There’s a beautiful painting of Bobby Sands that hangs in my dining room wall here is Las Vegas ….. its been hanging on my wall for 28 years … Gerry Adams brought three of them out from home back in 1996. I got one of them as a gift …. It will be passed on to my son when I go …

Heartbreaking. The doctor looks like Gragory Campbell lol. The 2 mates one protestant and one catholic, one with the blonde perm and his mate, I wonder what happened since? The troubles made enemies out of friends. Catholics just wanted equal rights and a vote. Until then, they just accepted being 2nd class citizens. Bronze age book called the bible has destroyed millions of lives because its so ambiguous. anyway peace and love to everyone

I was born in 1979, grew up and still live in Glasgow. I had heard of the name, but had never learned the history of Bobby or any of his friends. I come from a mixed family. Maybe that's why they never talked about it.

IRA most effective ‘guerrilla army’ of all time says convicted terror chief Adair on Tommy Robinson podcast Loyalist gang used Tina Turner classic as theme song but Adair says Provos most sophisticated paramilitary grouping John Toner Sun 31 Dec 2023 at 07:00 Ex-UDA kingpin Johnny Adair believes the IRA were the most effective “guerrilla army” of all time and admitted he wouldn’t have the courage of the Hunger Strikers. Convicted terror chief Adair (60) has also fondly remembered narrowly escaping jail with his nipples intact after a prison officer attempted to remove his jewellery with a hacksaw. Speaking to career criminal and anti-Islam hate preacher Tommy Robinson on his podcast, Adair was full of praise for his deadly enemies of the past and revealed he would have refused to go on hunger strike for his cause. Robinson says: “I’ve seen the IRA described as the best guerrilla warfare army there has ever been”, to which Adair says: “And they were, that’s a fact and I’m not scared to say that, I’ll not tell a lie, of course they were. “Their bombmaking technology was a step ahead of the British Army, the army tried to keep ahead of them and the IRA was always in front. “Even the Hunger Strikers, I grudgingly respect them men too, they starved themselves to death for a political cause, dedication at the highest level. “Now I’m dedicated, and I knew one day I could lose my life and the IRA would get me, and I accepted that because I didn’t know what day it would be. “These hunger strikers, death was staring them in the face for 60-odd days. If I was asked to give my life on hunger strike? No I wouldn’t do it, I wouldn’t have been as brave to do that. “I was willing to accept that the IRA might kill me but I couldn’t see it coming, they’re sneaking up behind me or riddling my car, it’s unexpected. “But these men knew what they were doing, volunteered to die and starved themselves for a political cause.”

The former ‘C Company’ boss made the claim during a podcast with far-right activist Tommy Robinson. During the conversation Robinson said: “I’ve seen the IRA described as the best guerrilla warfare army there has ever been”, which prompted an unexpected response from Adair. I'm from that time a sixties baby it was bleak from there on in, right up to the early 90s. We were still in the grip of poverty. Well before drugs ever came in it was bleak. The violence in the home and schools in the 80s was dying out but the poverty continued. There are many damaged people from those generations of the 60s people who became parent's themselves in the 80s. Only thing changed are the building's. We said back then that it would get worse and it has, look around who did it get better for certainly not the people in this documentary or their family that came after. It's the truth, same on the south side same conditions persist. ✌️☘️

A lost opportunity to have those British, who were never happy in Ireland, to be repatriated to the "Mainland" and give Ireland its independence, which, by way of a democratic election, is what the majority in Ireland wanted.

Because this series was made when the whole field of sound for films was less developed than it is now in 2023, because the speech is spoken quickly and is sometimes dense with unfamiliar names, ideas, nuance, the closed captions become essential to following the story! And they are phenomenally dreadful! Quite fixable though, no?!
