Thanks for watching! We can’t remember if we paid by card or cash in this case, sorry! The fare itself is on the website for the local transport. I believe it’s less than €2 per the Avanza website.

More than a hybrid, Galicia and the original territory of Portugal were a political unit for centuries. The castrexos, a people of Celtic origin, developed a similar culture from the Cantabrian Sea to the mouth of the Duero River. This territory was the base of the Roman province of Gallaecia (does the name sound familiar to you? :)) with its capital in present-day Braga (Portugal) but with Lugo (Galicia) as its main city. It was not until the 12th century that the Condado Portucalense, a county of the Kingdom of Galicia, was separated. The common language spoken in the previously common territory began to vary and evolve in both until it became modern Galician and Portuguese. BTW, nice video!!! 💪🏼

I recommend that you cross borders in the Pyrenees. It's spectacular on both sides (as well as Andorra). Nature doesn't care about borders. Spanish side - French side sounds arbitrary to me.
@LukeandTylerTravel5 ай бұрын
Good point! We haven't explored much of the French side of the Pyrenees but would love to in the future. For us this was part of a larger trip around Spain but I could see how a Pyrenees itinerary that incorporates Spain, Andorra, and France would be a good idea as well. Thanks for watching :)

I think it only fair to say that Shropshire came out in bottom position on my website a few years back. True my site at the time was arguably the most comprehensive listing of free attractions in England, but it involved contacting various bodies, tourist boards, councils, etc, and Shropshire came out at the very bottom across the whole of England. I am more than happy to show any member of the tourist board or county council why they came out bottom, even if they do not wish to explain why they were so lax in replying to my emails and telephone calls at the time. I should point out that this was all pre COVID so that should not be used as an excuse😊

Fantastic video, you guys do such a good job. I was so happy to see that they've finished the frescos in the church at the Merry Cemetery. When we were there in 2019, they were just beginning the painstaking painting. They did it exactly the same way they did it 1600 years ago with the same materials. They started with a mixture of plaster and hemp, and the painting is all done while the plaster is wet and the color is mixed in with the plaster. There was a master there who designs it all and several apprentices. If the plaster dries too fast, they have wipe it and start over. I wish it would let me post a photo so you could see how it looked just three years ago. I suspect the man you met in Breb was Vasile Oanea. He is the official photographer of the village and the keeper of all the records. We went into his house, and he had piles and piles of photos and notebooks with everything that happened on a certain day. It was amazing. Our guide, who took us around the region for three days, has promised to take care of all his treasures for him when he passes on.
@LukeandTylerTravel11 ай бұрын
Wow what an incredible story! Thanks very much for sharing. We were lucky then to see the completed frescos, they’re so beautiful. It’s nice to have a name to the lovely man we met, and happy that your guide is kind enough to look after his belongings! Warms our hearts ❤️
