Jesus answers your statement in Matthew 7:13- 23, "13 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is constricted that leads to life, and there are few who find it. 15 “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will [h]know them by their fruits. [i]Are grapes gathered from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 So then, you will [j]know them by their fruits. 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, in Your name did we not prophesy, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many [k]miracles?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’ Please see our video "Bible Says Most Will Go to Eternal Damnation But a Few Will Receive God's Grace & Go To Eternal Joy" at kzbin.info/www/bejne/qp2vnKJ4bN58nrc which will go into great detail Biblically on this topic. Thanks for sharing this. Am a year plus old as an Adventist from a Pentecostal background. I loved how things are done here. But my misgivings have always been with the doctrine of investigative judgement, it does not to my views aligns with the Holy scriptures and two the tendency of members to want to place Ellen Whites writings above the Holy scriptures.

Adventism operates with a veil of double-speak. What if Adventism bases its doctrines on texts beyond the Bible? Would that not invite the label of a cult? What if Ellen White's writings were elevated to prophetic authority-an authority assumed to be free from error? Adventism claims the title of THE Remnant Church, a unique status supposedly validated by Ellen White's ministry. In doing so, they declare all other Christian denominations as "universal churches," while positioning themselves as the one true church of the last days. Could such exclusivity further justify viewing Adventism as a cult? Yet, to obscure this exclusivity, Adventism introduces a layer of double-speak: They assert that Ellen White's writings are "tested against the Bible." This claim would be credible if her works were ever acknowledged to contain doctrinal errors. Instead, her writings are used to "correct" the church, leaving no room for scrutiny or contradiction. By this standard, the supposed test becomes circular logic-a façade that shields her writings from genuine accountability.

This one minute short video comes from our full length video called "Roman Catholicism Series #11: Scripture Twisting - 20 Ways Religious Cults Misread the Bible" at kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4XCZqObgdOEpaM . To see the entire 16 hour video series called "Roman Catholicism Series" go to our playlist "Dealing With Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Idolatry & the Virgin Mary" with 296 videos at kzbin.info/aero/PLFFA8D69D1B914715 . False religions pervert the message of the Bible in many ways. 2 Peter 3:16-17, "as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. 17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard lest you, having been carried away by the error of unprincipled men, fall from your own steadfastness," "Scripture twisting" refers to the act of intentionally misinterpreting or taking verses from the Bible out of context to support a particular belief or agenda, often done by cults or groups with unorthodox interpretations, essentially distorting the meaning of the scripture to fit their own desired narrative. In Scripture, there are many instances of people who twisted the Scriptures to their own destruction. Jeremiah 23:36, for example, addresses those who were misrepresenting the Word of God: “Each one’s word becomes their own message. So you distort the words of the living God, the Lord Almighty, our God.” In Matthew 23:13-36, Jesus rebukes the Pharisees and teachers of the law for their misinterpretations and hypocritical applications of the Scriptures. They had added human traditions to God’s law, burdening people and obscuring the law’s true intent. Paul personally contended with false teachers who had distorted his doctrine. Speaking to the Galatians, Paul says, “I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel-not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ” (Galatians 1:6-7, ESV). Paul says that anyone who distorts the gospel of Christ should be “accursed” (verse 8, ESV). This language is similar to Peter’s warning that twisting the Scriptures will lead to destruction. We can identify a false teacher or a false prophet by examining first and foremost their teaching and secondly their behavior in light of Scripture. If what they are teaching is not consistent with what is plainly revealed in Scripture, they are a false teacher and are to be ignored, even if they live extraordinary lives, even if they appear to have supernatural insight, or even if they seem to work great miracles. Jesus warned us that there would be false prophets who would perform great signs and would seek to lead astray, if possible, even the elect (Matthew 24:24, Mark 13:22). It is, therefore, urgent not to be distracted by such things, but to focus on the content of their teaching. Our Lord explained: “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits,” (Matthew 7:15-20). The false prophet comes in the clothing of a sheep but is inwardly a wolf. He appears on the outside as a sheep but is secretly a wolf within. We are to know them by their “fruit,” not by their “clothing.” A fig tree bears figs, an apple tree bears apples, a prophet bears prophesy, and a teacher bears teaching. “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart,” (Matthew 12:33-34). Jesus likewise said of the false teachers of his day: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness,” (Matthew 23:27). “Woe to you! For you are like concealed tombs, and the people who walk over them are unaware of it,” (Luke 11:44). The image here, drawing from the Old Testament ceremonial purity laws, is of something that looks innocuous or even pleasing on the outside, but is not only corrupt within but also makes the unsuspecting impure because of its deception. It is, therefore, imperative that we not be distracted by any outward appearance of “goodness,” but rather focus first and foremost on the window we have to what is within: the words.

