Hello. You need to be a temporary resident for a few years then you can apply for permanent residency.

Your visa is only good for a max of 3 months, so staying 4 months without leaving is not possible unless you have residency

Moving to Costa Rica is like Californians moving to any other state in the nation. Leave them alone and keep Americans in America. What do we do, raise the price of everything, change the food they eat and make it impossible for them to buy land because we are dumb enough to spent 20 times what it was worth before we went there. I send Californians because they want to change everything for the worst then they want to leave because they can’t stand what they created only to do it all over again.

Getting a gun carry license permit over there has it gotten easier or tougher the last 20 years? Can the temporary resident get the permit or you have to be a permanent resident?

hi Wayne. Building price can vary widely based on style of architecture , building materials, etc. Pools can run $15,000 - 40,000 on average for a smaller to larger pool. Solar panels can run $10,000-50,000 depending on how many panels, if you have battery backup among other factors. Cost per SF to build is $90-180/SF (again depends on complexity of build). Average cost to build at the beach now is around $130-150 per SF.
