This was from an excellent Hitachi line. I bought an SR-804 (50wpc) Hitachi Class G receiver in 1979 and still use it as my main amp. This SR-604 was between budget models and "full sized" models. Providing a healthy 35wpc with Class G amp gave it some punch. Nice twin FM meters, two tape loops with one way dubbing (rare in a 35wpc receiver) and good FM tuner. The LED power meters look cheap and the lack of an Aux input hurt its appeal. Still, though. It's a very useful receiver in a moderate hifi system. Good vintage speaker choices are; EPI-100, Ohm L, Advent 5002, Acoustic Research AR-28, Genesis ll, Electro-Voice Interface 2 or JBL L40. I like the Teac deck. I have a Teac X-3 open reel deck and Denon DRM-800A cassette deck.

In this video I played a tape that I like very much, but many players would refuse to play. They will just stop playing it or interrupt while fast forwarding or rewinding. But not this TEAC V-770. Great mechanics and recording features.