Eastern Orthodox believe the Word of God (Greek: Λόγος) is one person in two natures, both fully divine and fully human, perfectly God (τέλειος Θεός) and perfectly man (τέλειος άνθρωπος) united in the person of Jesus Christ, in a unique event known as "the Incarnation".[10] Eastern Orthodox believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the promised Messiah of the Jews, the God of Israel come to be with his people, the Redeemer of the human race who saves the world from sin and its effects, the comprehensible self-revelation of the incomprehensible God, and the pre-eternal Son begotten of the Father before all ages: "the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds (æons), Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father."[11] Footnotes: 10. Louth, Andrew (2007). "The Place of Theosis in Orthodox Theology". In Christensen, Michael J.; Wittung, Jeffery A. (eds.). A good analysis from church history where the worship (relabeled to "veneration" to vainly escape the charge of blatant idolatry) of saints & images can be found is at "Perseverance of the Saints & the Worship of Saints (Historical Theology Vol. 1, #17)" - www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=14101149112 & "The Worship of Images & Civil Authorities (Historical Theology Vol. 1, #18)" - www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=15101057200. The worship of images was in part one of the many reasons for the break between the Roman Catholic religion & the Eastern Orthodox religion during the "Great Schism of 1054 AD." Both the Roman Catholic and the Eastern Orthodox church have icons and idols that are part of their worship and service. Catholics & Orthodox justify themselves saying that they are praying to the spirit behind the statue (although Orthodox do not recognize statues), painting or icon not to the statue, painting or icon itself. These statues or icons are of Jesus, Mary or saints and angels, so that makes it okay according to them. Wrong! There is more to this practice than meets the eye! I Corinthians 10:19-20 says: “What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing? But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.” Eastern Orthodoxy is very similar to Roman Catholicism in denying clear Biblical doctrines & replacing them with heretical doctrines instead: 1. Claiming to be the one true Church of Christ going back 2000 years while all others are not despite historical facts proving this to be false (see our website www.historycart.com/ & our 18 part video series on KZbin concerning early Christian church history before 325 AD beginning with "Early Christian Church History #1: Who's Who in Early Pre-Nicene Christian Writers" at kzbin.info/www/bejne/iH-5f5qQmJ1ll5Y). 2. The denial of justification by faith alone which then is replaced with a works righteousness system of church related sacraments. 3. The equal authority of church tradition and Scripture. 4. Discouragement of individuals interpreting the Bible apart from tradition. 5. The perpetual virginity of Mary. 6. Prayer for the dead. 7. The possibility of receiving salvation after death. Both Eastern Orthodoxy & Roman Catholicism fall under the curse of Galatians 1:6-9 since both clearly have a "different gospel" than the one the Bible teaches. See our playlist concerning early church history at kzbin.info/aero/PL9931642C7C8FFEAB&feature=plcp . "I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; 7 which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! 9 As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!" Click on the time markers provided to analyze this video quickly. Eastern Orthodoxy claims to be the church established by Jesus Christ, but they anathematize the faith of the early church. The reality is that it's Protestants who stand with the church fathers in professing the historic and Biblical faith of the church. This is a presentation of Christ Presbyterian Church, a congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian denomination in Magna, Utah (www.gospelutah.org) used by CAnswersTV with their permission. Larry Wessels, director of Christian Answers thanks them for their ministry. Their KZbin channel is www.youtube.com/@ancientpathstv . 00:00 - How to use time markers. 7:24 - Presentation begins here with homosexual marriage in Roman Catholicism. 8:00 - The Eastern Orthodox religion curses to hell (anathematizing) the early Western Christian church for adding the "filioque." The filioque is a Latin phrase that means "and from the Son". It was added to the Nicene Creed in 589 AD during the Council of Toledo. The filioque states that the Holy Spirit comes from both the Father and the Son, not just the Father. The filioque was originally added to counter Arianism, which was the belief that Christ was not divine. The filioque was intended to correct the idea that the Son was not as divine as the Father. The filioque has been a source of conflict between the Eastern and Western churches. The Eastern Orthodox churches reject the filioque because they believe it goes against the Council of Chalcedon in 451, which stated that the Nicene Creed should not be changed. The filioque is considered one of the main reasons for the schism between the Eastern and Western churches in 1054. Why does Orthodox reject filioque? They claim It is precisely because it changes the nature of God. It upsets the balance of the three Persons of the Holy Trinity. Because of this they say the Western Church has a different god & thus deserve to be damned. 8:47 - More Orthodox cursing of anyone who accepts the "filioque" especially Protestants! 9:39 - Explanation of what filioque means & church history behind it. 13:17 - Martin Luther is condemned for saying ecumenical councils by men contain errors. However there were common disagreements between Orthodox & Catholic authorities themselves as to which councils were ecumenical & which were not. 15:47 - Who Defines What Is or is Not An Ecumenical Council which they consider to be on the same level as Acts 15:28 "For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us"? What a mess when ecumenical councils are analyzed & found to be wanting. 24:26 - Athanasius would later be declared the father of orthodoxy after he had opposed heretical ecumenical councils & the Pope of Rome. 25:20 - The exaltation of Divine & Ecumenical Councils as Infallible is a false claim & pretense. Augustine said Holy Scripture was above ecumenical councils. 27:36 - The Eastern Orthodox religion can rewrite their faith & history anytime they want to. 27:54 - Eastern Orthodox Attacking the Early Christian Church Fathers. 36:28 - Eastern Orthodox Photius (882 AD) admitted that Augustine, Jerome & Ambrose said the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Son and that the West dwells in darkness. Despite this the Eastern Orthodox religion has declared all three of them as "Saints" anyway. 38:11 - Examples of one church ecumenical council contradicting another. 42:51 - The God Crowned King. Different forgeries that were used as support for Roman Catholicism & Eastern Orthodoxy. The twisted historical background of Orthodoxy forced the dishonest rewriting of histories to support their political religious organizations & agendas. Various unsavory political details going on within the Orthodox religion as well as murder & torture concerning icons. Questionable "saints" declared & evil political maneuverings ongoing continually. 54:19 - Ecumenical Patriarch in Istanbul has only a few thousand followers surrounded by multitudes of Muslims. Russian Orthodox in Moscow, Russia claim to be "The Third Rome" & the home of "True Orthodoxy." 55:06 - By what standard? Eastern Orthodoxy & Roman Catholicism both stand on things other than the Bible as their standard. Orthodoxy & Romanism proclaim that they are the true church of Jesus Christ but their own history & the scriptures declare that they are not. They are both under the curse of Galatians 1:6-9, "6 I marvel that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ for a different gospel, 7 which is really not another, only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should proclaim to you a gospel contrary to the gospel we have proclaimed to you, let him be accursed! 9 As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is proclaiming to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let him be accursed!" 1:03:20 - Subscribe to our KZbin channel & get updates

