40 years since I was in Bilbao and the Basque country. The memories of my times there have never left me. Nice video lads.

40 years ago Bilbao was sooo different... An industrial city full of rust, smoke, noise, drugs and violence. Fortunately, it has been regenerated, although I know people who remember that Bilbao with a certain affection.

Fyi, Bilbao is not the de facto capital of Euskadi… We have an official one : Vitoria-Gasteiz Wheeler the Parliament, the Governement and the official residence of the President (Lehendakari) are… So, really strange to hear what you said about Bilbao and strange to visit our country (we are a country, yes) whithout visiting the capital…

I stumbled upon your channel when prepping for a trip to the Basque country. Your videos are much more appealing to me than so many others that are prepared by many younger-than-me folks. You present good information, good subtitles, and you pronounce the language reasonably well. Although we're not able to do your level of hiking, I like the alternatives you present for driving and seeing sights. You speak very clearly and closed captioning can keep up with you. You don't use the word "like" before every statement. Plus, so many travel features are made about the personalities of the narrators. It is tiring and boring to watch image after image of a cute and clever gal or guy showing how much they are in love with themselves and their video. So don't go there! Keep up the good travel videos, Luke and Tyler.

I will be spending 8 days in Bilbao at the end of April - beginning of May. I am planning to stay 1 night in San Sebastian. My question for you guys is: Should I devote extra days for San Sebastian instead? Thank you kindly.
@LukeandTylerTravel2 жыл бұрын
We were happy with our one day in San Sebastián. But you might want more time there if you plan on relaxing on the beach or doing a day trip such as a visit to Zumaia.

I recommend using Donostia / San Sebastián as a base camp for certain getaways. From there you can go by car (20 Mins) or directly by train (Trains every half hour and a journey of 40 Mins) to Zumaia. Another very picturesque town is Hondarribia / Fuenterrabia, just 10 or 15 minutes away by car (you also have a direct train and of course buses) with a colorful fishing quarter and medieval stone streets. It's located in a bay that serves as a natural border between Spain and France and on the other side of that bay is Hendaye / Hendaye, in the French side of the Basque Country. kzbin.info/www/bejne/in3Ln32ioLV5ldk And just a few minutes from there, Biarritz.

Immer das gleiche Gesichte, Bilbao liegt im Baskenland, nicht in Spanien.
