i was trying to edit the pillar of autom first map (cryo one) and once i got to a certain point (presumably a a load zone in game) the map stopped existing what do i do, as its gonna get super annoying if this is what gets in the way of my halo mod. oh alos how do i change the alegance of npcs. i want allied slugmen and or grunts but dont see the option annywhere

Go to the top left of the Sapien window and look for the 'Edit' button. Click on that, and then click on 'Switch BSP.' That will show you all of the BSPs that you can switch to in that level. As in the AI you've placed with spawn points etc? Yeah, they'll only appear when the scenario starts in tag_test/in-game, or if you use the command (ai_place *squad_name*). There should be more about it in the next two tutorials.

Yep, there are tools available for the other Halo games, including H3! They're all quite similar to one another, so if you can understand CE's tools then you should be fine using H3's tools and learning all the cool new stuff they can do.

Any reason why I can make a copy of a single player map - A10, A30 etc and it will open in sapien, but not a multiplayer map? Any help would be appreciated.

Anyone know why, that when I make a copy of the .scenario file it can't be opened by Sapien. The originals work fine though and in the debug it has the error code 0x00000002 'The system cannot find the specified. ' need to get the following tags: levels\a30\a30_TEST.scenario Any help would be appreciated.

I just found the answer to my problem, if I open Sapien and make the copy to the .scenario file it works, but when I went through tags, levels etc and copied it, it wouldn't work.

Will you be releasing the original unfinished mod in CE? If not, please consider releasing it because CE and the 80s style looked so good! It could get released alongside the final Halo 3 version as to not risk spoiling anything. I just read a comment about the possibility of releasing a completed demo of the CE version which sounds amazing! Though, an incomplete version in the meantime would be great.

I've tried every single thing to understand how to use scripting to make the marine ai be friendly and it frankly just isn't working, some of my file names on things aren't 1:1 with your video but I do not understand what I'm doing wrong. mission_scripts with the text you typed out isn't translating into using Tag_Test, spawning in, and getting shot by the marines placed nearby. Is there any sort of clarification you can do to help me out? EDIT - It's been like 30 something minutes and I finally did the "show file extensions" and it fixed everything. Man do I love modding. On a serious note though, thanks for making this, and the other tutorials.

Hey there, sorry for the late response. Unfortunately CE Sapien doesn't have a mode where you can enter 1st or 3rd person mode and run around the level. That feature was introduced in Halo 2. The best way to test out a level is to use tag_test I'm afraid.