The "In Defense of the Faith" crew featuring Larry Wessels & David Krill was a special live telecast (at the time it was recorded). The broadcast aired for 15 years on public access television in Austin, Texas to over 300,000 households. The premise for the show was very simple, to answer people's questions & arguments (Jude 3) concerning the Bible & to consistently present the Gospel of Jesus Christ. See our main KZbin channel CAnswersTV (which stands for Christian Answers Television) at kzbin.info/door/Q_EDvOtDAAWfCvGUhd6y3A . See our playlist "Dealing with Seventh-day Adventism & Their "Prophetess" with 77 videos at kzbin.info/aero/PL5316CC6F66F24283 . Acts 20:7, “And on the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul began talking to them, intending to depart the next day, and he prolonged his message until midnight.” The first day of the week is Sunday, and this is the day the people gathered. This passage can easily be seen as the church meeting on Sunday. It has two important church functions within it: breaking bread (communion) and a message (preaching). Additionally, Luke did not use the Jewish system of counting days: sundown to sundown. He used the Roman system: midnight to midnight. This is a subtle point that shows the Jewish Sabbath system was not the one utilized by Luke. 1 Cor. 16:1-2, “Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I directed the churches of Galatia, so do you also. 2 On the first day of every week let each one of you put aside and save, as he may prosper, that no collections be made when I come.” Notice here that Paul is directing the churches to meet on the first day of each week and put money aside. It would seem that this is tithing. So, the instructed time for the church to meet is Sunday. Is this an official worship day set up by the church? Rev. 1:10-11, “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like the sound of a trumpet, ... " The New Bible Dictionary says regarding the term, ‘The Lord’s Day’ in Revelation 1:10: “This is the first extant occurrence in Christian literature. “The Lord’s Day” is used to designate Sunday Romans 14:5, “One man regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Let each man be fully convinced in his own mind.” Colossians 2:16, “Therefore let no one act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day.” In creation, God rested on the seventh day. But, since God is all-powerful, He doesn’t get tired. He doesn’t need to take a break and rest. So, why does it say that He rested? The reason is simple: Mark 2:27 says, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.” In other words, God established the Sabbath as a rest for His people - not because He needed a break but because we are mortal and need a time of rest - of focus on God. In this, our spirits and bodies are both renewed. The O.T. system of Law required keeping the Sabbath as part of the overall moral, legal, and sacrificial system by which the Jewish people satisfied God’s requirements for behavior, government, and forgiveness of sins. The Sabbath was part of the Law in that sense. To “remain” in favor with God, you also had to keep the Sabbath. If it was not kept, then the person was in sin and would often be punished (Ezekiel 18:4; Rom. 6:23; Deut. 13:1-9; Num. 35:31; Lev. 20:2, etc.). But with Jesus’ atonement and justification by faith (Rom. 5:1), we no longer are required to keep the Law and hence the Sabbath, which was only a shadow of things to come (Col. 2:16-17). We are not under Law but grace (Rom. 6:14-15). The Sabbath is fulfilled in Jesus because in Him we have rest (Matt. 11:28). We are not obligated to keep the Law, which goes for the Sabbath as well. Summary of Article The Sabbath was given to Israel as a sign between them and God. The Sabbath was part of the Old Covenant Law. Christians are not under the Old Covenant Law. Christians are free to worship on any day they choose. Christians should not be legalistic regarding Sabbath keeping. I recently found out that Ellen g White in 1839 suffered a traumatic brain injury and was left unconscious in bed for 3 weeks when she was 9 years old. in 1842, when she was 12 years old. A man named William Miller, with the "Millerites" inspired her to become a believer whilst travelling and preaching Jesus' second coming. William Miller was known for "The Great Disappointment." One of his other followers, left after his death and founded Jehovah Witness. Ellen left and founded Seventh Day Adventism. All three, the mormons, JW and SDA originated from the same "Great second awakening" era, within a district that was named "the burned-over district" in New York City. Seventh Day Adventism was founded on the grounds of a doomsday nutcase who was completely wrong, whom indoctrinated a 12 year old brain damaged girl which then went on to claim prophesy and found Seventh Day Adventism. SDA teach via sola scriptura, but what you might not realise is that SDA church consider Ellen Whites teachings to be apart of that Sola Scriptura. Be careful before you join any religious denomination, sect, organized thinking tanks. Always look at their history. Christianity for example has a very compelling case for legitimacy and validity, even if most of it comes straight from a Christian Narrative. Seventh Day Adventism isn't compelling at all.

Graham says that the Pope & Graham agree on almost everything & their differences aren't important. 1. Graham receives honorary degree from Catholic college 2. Turns Catholic converts back to Rome. 1950 -- The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) was formed and Harold Ockenga would become one of the directors. That same year Roman Catholic Cardinal Cushing promoted Graham with the words “BRAVO BILLY” splashed on the cover of his magazine, making news all across the country, and leading the evangelist to say: “That was my first real coming to grips with the whole Protestant/Catholic situation. I began to realize that there were Christians everywhere. They might be called modernists, Catholics, or whatever, but they were Christians” (Bookstore Journal, Nov. 1991). 1952 -- Billy Graham told reporter William McElwain of the Pittsburgh Sun-Telegraph (Sept. 6, 1952), “Many of the people who have reached a decision for Christ at our meetings have joined the Catholic church and we have received commendations from Catholic publications for the revived interest in their church following one of our campaigns. After all, one of our prime purposes is to help the churches in a community.” 1953 -- Billy Graham “locked himself into a room in New York City for an entire day” with theological modernists Jesse Bader and John Sutherland Bonnell, that he might ask them questions and receive their counsel. In an article in Look magazine the next year (March 23, 1954), Bonnell testified that he and most other Presbyterian ministers did not believe in the virgin birth and the bodily resurrection of Christ, the inspiration of Scripture, a literal Heaven and Hell, and other doctrines. 1956 -- Christianity Today magazine was formed by Billy Graham, with Carl Henry as its first editor-in-chief. This would be the premier voice of positive-emphasis, non-judgmental, non-separatist, intellectually respectable, New Evangelical Christianity. 1957 -- Billy Graham’s evangelistic crusade in New York City was sponsored by the liberal Protestant Council and featured prominent theological modernists. Here Graham began his life-long practice of praising rank modernists, when he spent about 10 minutes eulogizing Jesse Baird, a well-known liberal and apostate, calling him a great servant of Christ. This crusade was the catalyst for Graham’s break with fundamentalists such as Bob Jones, Sr. and John R. Rice of the Sword of the Lord. --------- Methodist Leslie Weatherhead, who denied the blood atonement of Christ, said, “Graham is helping to fill our churches. We can teach people theology when we have got someone to teach” (Leslie Weatherhead: A Personal Portrait, 1975, p. 199). --------- At his San Francisco Crusade, Billy Graham honored modernist Bishop James Pike by having him sit on the platform & lead in prayer and by speaking at Pike’s Grace Cathedral. Graham honored Pike again at his 1960 Detroit Crusade. 1958 -- An official follow-up of Graham’s San Francisco Crusade reported that of the roughly 1,300 Catholics who came forward, “practically all remained Catholic, continued to pray to Mary, go to mass, and confess to a priest” (Oakland Tribune, Wed., Dec. 17, 1958). The chairøman of this crusade was Methodist Bishop Gerald Kennedy, who denied practically every doctrine of the Christian faith and who had endorsed Nels Ferre’s blasphemous 1953 book The Sun & the Umbrella. 1978 -- In October, Billy Graham held a crusade in Catholic Poland. Upon being met at the airport by Bishop Miziolek, chairman of the Committee on Ecumenism of the Polish Catholic Church, Graham said that this adventure represented a new spirit of cooperation that was a constructive example for Christians in other nations (John Pollock, Billy Graham, p. 308). Four of the rallies were held in Catholic churches, with priests participating on the platform with Graham. While in Poland, Graham visited the Marian shrine of Jasna Gora (featuring an icon of the Black Madonna) in Czestochowa. A picture in Decision magazine for February 1979 showed Graham welcoming pilgrims to the shrine. In the minds of his Catholic observers, this put Graham’s stamp of approval upon the idolatrous Mary veneration that is featured at this influential shrine. In his book Crossing the Threshold of Hope, Pope John Paul II testified that his personal devotion to Mary was developed at Marian sites such as “at Jasna Gora” (p. 220). It has become fashionable of late to convert to Roman Catholicism, a phenomenon with which we interact occasionally in our podcast. (click on www.whitehorseblog.com/2023/05/14/the-mother-of-my-lord/#more-5007 ). It is there that we examine, and then refute, the reasons the typical Protestant gives when deciding to convert. The problem of Mary is often the last stumbling block to fall, but when it does, the floodgates of hyperlatria open wide, and an embarrassing superfluity of worship is heaped upon her. After all, the Roman Catholic priest can “command God … and make Him come down to the altar” to be offered in the Sacrifice of the Mass, but has “no commands to give His holy Mother, who