want to live, do you want to have broader social circle? Want to live close to London? Do you want quiet and peace or busy city? Essex is different to Cambridge too so maybe look at the map and decide where you want to live too. This is a big factor as you will be studying for 1-2years depending on the course and it might affect your decision:)

@dominikakalinowska Жыл бұрын
Hi there, well done on completing your masters! Both masters are worth it, all depends how will you use them. I have completed Consumer Psychology one, and I don't regret. It gave me a lot of knowledge about marketing, consumer behaviour, that I can use everywhere! Health psychology will give you a different set of knowledge, more focused on mind, body, soul and health. It really all depends on what you are interested in more, where do you see yourself in the future :)

I was in the same situation but at the last moment I have decided to go for consumer psychology just because I was drawn more into marketing and business fields (working at the university now), and I felt like it helped me get jobs elsewhere than medical or mental health oriented. But that was my perspective. You might choose something different. Just think long term- which one is more universal for you, what do you feel when thinking about the future, where you want to be? Simply that. Don't overthink your decision and don't regret your choice. Good luck :) I know you will choose well.

There are lots of questions you have to ask yourself. For me, I chose one of the cheapest, so budget was my priority. I didn't mind sharing kitchen and bathrooms so I chosen thoday street shared house accommodation.

Hi, I have Autism and mental health problems and I chose ARU because it was apparently the best for health and well being. However I’ve been hearing horror stories about mean tutors and students not having enough support. Do you have any experience in the support services?
@dominikakalinowska Жыл бұрын
Hey, these stories you hear everywhere, and each student will have a different experience. I did hear a few of them before I joined. Still, because for me it was essential to gain experience on top of education and live in Cambridge, the education bit was not as important. Hence, it is all about your priorities. I had enough support on my psychology course, but each module is run by different tutors and you can't put everyone into one basket. In all organisations, some people are more passionate about what they are doing, and sometimes you find people who want to be paid and be done with the session. It is life and this will happen, we are just humans :)
@dominikakalinowska Жыл бұрын
Regards to mental health support, that is correct. I was myself looking for help when studying, and they can do it in a few ways, so it all depends on individual cases. There are also external organisations that help, and plenty of phone numbers you can call for free like Samaritans or the Mind charity. From what I know there are some local ones but you would have to do research to find them or ask at the university :)

Hi Dominika, Thank you for the video. You gave us a lot of information about the school. So, a couple of days ago I applied ARU for MA Human Resources Management and now i'm in the waiting process. Actually, I'm already a little stressed because of my bad English. I am gonna take the ielts academic but what i fear most is the presentations. I've heard that UK universities have a lot of presentations instead of exams in their master's programmes. I have a question for you.I realized that English is not your mother tongue either. So how did you deal with such situations? Was your English as good in the beginning as it is today? Could you give me some tips to being ready about this tpye of situations. Thanks a lot...
@dominikakalinowska Жыл бұрын
Hi, first of all, take a deep breath. Your English is perfect, you are better than you think you are! English language skills will come to you when you practice, learn, read and speak at loud. They come when you have fun. I did struggle at the beginning but I can guarantee you you will smash it after a few months of practice and living in English speaking country. That is true, we had a few presentations, but they are usually easier to prepare and you know what to expect. I would choose a presentation over an exam any time :D You will do great! Just take it easy. There are so many international students, equally stressed about their English skills. You are all in the same boat x

@dominikakalinowska Жыл бұрын
Hi, all universities has good and bad sides. The decision is only on you. I was satisfied with my course, I lived in Cambridge, experienced different life, worked where I liked working whilst studying, gained additional voluntary experience. It all combined (for me) was worth more than going to the best university with the best reviews. It is all about your priorities, what is important TO YOU. What YOU want to do in the future, and how determined you are to create a life you want. Reviews are just opinions of someone's perspective and experiences, and as we know, the same apple can be sweet for one, and sour for the other person. I would read them, but judge on your own, what else can you get whilst studying here.

Hej! Czy wiesz może, na jakie zarobki można liczyć po ukończeniu psychologii w Anglii?
@dominikakalinowska2 жыл бұрын
@dominikakalinowska2 жыл бұрын
Jeśli włożysz w szukanie dobrej pracy energię, to ją znajdziesz.
