I'm gonna have to disagree on the McMahon/Owen Hart thing. I think I was a sophomore in HS and me and my buddies used to pool our money and get the PPVs at someones house. We were watching and we had no idea what happened for the longest. It's super easy to look back and make decisions now on stuff that happened in 1998. It was an unprecedented tragedy. It was a PPV with the crowd and the home audience that paid. They didn't know Owen was gone immediately. They knew he was in trouble but he very well could have been in stable condition by the end of the show. It wasn't like he splattered on concrete from 50 stories. He hit the rope, turnbuckle, and the refs shoulder. I know some of the guys in the back were shook but I am almost positive that he gave all the guys the options to not go wrestle after Owen fell. I think it was D-lo Brown who was discussing it one time. VM is beyond repugnant and sadly he is a billionaire with my contributions small as they may be. Anyway... there are tons of other things to bash Vince for but continuing that show IMO isn't one of them. I think in retrospect it is obvious the choice that should be made and now that he has been confirmed the devil... I understand people arent going to give him the benefit of the doubt very often... even when there may be nuance in perspective of the time and era
@NCUTcinematicproduction15 күн бұрын
That’s a very good take, hindsight is all we have unfortunately, we weren’t even born yet/maybe a day old lol, but we understand when it happens at that given time, with a show on the line and employees you have to feed there is only one option and if he has given the wrestlers the option to leave and take the night off then he has done his part. Don’t worry we all have contributed to Vince’s billions I can say myself, I would have funded half of the PPV’s with how much I’ve spent! Thanks for your perspective

The way they develop Arthur Fleck and the concept of the Joker character is really interesting and unexpected. There's potential for a good story there. If they just focused on making that story engaging enough for an audience and ditching the whole musical idea, it could've been a decent sequel. I don't think that was their goal though. This being the most expensive prank ever would be more plausible.
@NCUTcinematicproductionАй бұрын
Absolutely, most of the source material was great, exactly why the first joker did so well and the avenues they could’ve gone down to expand were limitless. Who knows, maybe Todd Phillips was playing one big joke because he had already made all his money from the first so didn’t care how this one went?
@jimmyjohns3261Ай бұрын

it feels like they misunderstood their OWN character and how everyone perceived him. People felt for Arthur because he had relatable qualities in that he was lonely, he was outcast. the writers obviously saw this and saw the insane (mostly male) young boys that decided everything about joker including his murders was a good thing- and they chose to completely shit on the character of Arthur. there was so much possibility for this film, and so many directions it could’ve gone in 😭.
@PeremptorАй бұрын
The issue with the movie is it wanted to lecture and admonish the audience that watched the first movie and that sensed a kindred spirit in Arthur as someone not to different from anyone that's fundamentally dissatisfied with this shitshow we call civilization in the 1970s or the 2020s and to be properly put in their place as losers who ultimately deserve what Arthur ends up getting.

It was hard to watch all the character growth just disappear and see him regress to the Arthur from the beginning of joker 1 and essentially rendering that movie useless.

This really reminds me of girl with the dragon tattoo. When the villain says " "Let me ask you something. Why don't people trust their instincts? They sense something is wrong, someone is walking too close behind them... You knew something was wrong, but you came back into the house. Did I force you, did I drag you? No. All I had to do was offer you a drink. It's hard to believe the fear of offending can be stronger than the fear of pain but, you know what? It is, and they always come willingly. "

This now makes me want to watch that movie so we’ll definitely be adding that to the list. Some of the dialogue referring to peoples people pleasing nature, and how they don’t want to offend really did set the mood for the movie in a great way.

I watched this new American one first last weekend then the next day streamed the original. I think I prefer the remake but the message in the original is better. I wish the remake stuck to the original a bit more and didnt provide a nice happy ending
@NCUTcinematicproductionАй бұрын
We’re so glad to hear you enjoyed, and thanks for the sub, welcome onboard! Sorry about the title, we actually mentioned the original when we recorded but the audio cut out which sucks, the original was definitely a more cutthroat, straight to the point affair. It definitely put that happy American ending swing didn’t it, rather than that sudden jarring ending for the original. We enjoyed the fact the characters were a bit more fleshed out in the American version but the Danish version will stay with me forever so it was definitely far more impactful. I wonder the more western audiences would’ve had the same reaction if the American finished that way too? I mean it was really brutal!