does as She pleases.” So taught the Apparition of Mary at La Laus, France in 1664. And on that basis, the apparitions were determined to be authentic. Not because “Mary” appeared as a humble handmaiden but because she had appeared as Virgin Most Powerful and Queen of the Universe, utterly free of any constraint to her will. Unlike her hapless “Son” who gets bossed around daily like a chump, nobody tells Mary what to do. That is why the Apparition of Mary at La Laus was considered authentic, and the curse of hyperlatria is the wretched misfortune that awaits the Protestant who stumbles into devotion to her. In Roman Catholicism, Mary was not merely reverent and virtuous, but wholly and irreversibly sinless from the moment of conception-not only free of sin, but free of any inclination to sin. She was a virgin both at Jesus’ conception and at His birth-as the Scriptures teach-but Rome insists that she also retained the physical attribute of virginity even in childbirth. They allege she suffered neither sickness, nor tearing of the flesh, nor physical pain, nor even the slightest discomfort. Such humiliations of the weaker sex are reserved for the sinful. And because Jesus is God and Mary is His Mother, Roman Catholicism reasons that Mary is “the Mother of God,” the Theotokos. Rome also teaches that the Ark of the Old Covenant prefigured Mary-anointed in holiness (Exodus 30:26), overlaid in pure gold inside and out (Exodus 25:11), made of ostensibly imperishable acacia wood (Exodus 25:10), both immaculate in holiness and untouchable by men. She contained within her womb the bread of heaven and the tables of stone (Hebrews 9:4)-figures of Christ Whom she had carried, and as Ark of the New Covenant, she is the perfect fulfillment of the typology. Free of sin and its effects, she must have also escaped the curse of Adam, returning to Heaven at the end of her life, glorified in body, physically untouched by the ravages of decomposition, and certainly in no need of resurrection. “Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength” (Psalms 132:8). As Christ had ascended to His rest, so surely had Mary, His Ark, followed Him there. She is therefore said already to be enjoying resurrected glory in Heaven. When trying to convince the gullible and the naïve of these teachings, the typical Roman Catholic will appeal to “two thousand years of historic Christian teaching” (Patrick Madrid, Answer Me This), alleging that the Church has always believed these things about Mary. When Pope Pius IX proclaimed in 1854 that Mary had been conceived without sin, he appealed to “illustrious documents of venerable antiquity, of both the Eastern and the Western Church,” saying that they “very forcibly testify” of Mary’s sinlessness (Ineffabilis Deus, 1854). When Pope Pius XII proclaimed in 1950 that Mary had been assumed body and soul into heaven at the end of her life, he appealed to “holy Fathers and Doctors of the Church” who have “since ancient times” taught “this fact” (Munificentissimus Deus, 16). The claims are so broad in their scope and sweeping in their claim that they nearly always produce the desired effect: to intimidate the timid and dissuade the pliable. The ignorant Protestant, shuddering at the mountains of evidence through which he is challenged to sift, simply capitulates without challenge. The truth, however, is that there absolutely have not been “two thousand years of historic Christian teaching” on the fictional Roman Catholic Mary. And the ancient Eastern and Western Church most certainly did not “forcibly testify” of her immaculacy and assumption. Quite the opposite, in fact. In the ancient Church, Mary was believed to be sinful, Christ’s childbirth to be normal, her physical virginity compromised in a natural delivery that was enormously painful for both mother and Child. Her many sins were cleansed at the Cross rather than prevented at her conception. Far from unapproachable holiness and immaculate purity, Mary was not considered to be the Ark of the New Covenant, but an obstinate, unbelieving mother who came to faith in Christ late in life. Such a woman most certainly had not been assumed bodily into heaven. She would have to wait for the resurrection like the rest of us. It was Christ, His Church, and His Gospel, rather than Mary, Who had been foreshadowed by the Ark. What we find in a review of the historical record is that the Mary of Rome’s imagination did not arrive on the scene until late in the 4th century. Until then, she was considered not only sinful, but obstinate, vainglorious and covetous, more appropriately a figure of the Synagogue that rejected Him than the Bride of Christ who celebrated His arrival. So remarkably candid were the early writers on Mary’s need for healing from her “disease” and cleansing from her sins, that the Roman Catholic Encyclopedia is forced to acknowledge those many “stray private opinions,” and the Roman Catholic Mariologist is forced to acknowledge the casual and “discourteous” familiarity with which the early writers discussed her: … the older Fathers … seem to have been in error on this matter. … But these stray private opinions merely serve to show that theology is a progressive science.” (Catholic Encyclopedia, Immaculate Conception). The pre-Ephesus portrait of Mary is paradoxical. … Before [the council of] Ephesus [in 431 A.D.], Oriental theology is apparently unaware of a problem in this regard. Where the literature touches the sanctity of Mary, it does so … with a disinterest which is disconcerting and at times a familiarity which borders on discourtesy. (Juniper Carol, Mariology, Vol. II, section IV Our Lady’s Holiness) And here is where the Catholic apologist’s proud boasting of “two thousand years” of tradition and the Pope’s pious fabrication of ancient “forcible” testimony, come crashing against the rocky coastline of actual history: The early Church just wasn’t that into her. They Believed Mary Was Sinful Tertullian (160 - 225 AD) When speaking of Jesus’ brethren (John 7:5), Tertullian observed that “neither did his brethren believe in him,” including Mary in the ranks of His immediate family’s unbelief. Even though Martha and other Marys were in constant attendance upon Him, “there is at the same time a want of evidence of His mother’s adherence to Him.” Her unbelief is the reason Mary could be no figure of the Church, but rather was a figure of the Synagogue: In this very passage indeed, their unbelief is evident. … while strangers were intent on Him, His very nearest relatives were absent. … but they prefer to interrupt Him, and wish to call Him away from His great work. … When denying one’s parents in indignation, one [Jesus] does not deny their existence, but censures their faults. … in the abjured mother there is a figure of the synagogue, as well as of the Jews in the unbelieving brethren. In their person Israel remained outside, while the new disciples who kept close to Christ within, hearing and believing, represented the Church, which He called mother in a preferable sense and a worthier brotherhood, with the repudiation of the carnal relationship. Matthew 12:26 says, "And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?" The Bible says Satan appears as an angel of light, 2 Corinthians 11:14, which says, "And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light", in this case as the Virgin Mary. This is the Devil's favorite trick. The Bible explains this well in 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12, "9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness., "

Galatians 1:6-9, "6 I marvel that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ for a different gospel, 7 which is really not another, only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should proclaim to you a gospel contrary to the gospel we have proclaimed to you, let him be accursed! 9 As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is proclaiming to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let him be accursed!" We can identify a false teacher or a false prophet by examining first and foremost their teaching and secondly their behavior in light of Scripture. It is no surprise, then, that in one of the earliest church writings outside the New Testament we possess, called the Didache, in Chapter 11 which specifically discusses how to identify false prophets and false teachers, the very first instruction before all others is: “Whosoever, therefore, shall come and teach you all these things that have been said before, receive him; but if the teacher himself be perverted and teach a different doctrine to the destruction thereof, hear him not.” The Bible does provide us some concrete examples: False teachers will often seek to add to the work of Christ some law, work, ritual, or ordinance that a believer must also perform in addition to repentance and faith in Christ, saying that this too must be done to be saved, (Galatians 3, 1 Timothy 4:1-5). On the other hand, many false teachers will do the opposite, proclaiming that, because God is so merciful and salvation is by grace alone, you, therefore, don’t need to repent at all. They pervert God’s grace and make it a license to sin, (Jude 4). Any teacher who subtly denies Jesus (2 Peter 2:1), or His authority (Jude 4), or His deity (1 Corinthians 12:2-3), or that He came down from heaven and took on human flesh and died in our place (1 John 1:1-3), these are clearly false teachers.

