With the amount of chemicals used everywhere and on everything, no wonder all the fish are contaminated. What did people think would happen when billions of gallons of chemicals are used every year.

I remember it as well. Dad and I used to fish for perch and sheephead from Edgewater Park in the '60s, right next to the mouth of the Cuyahoga. Except we pronounced it Cuya-hoe-ga rather than Cuya-hog-a.

Awesome video, I've played with aquaponics about 10yrs ago and had great results back when I lived in Hawaii, but it was a very high maintenance system but non the less I was very proud of what I created! Now I live in Nevada. Unfortunately it would cost too much to heat the water in winter and chill the water in summer. so now I grow in my garage with a small DIY hydro system. I always a place in my heart for Aquaponics Aloha Dean

They should try Mississippi grass shrimp, they’re native to Ohio. If they can get the nauplii to live they will have a great trophic level benefit there. I do this with other animals and I’m trying to get those shrimp to work for me but I can’t get them past nauplii. There is a study “biological means of increasing productivity of ponds” very old, but the last chart on the report is fantastic. They did trophic level studies, very useful for bass pond and is applicable to this. Use complex structure, simple structure (jargon) for breeding and living space, and then as a hunting tool for higher trophic levels, respectively.

thank you for this presentation Dr. Huntley, this seems like a very practical way to go. I presume this process can also be used to remove or reduce the microcystin concentration from the lake at the critical times. reducing the harm to wildlife etc. until we can figure out how to manage the source pollution of our lakes.

Scientists generally believe that coastal pollution from human sewage, agricultural runoff, and other sources contributes to red tides, along with rising ocean temperatures. 5 On the Pacific coast of the United States, for example, red tide occurrences have been increasing Chemicals from farming, factories, sewage treatment plants and other sources can become dissolved in water on the land.

There is innovative technology that can remove toxins, CECs from bodies of water that have been proven here in California via Cal polytechnic in 2015. Studies were done on HABs, CECs utilizing multiple oxygen allotropes. Several government water agencies have allowed studies on large bodies of water. Studies are being scheduled out for bottled drinking water for health benefits. We are here to help. Terra Azul Tech

@@daviddesjarlais2764 The technology can control and get rid of the HABs. Proven environmental projects that have been overseen by federal government water agencies have proven the technologies positive effectiveness on HABs. So we cannot help those that are already ill from HABs, but we can help prevent future HAB effects on the environment.

Hello Mr. Lucien. We are an innovative proven technology the first of it's kind with international patent to control, remove HABs. The technology was studied by University here in California, Cal polytechnic in San Luis Obispo. The technology can be placed directly in both fresh and sea water to treat algae blooms immediately and can remove algae in as little as 30 or less without harming aquatic life including plants. The technology is cost effective and can operate on solar, wind or hydroelectric power. I am the inventor of the technology. We are here to help. Terra Azul Tech, Inc.

I don’t know if you guys have freshwater mussels in the states but apparently they make great filters and actually die if they haven’t got enough nutrient rich water to filter. Source was future food systems in Melbourne Australia. I’m interested in doing brook trout and perch and growing leafy greens like watercresses, manche, maybe tomatoes. A lot in it though.

The same problems in the Black sea in Russia.Pure water, air is the greatest wealth on earth. If the supplies of drinking water disappear or will be poisoned mankind will die-to drink, eat, breathe diamonds, dollars impossible. The next wars will be for drinking water.A large amount of algae-Cladophora Ulvophyceae and Zostéra marína is nailed to the Black Sea of Anapa in summer.During the flowering period-algae kamka-Cladophora Ulvophyceae and Zostéra marína turn water into green jelly, green islands of mud are formed on the beaches. When algae-Cladophora Ulvophyceae and Zostéra marína begins to rot-an unpleasant stinky smell of hydrogen sulfide emanates from it,which only aggravates the bleak picture.Doctors warn about the dangers of this algae Cladophora Ulvophyceae and Zostéra marína.Biologist Veniamin Golubitchenko:"Until 2003-Cladophora Ulvophyceae and Zostéra marína algae lived on the beaches of Anapa. Then it reached Vityazevo.A blooming sea in the vicinity of Anapa is observed in 2021:in the village of Blagoveshchenskaya,on the Bugaz Spit. Kamka is produced due to an increase in phosphorus and nitrogen compounds in the water-that appear from the waste products of people. In Krasnodar-south of Russia and beyond Russian consumer supervision has warned many times:swimming, fishing in Kuban River is prohibited.Russian consumer supervision informs that the water does not correspond to the quality in terms of microbiological qualities,sanitary-chemical,organoleptic,especially after rains.People can't swim in the Black Sea and can't fish in estuary of Vityazevo-Anapa because-hotels has no sewerage-don't want to pay for sewerage and throw sewage from the sewer there, feces into the Vityazevo estuary.A number of violations have been identified-the embankment along the estuary is all littered with construction debris. And everyone is cowardly silent.
