One of the most thrilling historical novels set in the Byzantine Empire during the last Siege of Constantinople is “The Dark Angel” (original title Johannes Angelos), of prominent Finnish writer, Mika Waltari. Truly epic.

In 1920 brother of my grandfather Piotr Grochowalski volunteered to defend the Polish newly regained independence. He died in July defending the Białystok area against the Russian invaders. 103 years later we still remember his sacrifice for our homeland !

I wonder if the globalist cabal had anything to do with Napoleon's disastrous invasion? It's just the kind of thing they do: orchestrate a war that results in the deaths of 100's of thousands of the finest men, thus decimating the gene pool, and at the end they move in to take advantage of the power vacuum left over from the chaos of the catastrophe....

For Mikhail Tukhachevsky or the "Red Napoleon," the battle for Warsaw sealed his fate. If he would have taken it, he would be able to push into Germany and avoid the danger of Stalin's purge (If Stalin even rose to power). But he didn't take it, and due to his past affiliations in politics (he used to be a "reactionary" and pagan) he was purged. Probably one of the best military minds was lost due to one mistake.

Sad story of regular Polish people bravery and resilience for luxury lives of the rich parasitic so-called elite, while regular poles got nothing and had to live poor lives in oppressive dictatorship. While the USSR of 20s was not just rapidly developing economy, but a center of cultural innovations. Modernism, Avantgarde, Constructivism, Futurism, Suprematism, Stanislavsky (Polish origin?) acting concept, "Russian film-editing" (Eisenstein and others) and so on. Economic freedom with reasonable combination of free market and dirigisme, for the beginning of the XX century impossible level of human rights: women are absolutely equal to men, all the people can vote, even LGBT aren't persecuted and so on. Open borders, free education with rapid increasing number of any sort of schools, free nationwide healthcare (Semashko system). Unfortunately that country tends to get the worst way at any road split of its historical timeline. Finally it got Stalin, most of the achievements of 20s were brutally destroyed and most of the country terrorised by the moronic psychopath and finally nearly destroyed in 1941, when the US industry and British navy saved the USSR and gave it all it needed for victory, which was Pyrrhic anyway. Had Poland joined the USSR, maybe the psychotic never got the power and the world history changed to better side. 😉

Kind of disappointed that you completely left out Grand Dutchy of Lithuania, which not only participated around the time of thin invasion but secured several crucial victories. Overall, they just traded blows, some that have devastated GDU, some that repelled Mongol raids deeper in the territory. I understand that consequences of Mongol and Lithuanian clashes are not well understood, some historians are saying Mongols were simply not interested in occupying Lithuania and put no effort in it, but that is counter intuitive considering they were out for blood just for fun, so opposite point of view is that they found formidable fighters in territory of Lithuania and costs of advancing into that territory were just too costly. So Mongols tried, failed or achieved vitories at very high cost and ultimately didn't go further into Lithuania. Again it is just strange that that series of well known battles are left out... and it isn't like Lithuania was some sort of tribes at the time... at this time Lithuania was already a united into Kingdom.

Literally gotta love polish and their history. Always getting attacked from the 3 huge forces Barbarians (Germany), Russia and Hungary. And yet still always striving for peace and holding their grounds. They were under occupation for 260 years 1600-1900. Because these 3 forces decided to take over Poland after Poland defended all Europe from the Ottoman Empire. Then survived first world war where they fell victim to these forces, second world war, where these forces once again decided to slave and scavenge the polish nation. Just pure insanity. And Poland still keeps going... Just insane.