"Crossing the Threshold of Hope" tells how the book called "True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin" says that if God sees someone with a "spirit of Mary" within them then God will send His spirit into them. 15:12 The vision of Mary at Lourdes in 1858. The messages from this apparition - The importance of prayer, the rosary, penance, and humility (kissing the ground as a sign); a message of infinite mercy for sinners and for the care of the sick. John Paul II also has much superstitious love of the vision of Mary at Medjugorje. 19:10 World map of Virgin Mary apparitions. Apparitions contradict the one sacrifice of Christ for sin: Heb. 9:26, 10:12, 10:18. 21:25 The vision of Mary at Medjugorje said on April 5, 1984, "This evening I pray you especially to venerate the Heart of my Son, Jesus. Make reparation for the wound inflicted on the Heart of my Son. That Heart is offended by all kinds of sins." Jesus is the only One who makes reparation for sin. This is a false gospel opposed by Galatians 1:8-9. 26:02 The vision of Mary at Fatima, which is a favorite of Pope John Paul II, says "pray the Rosary each day to bring peace to the world & to bring an end to the war ... pray for the conversion of Russia, to do penance & that God wanted the world to have a devotion to Her Immaculate Heart" [instead of God]. Statues of this Mary are sent around the world to be venerated by adoring Catholics. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12, "Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." 27:06 The vision of Mary at Lourdes. 27:39 The vision of Mary at Guadalupe. 28:24 Various Plates & statues of visions of Mary. 29:01 Many Faces of Mary. 29:34 All are statues of Demons impersonating Mary. 30:48 The vision of Mary at Guadalupe & The Miraculous Medal in 1830 are visions of the demonic. 31:45 Demonic vision of Jesus influences Catholic practices for the whole church by an official encyclical about “sacred heart of Jesus.” 36:36 The vision of Mary at Mt. Carmel which brought about the scapular & more on the Medal of Mary. 40:38 The Rosary comes from a false vision of Mary. 43:27 Mary at Lourdes promotes the Immaculate Conception. 44:25 Demonic vision also influences the infallibility of the pope. 45:59 The vision of Mary to Don Bosco. 47:11 The assumption of Mary. 49:45 The Fatima secret in 1917 read by every pope since Pope Pius IX. 55:01 Rome has received much of their doctrine from demonic visions of Mary.

This one minute video short comes from our long version video called "87% OF EVANGELICAL "CHRISTIANS" DON'T KNOW WHAT THE GOSPEL IS OR WHAT JUSTIFICATION IS" at kzbin.info/www/bejne/n56XoK2vlKqciJY . See our playlist called, "Dealing with Predestination, Arminianism & Calvinism" at kzbin.info/aero/PLA932903698A56780 with 124 videos. According to Barna, Gallop & Hunter polls 87% of people claiming to be Evangelical Christians do not know what Biblical justification is (rather believing that God helps those who help themselves). 77% of this same group believe mankind is basically good by nature. With theology like this, 87% of today's Evangelical "Christians" would qualify as Medieval Roman Catholics except without a pope. True Christians, besides evangelizing other religions, cults & pagans, now must look to the so-called "Evangelicals" as another mission field to reach with the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. Larry Wessels, director of Christian Answers of Austin, Texas (KZbin channel at kzbin.info , websites: www.BIBLEQUERY.ORG, www.HISTORYCART.COM & www.MUSLIMHOPE.COM ) presents another broadcast of his radio program "Christian Answers Live!" hosted by Lee Meckley. The special guest for this presentation is Dr Michael Horton (website: www.whitehorseinn.org/). Dr Horton is Professor of Theology and Apologetics at Westminster Seminary California, editor-in-chief of Modern Reformation magazine, and host of the nationally syndicated radio broadcast, The White Horse Inn. He was formerly the president of Christians United for Reformation, which later merged to become the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals from 2001 to 2004. Both Modern Reformation magazine and The White Horse Inn radio broadcast are now entities under the umbrella of White Horse Media, whose offices are located on the campus of Westminster Seminary California. Dr Horton has written and edited more than fifteen books, including: "Putting Amazing Back Into Grace," "The Agony of Deceit: What Some TV Preachers Are Really Teaching," "Made In America: The Shaping of Modern American Evangelicalism," "Power Religion: The Selling Out of The Evangelical Church," "Beyond Culture Wars: Is America A Mission Field or Battlefield?," "Christless Christianity: The Alternative Gospel of the American Church," & others. Guest appearance by R.C. Sproul (www.ligonier.org/learn/series/justified-by-faith-alone ). How Is One Justified? Faith Alone or Faith And Works? Our opponents will argue that there is no single text that explicitly bears the words, justification by faith alone. They are correct, but I am certain that they would regard as simplistic the suggestion that the Scriptures do not teach the doctrine of the Trinity simply because the term is not used. The Scriptures are hardly ambiguous in excluding all human activity from being the instrument of justification with the exception of faith. This is the same as saying 'faith alone.' Or, to put it another way, if the Scriptures teach that we are justified by faith and not by works, then they teach 'faith alone.' The Gospel is announced first in Genesis, after the Fall, where God finds Adam and Eve in their guilt and self-righteousness. Their fig leaves cannot hide their shame from God, but the Redeemer God sacrifices an animal and clothes them in its skins, anticipating 'the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.' Already the Gospel is announced not as divine assistance in producing an inherent righteousness, but as God's covering of the believer with the righteousness of another. It is external to the believing sinner. In Acts 13:39, we read, 'Through Christ everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from by the law of Moses.' In Acts 15:9, we are told that 'he purified their hearts by faith.' If we are justified by a process of cooperating with grace, we can only have peace with God when we no longer sin. But Paul writes, 'Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand' (Rom.5:1-2). Paul drives this point home further in verse 9: 'Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!' The famous passage in Ephesians 2:8, 9 could not be clearer: 'For by grace you have been saved, through faith, and none of this is of yourselves; it is all the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.' Paul tells us that his fellow-Israelites were zealous indeed. 'For I can bear witness of them that they have a great zeal for God, but it is not according to knowledge.' Knowledge of certain things is essential for salvation, and the particular piece of knowledge Paul has in mind is the doctrine of justification by grace alone through faith alone: Romans 10:1-4

