This exact device was used throughout the 80's, 90's and possibly 2000's by my dad, grandpa, and aunt. And now is used as decoration at my grandparents house. My dad claims it still works, but it has been rotting in the same position for years so i kinda doubt that. I had been thinking of searching for this device for a while now, and today was the day i searched for it and was releived to find it everywhere on the internet.

Philips stereos are great. I own a Stereo system from the 90's and works like a charm til this day.

I need help ! Just bought this reciever but no remote controller ! Now when I play a cd I'm blasted with sound and cant turn it down! What can I do and how do I do this? I have FasD so please make it as simple as can be...

This is quite a remarkable deck. Thank you for sharing. With all due respect, there is a confusion around the noise reduction systems. Both Dolby and dbx requires recording with the engaged corresponding system, then play with the same settings back. Not just randomly switching them on or off. So, for example, make a record with Dolby C, then play it back with Dolby C. Every other setting is inappropriate. Of course, the true value of this deck shines with recording with dbx and playback with dbx. Never mind, I like this video anyways.

Да,я тоже хочу дополнит словами этот усилитель старой модели 720а шикарен,ни то что новодельный Денон Ае-720 .у меня была новая модель ,после новой это просто сказка,уже 3 год наслаждвюсь этим усилителем. Он стоит своих денег .Шикарный аппарат

По-ходу что то неисправно в нем или антенна плохая. Имею точно такой, работает без шипения и находит автоматом кучу станций на "кусок" провода. У Вас находит и "проскакивает", на моем при любом подьеме индикатора останавливается и предлагает зафиксировать станцию....

a denon deck and a technics amplifier would be better to hear bad quality pre-recorded cassettes ,everyone i knew not having money to buy a tuntable would buy always a LP record or vynyl how they call it today, and then ask to a friend to record it on a good cassette deck or reel and when having money to buy a turntable they would already have a colection of records well protected with two plastic covers to avoid damage to the cover and pre-recorded cassettes weren´t bought that much i bought maybe 8 or 9 all my life and some do sound good others sound bad and are deck destroyers, and the same price as a record ,the reason why i have them is because i was far from home and wanted to hear a new album from one of my favorite bands or a new band that sounded good to me like the first Boston album bought in the U.S.of A. that came with a chrome tape and sounded real good but today i put it to play and sounds very good in the first 10 seconds maybe than it dirts the head and sounds very mufled ,but the first was More a OST from the film by Barbet schroeder(or close to it) from the band pink floyd before releasing the dark side of the moon if i was an audiophile i would have between records and cds maybe 30 versions of the album but the first i bought still sounds very good and not a remastered version in cd or re-re-re-remasterized version and how incredible it sounds they say ,well the cd is just horrible because it was analog recording entirelly from the instruments till the recording studio and Lp´s were better built in those days and none of those versions sounds better than the first record released but what to say sgt.peppers from The Beatles ,that sounds amazing even in mono and i was ofered a beatles box in stereo in cds , how horrible the cds sound they even seemed played by a worst band ,no Beatles will be heard on any of the cd releases and stereo there is the two doble albuns in red and blue for stereo good listening, so people today thing they heard the Beatles, but no and i can say i heard the Beatles ,even playing live even when running from Portugal to do not die in some african jungle i prefered Hamburg brewery´s where i after some liters of beer not half the alcohol level i was used to drink in Portuguese beer, i used to make several travels to the man´s room .They had a tuborg beer that it was heavy lot´s of alcohol half the goings to the mens room and doble the alcohol in the blood stream. i have a technics deck from the 90´s that had calibration but had also other that looks a lot like that and it recorded well, but i thought it was a RS- 645pbx, the other was a 900 and something it were both direct drive quartz engine and i had already a 79 technics cassette deck with this configuration and it works today perfectelly allthough it was a expensive one, from all decks i prefer TEC,REVOX,AKAI,PIONEER and nakamichi not as good as the others, DRAGON not as good as any other nakamichi like the CR-7a or ZX-9 or 1000ZXL or 700ZXL or 1000 or 680ZX or cassette deck 1,but the best that never gave me no trouble was the BX-2 bought at the same time as my first dragon in 82 ,if you play there pre-recorded cassettes not only a year it will last working perfectelly or better ,not one summer in south of portugal and i was told in the 90´s they had improved the Dragon so i bought other and it sounds good in the first days or monthes because by this time i already knew what were well built cassettes might not have the best tape but doesn´t destroys cassette decks like in the 90´s i was limited to TDK sa, SA-X or SONY UX.-PRO ,also bought some TDK AR to listen in the car and they sound amazing today maxell was one of my favorite brands but when they release those light grey casings it´s assured fast destruction of any cassette decks as it happened with BASF in 85 ,before were my favorite after in two one would be good this if one was lucky, but not always maybe some C-60 cassettes like the maximaII or I and the super chrome II
