Never download the latest update in first 5 days of its release be it from Nvidia, Apple or Microsoft or Google or any xyz company except the antivirus updates (which you have no control though). These companies OS / App / plugin updates were historically always unstable, rushed to release (to impress their shareholders) and damaged integrated hardware. Yes I am saying this since I owned Windows-95 or iOS 5 and even today I stick to my rule and avoided these costly mistakes. And I work in tech and unfortunately a part of the rush update pusher as well ☹️

I JUST had to replace my entire PCB/CPU/RAM because of a corrupted BIOS. I had a dual BIOS featured motherboard but for some reasons, whether windows wouldn't load or the outputs where not detected. When windows wasn't loading, I tried to reboot it in safe mode but everytimes I pressed F8 it was just shutting down in my face.... So I decided to force it by taking of the CMOS battery, wait few minutes and put it back. It worked and triggered the BIOS menu. I looked into it and the HDD was there, all the slots were there, the version was good, save and exit. I recovered everything from my HDD, worked on my things and put the computer in sleep mode the time I was eating. Came back, nothing was working again. No screen, keyboard, mouse and the power/reset buttons were not detected.... I tried the CMOS battery again but the same thing happened : the computer worked only the time it was opened. So I just shopped for a new motherboard and had to upgrade my CPU and ram because I was still on DDR3 sockets (10 years old veteran computer). I'm kind of sad because it could still run some nice games and I could perfectly use it for work. Got a little slow but nothing really annoying (faster than some games loading screens). 😓 But it's okay...

I think you can even make the repo look like it contains arbitrary files with a URL that specifies a specific commit. As far as I know, everybody can upload commits to your repo. At least that was possible about 5 or 10 years ago. I don't expect that this has changed, but I don't know. I think it was a quite fundamental "limitation" of the architecture from GitHub.

I go on road trips on my motorcycle every year to visit family (mainly through the Sierra Nevada mountains and out of the way areas), a couple of years ago when I made a scheduled overnight stop I was unable to contact family via cell, internet or land line because of the Dixie Fire, my family were a bit concerned that I hadn't let them know I was at my planned location and ok, after that I decided to get a satellite phone. Started with an IsatPhone 2 but didn't like having to run all over because of the mountains blocking the satellite so I switched to the Iridium, works great for what I need and rollover minutes and a local phone number are available on it as well so people can call me with no extra fees.

Windows will do anything to take control of your computer with app locker you can only use there Programs and I you try to install Linux you can't because they lock the hard drive with it so have fun