See our video "One Sin Is All It Takes To Send You To Hell Forever If You Live By The Ten Commandments & Not Christ" at kzbin.infocvebZk22tq0 . The standard is perfection: The Old Testament standard for keeping the Law is perfection, which no one can achieve. Salvation is by grace through faith: Salvation is achieved through faith in the grace of Christ, not by keeping the commandments. Christians are not bound by the Law of Moses: Christians are not required to keep the law in order to be saved. Some other Bible verses that support the idea that salvation is by grace through faith include: Romans 3:20, 28 Galatians 2:16 Ephesians 2:8 Keeping the commandments to be saved, Matthew 19:16-22 Since no one keeps them perfectly (Rom. 3:23), no one can achieve salvation by keeping the commandments (Rom. 3:28; 4:5; Gal. 2:16... Are Christians supposed to keep the Old Testament law? Though The Law is good, but we are not able to keep it sufficiently. The Old Testament standard of keeping The Law is perfection Do Christians have to obey the Old Testament Law? - Salvation is not by the Law. A very important point that we need to make is that Christians are not to keep the law in order to be saved. Matthew 19:16-22 and keeping the commandments to be saved. Did Jesus teach that we could obtain eternal life by keeping the commandments? Yes, he did. But the problem is that no one keeps the commandments because the standard is perfection. Deut. 27:26, “Cursed is he who does not confirm the words of this law by doing them.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.'” Gal. 3:10, “For as many as are of the works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written, “CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO DOES NOT ABIDE BY ALL THINGS WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF THE LAW, TO PERFORM THEM.” We can see from the word of God that the standard of keeping the commandments is to keep all of them and if you don’t keep them all, you are cursed. So, was the rich young ruler mentioned in the passage under discussion keeping the commandments as he said he was? Let’s take a look at all three of the accounts in the synoptic Gospels. Matthew 19:16-22 Mark 10:17-22 Luke 18:19-23 v. 16, “And someone came to Him and said, “Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may obtain eternal life?” v. 17, “As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” v. 18, “A ruler questioned Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” v. 17, “And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.” v. 18, “And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.” v. 19, And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.” v. 18, Then he said to Him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER; YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY; YOU SHALL NOT STEAL; YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS; v. 19, “You know the commandments, ‘DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, Do not defraud, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER..’ ” v. 20, “You know the commandments, ‘DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER..’ ” v. 19, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER; and YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.” v. 20, The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?” v. 20, And he said to Him, “Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth up.” v. 21, And he said, “All these things I have kept from my youth.” v. 21, Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” v. 21, Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” v. 22, When Jesus heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” v. 22, But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property. v. 22, But at these words he was saddened, and he went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property. v. 23, But when he had heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich. Conclusion In these verses, the rich young ruler believes that keeping the law will get him eternal life since he asks Jesus what good thing should he do to obtain eternal life, (Matt. 19:16; Mark 10:17, Luke 18:19). Jesus responds according to the man’s requests and cites several of the 10 Commandments (Matthew 19:18-19; Mark 10:19; Luke 18:20). However, in the Matthew account, Jesus also quotes from Leviticus 19:18, “you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” The man boasts that he has kept those commandments. But, had he really kept them? Jesus knew the Old Testament Law where it states that the standard of keeping the Law is perfection (Deuteronomy 27:26). In fact, Paul the apostle quotes Dt. 27:26 in Galatians 3:10 when he says, “For as many as are of the works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all things written in the book of the law to perform them.” So, when Jesus cites the commandments to the rich young ruler and includes Lev. 19:18 about loving his neighbor as himself, this is when we can see that he was not keeping the commandments, even though the young man boasted that he had been keeping them. So, by his own standard, the rich young ruler was exposed is failing (Matt. 7:2). Nevertheless, can anyone achieve salvation by keeping the commandments? Yes. But you have to keep them perfectly (Deut. 27:26; Gal. 3:10; James 2:10). Since no one keeps them perfectly (Rom. 3:23), no one can achieve salvation by keeping the commandments (Rom. 3:28; 4:5; Gal. 2:16, 21).

Luke 11:13 “If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” No one speaks on this verse, but I figured this must be where they got the “ask Jesus into your heart” idea. Am I wrong about what this passage is saying?

