I dont think there are any pots to turn inside of this radio to peak and tune it either so if somebody is charging for a tune on this radio all they probably did was go in the menu and turn the mic gain all the way up.

It has a MOSEFT final which is how these newer ones are built. The older version you would never get that kind of power out of it.

all ihave is a cobra 85 base for now and my last empror was silver it blew up after the last guy built my mic wrong ..sad i know

Oh yeah, the old Cobra 85 also known as the "SHOE BOX" radio lol I have a few here that are in great shape & work great. The silver version of the Emperor was the TS-3010 & was a good radio but the TS-5010 was a great radio. I have a few here, one in which I use daily as my shop radio.

Yes, the Emperor TS-5010 was a much better radio even though there about the same internally to the HR-2510

@dxradioshop What I never liked about the 2510 was the size of the display for mobile use. Also the chassis was different from all other DX chassis. The size was nice but if you ever needed new covers you were out of options.

EMPEROR TS-5010 was a better built than the HR-2510 even though the inside is very similar. The emperor was better built.

how much do you charge for align and tune ? also i would like to have the traces checked out below the rubber pad that is famous for causing issues. im buying this radio and it doesnt have issues yet but need it checked out
