I remember renting these Gumby cartoons on video 38 years ago at 4 and the piano kid scared the hell out of me

That kid with the train was not too friendly. Gumby had a lot of guts telling him he had a punk planet. That was a great comeback.

Is it just me, or is the zookeeper also the policeman who wrongfully arrests Gumby and his Groobee for kidnapping in another episode, even though Gumby and his Groobee were both innocent, and it was another Groobee who did it?

I sure hope Gumby learned his lesson after this. No more get-rich-quick schemes for you, Gumby!
@waynemacfarland1546 Жыл бұрын
Whoa! Wasn't that zookeeper being a little too hard on Gumby? It's not like Gumby deliberately tried to rip him off. He didn't know the Zoops turn back into watermelons when you get 'em wet. The wizard who sold him that potion should've told him that. It definitely taught Gumby his lesson however. No more get-rich-quick schemes for you, Gumby!

(2:57) There's that Lionel 2035 steam locomotive again, on Kusan's 2-rail O-scale track. But the "whistle" it has in this episode is pretty weird (I prefer the very realistic steam train whistle it had in "Train Trouble".)

(3:33) There's that Lionel 2035 O-scale steam locomotive and tender! They animated it on Kusan's 2-rail O-scale track for better realism (in real life, being a Lionel train, that locomotive can only operate on 3-rail O-scale track).

These 1965-1969 Gumby's were very short comapred to the earlier ones or other caroons, just around 4 minutes (the concurrent LINUS THE LION-HEARTED segments's episodes, can count,too.The FRACTURED FAIRY TALES,among some other TV cartoonds, 5 minutes long, FELIX THE CAT, TENNESSEE TUXEDO and YOGI BEAR though were standard theatrical length, approaching 10 minutes just like the earlier GUMBY's of the 1950s-60s!(FELIX and initally GUMBY,of course, two part cliff hangers with the first GUMBY a three parter.)