@CAnswersTV 23 күн бұрын
Is Luke 11:13 an evangelism to get saved Bible verse? No, Luke 11:13 is not typically considered an evangelism verse; instead, it's primarily focused on the concept of persistent prayer and the assurance by Christians that God will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him, emphasizing the boldness to approach God with requests. Jesus said in John 6:37, 39, 44, 63, & 65: "37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will never cast out. 39 Now this is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. 44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day. 63 The Spirit is the One who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. 65 And He was saying, “For this reason I have said to you, that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted him from the Father.” It's Revelation 3:20 that is twisted by evangelists into being a "let Jesus into your heart" verse. I grew up in a Christian world where salvation was only found through one door: praying the sinner’s prayer. At church, Bible camp, VBS, Sunday school, and in my own home, it seemed that there was one unifying message: the way to be saved from hell was to ask Jesus to come into your heart. Where did that idea come from? There is no Bible passage that tells us to do this. There is no passage on praying the sinner’s prayer. Perhaps even more worrisome, no believers in all of the Christian Church held this practice. So where did nearly all recent American Christians get this idea? It is probably because we have all heard evangelists quote from Revelation: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20). “Usually the evangelist applies this text as an appeal to unbelievers, saying: “Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart. If you open the door, then He will come in.” In the original saying, however, Jesus directed His remarks to the church. It was not an evangelistic appeal.” But even if Revelation 3:20 wasn’t originally an evangelistic Bible verse, could we turn it into one? No, because if we make this verse about “how to get saved,” we will miss the beautiful truth God has for us! Jesus is teaching His church to listen to His Word, the Scriptures, and seek Him with all of our heart. Christian pastor and theologian R.C. Sproul wrote, “The point is that seeking is something that unbelievers do not do on their own. The unbeliever will not seek. The unbeliever will not knock. Seeking is the business of believers. Jonathan Edwards said, ‘The seeking of the Kingdom of God is the chief business of the Christian life.’ Seeking is the result of faith, not the cause of it.” The Christian life begins at conversion; it does not end where it begins. It grows; it moves from faith to faith, from grace to grace, from life to life. This movement of growth is prodded by continual seeking after God. Just like we love God because He first loved us (I John 4:19), we will not seek after God until He first seeks us (John 4:23). Jesus does not stand at the door of my heart and knock, vainly hoping I will open it. Jesus is Lord of all, and even Lord of my life, whether I trust Him or not. The problem is not for Jesus; He is sovereign! The problem is for me: either I will trust Him, and own Him as Lord in glory, or I will be His subject of wrath for all eternity. Jesus does not need to come into my heart, because He is right now sitting at the right hand of God the Father, the Almighty. There, Jesus sits because He has completely accomplished our redemption, and He is praying for each of His believers by name before the Father. Picture a military general: he is not down on the front lines, but above at HQ, where he can oversee the battalions and squadrons, directing them into the fray. Jesus is not indwelling my heart on the front lines of the spiritual battle; He is at the Father’s throne, guiding His Church toward the defeat of Satan. Also, Jesus cannot come into my heart! In His resurrected body, Jesus cannot be at the Father’s throne, squeeze his glorified body “into my heart” (whatever that might mean), and be in your heart at the same time. He can, however, send His Spirit! Scripture teaches that it is not Jesus who lives within us, but His Spirit that indwells Christians. Jesus stands at the door and knocks, but He is knocking for His church family to open up to seeking Him spiritually, day by day. “In your spiritual walk, are you moving from faith to faith, from grace to grace, from life to life? Are you continually seeking after God?”

I left the SDA church months ago. Not just because I did some research on my own on the Bible or other sources, but mostly because deep down in my heart I knew there was something not right about this. I’ve always felt like ‘Is this really a church of Christ?’ And I always knew something was off about the teachings of Ellen G White. When I finally realized ‘enough is enough’, I finally told my wife I no longer believe in the SDA church and belief that Ellen G White is a false prophet and a liar, she didn’t took it that well as she’s a very devoted SDA member. But after a long argument, she accepted my decision of leaving the SDA church. Though I am unsure if our marriage holds as it hasn’t been going well for years and strongly states she wants to leave me, I know God will always be there for me even in the most difficult times.

Thanks for your comment. Your situation reminds me of my own religious controversy early in my marriage with my wife in 1981. I wasn't dealing with false Seventh-day Adventism back then with my wife but with another false religion called Roman Catholicism. Here's my video on how things turned out with my wife who was Roman Catholic at that time - "I Married a Born & Raised Roman Catholic Before I Became a Supernaturally Born Again Bible Christian" at kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJLdg3unna2bm7s . What's funny about all this in a sad sort of way is Seventh-day Adventists are always accusing me & my KZbin channel of being Roman Catholics because we are always exposing the SDA as being a false prophet organization. They like to say we are Jesuits doing the devil's work but they fail to realize we are not Romanists at all but instead have produced 295 videos over the last 34 years exposing Roman Catholicism as a counterfeit religion on our playlist called "Dealing With Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Idolatry & the Virgin Mary" at kzbin.info/aero/PLFFA8D69D1B914715 . May the Lord help you as He did me with my wife. John 14:6

Someone commented on our channel saying "Daughter of the Devil SDA Ellen White called Fanny Bolton and Marian Davis her “ bookmakers.” They wrote all of Ellen’s books. They both wrote about being overwhelmed when they discovered they were part of a conspiracy to defraud the readers. Ellen was a liar and a thief. Adventists are not in a denomination - they are in a dangerous spiritual counterfeit which is an abomination. Adventism has always been about the lies of Ellen White. Ellen forbids you to say you are saved." In response to this see "Who were Fannie Bolton and Marian Davis to Ellen G. White?" at in-him.com/SDA/Fannie-Bolton.htm part of which says "Fannie Bolton exposed Ellen G. White’s plagiarism a few years after going to work for her. “During a camp meeting in January of 1894, Fannie said, “she was “writing all the time for Sister White.” Furthermore, she said that most of what she wrote was “published in the Review and Herald...as having been written by Sister White under inspiration of God...I am greatly distressed over this matter, for I feel that I am acting a deceptive part. The people are being deceived about the inspiration of what I write. I feel that it is a great wrong that anything which I write should go out under Sister White’s name as an article specially inspired of God. What I write should go out over my own signature; then credit would be given where credit belongs.” [2] Marian Davis also had great misgivings about Ellen White’s plagiarism the entire time she worked with her. “Vesta J. Farnsworth, who was in Australia during the time Ellen was there, wrote that Marian “had shared in the decision to leave out quotation marks in the early edition of [The] Great Controversy and to the using of the general acknowledgment in the Preface. Then when there came severe criticism for this, she, with Sister White and her associates, felt it very keenly.” That Marian was upset and weeping herself to sleep night after night eventually got back to the family, according to Obadiah, and they worried about her because the health of their sister was not robust. Dudley M. Canright, one of Ellen’s biographers, wrote that Marian “was one day heard moaning in her room. Going in, another worker inquired the cause of her trouble. Miss Davis replied: ‘I wish I could die! I wish I could die!’ ‘Why, what is the matter?’ asked the other. ‘Oh,’ Miss Davis said, ‘this terrible plagiarism.’” [3] Fannie wrote, “…I have to some degree believed that [Sister] White was a prophet of God; but some things in connection with using matter from other writers and the editorial relation that were out of harmony with my early school training and the maxim’s applicable to secular literature and uninspired literature, started doubt and questioning as to why this relation was not thoroughly acknowledged, and the sources of quotation credited as in the authors of the world. [Sister] White writes about quotations in the last page of the preface of Great Controversy as follows: “The events which have marked the progress of reform are matters of history. . . In some cased where a historian has so grouped together events as to afford, in brief, a comprehensive view of the subject, or has summarized details in a convenient manner, his words have been quoted; but except in a few instances no specific credit has been given, since they are not quoted for the purpose of citing authority, but because his statements affords a ready and forcible presentation of the subject. This uncredited matter and an unacknowledged editorial relation with some human frailties in [Sister] White, with dull spiritual perception and a distorted vision of truth, caused me to lose sight of the sacred character of the work, and I lost to a great extent my realization that the work through [Sister] White was “the testimony of Jesus.” I tried for years to harmonize what seemed to me inconsistency in the work with a worldly literary maxim that requires an author to acknowledge his editors and to give credit to all works from which he quotes. In contending that [Sister] White was not open and honest about this matter, I supposed myself standing for a principle of ordinary justice and literary honesty….” [4] All the evidence proves Ellen G. White was a false prophet. She contradicted the Bible many times, and she made well documented, false prophecies and then said it was God who showed her those things in vision. According to Fannie Bolton and Marian Davis (Ellen White’s closest literary assistants), she plagiarized the words of other authors and then tried to cover up her theft. When the Seventh-day Adventist Church promotes her they are telling people to believe in a liar, a fraud, and a wolf in sheep’s clothing. The Seventh-day Adventist Church has allowed Ellen G. White to destroy people’s lives, twist the scriptures and defraud their members. They need to acknowledge that Ellen G. White was a liar and a false prophet and discard her writings altogether. The reason the cults are not Christian which includes the SDA is that they deny the essential doctrines of Christianity. Mormonism, for example, denies that there is only one God in all existence and it denies that salvation is by grace through faith. The Jehovah’s Witness organization denies the Trinity, the deity of Christ, salvation by grace, and Jesus’ physical resurrection. Roman Catholicism has a completely false gospel of keeping false rites & rituals by their priests & the supremacy of their Pope which replaces salvation by grace. In the fourth and fifth centuries, as the Gospel was watered down, the true worship of God and the inner conviction of the Holy Spirit gave way to formal rites called “sacraments.” The official Roman Catholic churches also began to practice idolatry in showing and venerating images of Christ and Mary. Pagan practices and philosophies flooded the church, introducing a shallow, diluted appearance of Christianity. For more on this see the excellent website www.proclaimingthegospel.org/ . See our playlist "Dealing With Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Idolatry & the Virgin Mary" with 290 videos at kzbin.info/aero/PLFFA8D69D1B914715 . Therefore, they are not Christian, either. When choosing a good church to attend we recommend to listen to good preachers who can be found on our most popular video on KZbin with over 2.4 million views so far called "Top List of Outstanding Bible Teachers & Preachers on SermonAudio.com for Personal & Group Study" at kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGeUZmaPpt9jrsk . See also "Essential Bible Doctrines That Must Be Believed To Be A True Christian But Also Prove Who Is False" at kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJTdmpSjf9mGisk . THE ESSENTIALS The Essential Doctrines of the Christian Faith are as follows: The Deity of Jesus Christ. Salvation by grace. The resurrection of Jesus Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ, and Monotheism. THE NON-ESSENTIALS A sampling of the non-Essentials is as follows: Eschatology (how and when the end times will unfold, the rapture, the millenium, the role of Israel today, etc.) Earth Age (young v. old earth creationism, etc.) Bible translation preferences (King James v. modern translations, word-for-word v. thought-for-thought, etc.) Ecclesiology (church government models, the roles of clergy and laity, are Apostles and Prophets for today, etc.) Soteriological Systems (Arminianism v. Calvinism, etc.) Demonology (can a Christian have a demon or not, teachings on various kinds of spiritual warfare, etc.) Sacrament practices (wine v. grape juice, leavened v. unleavened bread, who can administer, etc.) Modes of baptism (sprinkling v. full immersion, infant baptism, etc.) Worship styles (liturgical v. contemporary, hymns v. choruses, choirs, drums v. organs, etc.) The gifts of the Holy Spirit (tongues v. no tongues, cessationism v. continuationism, etc.) Worship observances (Sabbatarianism v. Sunday worship, observance of special holy days, tithing, etc.) Food and drink (consumption of alcohol v. abstinence, kosher v. non-kosher food, etc.) Various do’s and don’ts (tobacco consumption, playing cards, dancing, makeup, “acceptable” dress, movies, etc.) Etc., etc., etc. This is far from an exhaustive or comprehensive list of Christian non-essentials - it seems endless at times! So, if we know what the essentials are, we can then look at a church or denomination (or even a person) and ascertain if that church is Christian or not by whether or not it denies the essential doctrines that make Christianity Christian. Finally, to answer the question of which church is the true church, the true church is the cross-section of believers in all churches that adhere to the essential doctrines of Christianity. When trying to find a good local church, it’s good to remember that, just like the people in them, no church is perfect. However, there are many important issues that should be considered when choosing a church: 1. What is being preached and taught? The Bible is clear that we should only listen to those who preach the true gospel of Jesus Christ (Galatians 1:6-9). If any other message is being given in its place, then it is not a Christ-following church and you should move on to another one (Ephesians 1:22; 4:15, Colossians 1:18). The church should be speaking God’s truth as given to us through His inspired Word, the Bible (2 Timothy 3:15-17). The truth of the gospel is that we are sinners (Romans 3:23), that we need a savior, and that Jesus is the only way of salvation (Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9). 2. Is the church a place of fellowship and community? The early church of Acts 2:42-47 “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 3. Is the church focused on reaching out to others, outside the church, with the message of the gospel and practical service? Christ commanded us to carry the gospel to the ends of the earth, to all unreached peoples (Matthew 28:19-20). 4. Does the style of music fit with your taste or preferences? The older hymns are often rich with truth and important doctrines that can bolster our faith, and there are also many newer songs and choruses that are uplifting and encouraging. Here's a video I put out concerning this "Psalms, Hymns & Spiritual Songs: Biblical Worship - Colossians 3:16; Ephesians 5:19; Psalm 150" at kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGbEoJR-qcmIlcU . 5. Best choices: 1.Try doing an internet search for Reformed Baptist churches in your area & see what comes up & go visit (there's not that many of them out there but I believe Reformed Baptists are the closest to what the Bible actually teaches doctrinally - farese.com/ ). See also www.firefellowship.org/about-us & tms.edu/find-a-church/ 2. If that doesn't work try a Bible believing Baptist church but they can easily be filled with many typical problems so you must be discerning in what each Baptist church you come across is doing (there can be the good, the bad & the ugly so be careful). 3. If that doesn't work try a "Bible Church" but you'll have to investigate what their doctrinal statement is in each case. 4. If that doesn't work you could try an Orthodox Presbyterian Church but beware of Pentecostal & Charismatic churches - see our video series starting with "Blasphemous Charismatic & Pentecostal Mayhem #1: Mad Delusional Experiences Replace Scripture Alone" at kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZPZaIyprrKZZqs. May the Lord bless you in your search for a good home church to attend regularly. Hebrews 10:25, "not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near."
