The real side of metal detecting!
@julianarpАй бұрын
I have had a lot of success for my first 3 years of detecting. A GW button, Reales, Seated half, Jersey copper, shoe and baldric buckles, a belt plate etc... Sometimes I get the side eye at the club, but we all live in a great area for detecting and I am not hesitant to door knock like some of the men are. Also I have the time to detect almost every weekend and more in the summer (teacher here!). Of course like everyone I have had spates of nothing, sometimes 8 hour hunts with nothing to show. But one of two great permissions can really change things. Detecting is like real estate location, location, location! I really don't know how youtubers do it. Even with all my great finds, I can only think of 5 or 6 outings that would have been video worthy over the past few years.

The problem with youtube is you can make money from it, but to do so you have to get and KEEP an audience. Once money is involved, greed can rear it's head. A lot of content creators are fakes. I stick with educational videos, and will never have enough of a following to make any money. I'm fine with that! Soon, I'll probably be out of ideas for new videos anyway.

Ok, man, gotta give a big “thank you” to you. I finally got a detector for Christmas. Today (01JAN2025) is my second time using the machine. I went straight to a soccer field at the local elementary and BOOM! I wasn’t in that field for more than five minutes and found a simple 14k gold ring. I knew right then, I’m absolutely hooked! Thanks, man, and be safe out there.

Good advice. You really do have to research what exactly you're getting as "extras." Back when I ordered my Etrac from Big Boys Hobbies, they sent me all high quality items in the bundle including a Lesche digger, a Garrett Pro-Pointer, the good Koss headphones, and a very nice Minelab detector carry bag. I use a leather carpenter's pouch for my finds that will basically never wear out.

Unless the Vanquish 340 put in the 10inch coil cover on buying just the metal detector that is the only one that I know that did not have a coil cover for the price you pay. But I do agree some of the lower end detectors with a package deal have garbage for those things. plastic shovel you can buy one at wal mart for like a $1. I bent a metal hand digger first hole. But when you do buy a higher end package deal I feel you get better add-on's. Other then that good Advice..

The main thing is to buy from a dealer, not SCAMazon or the other online sources. My Manticore and Equinox 900 were much, much cheaper through my dealer. Thanks for watching!
@digginggopherАй бұрын
I ordered a deus 2 for black Friday, and my dealer threw in a bunch of packaged stuff for free, didn't even tell me, it just showed up with my detector, included was Finds bag with belt Gloves Nylon/wire brush on a retractable lanyard Cloth digger sheath Keyring Car air freshener And most importantly, glad he didn't forget this, a lucky pulltab 😂 cause the brand of all the stuff he gave me is called "pulltab gear" The finds pouch actually looks okay, it's definitely deeper than my grey ghost ultimate catch all pouch, but I don't like the layout quite as much, not sure what I'm going to do with it, maybe keep it as a lender if anyone wants to detect with me sometime The digger cloth sheath is ever so slightly better than the sheath that comes with a lot of diggers, but I have a leather sheath from grave digger so I guess the cloth sheath will be a lender too The pro pack for the triple score is actually kinda good, great price and you get the better smaller elliptical coil and a pair of headphones, that's all, no shitty digger or shovel or anything Even diggers that should be good can be shitty, I forget if I paid $50 or $70 Canadian dollars for a Garret digger after I broke my first Amazon special, and I broke the Garret within 6 months too, I heard the Nokta digger ain't much better Right now I have a Excalibur Shovels digger and I'm really digging it, but I'm under no impression it might just brake one day too, so I keep another Amazon special in my backpack, hopefully if I break my Excalibur it can last me till I order another good one, been looking at the predator hand digger for my next one I do like when pro packs come with a baseball cap though, I have both a simplex and a legend baseball cap, and also a Minelab baseball cap, though not all of them came with a pro pack, my deal has thrown them in as freebies before And speaking of cheap equipment, the nokta backpack is HORRIBLE quality, I've had both straps ripped off the body, within a short time period too I didn't even have it long, I sewed both them back on with dental floss and it holds better than factory now, I had the adjuster clip break on the bottom of one of the straps, I tied the two straps in a knot and now that strap isn't adjustable, I had a hole wear into the bottom of it, but that might be because I used to put my shovel in in sharp side down, I sewed that up with dental floss too, and now finally my zipper broke, going to add some Velcro to keep it closed next But now that I have a deus 2 I can buy the XP 280 backpack which looks really high quality, hopefully I don't have these issues with it, but it's expensive $200 Canadain dollars, but if it doesn't break it will be worth it

I have the XTerra Pro. The only reason I'm thinking about upgrading is because of the bouncy VDI on the Pro and I'm looking to dig less trash. At the same time, I hear more expensive models have some of the same issues. ie: the Equinox 900. I also go to the ocean once or twice a year and would like multi-frequency.
@freedomdiggersmetaldetecti89642 ай бұрын
Bouncy numbers usually indicate trash. Listen to the tones. Digging less trash comes more with experience and practice than with an upgrade. Check out my video on how to dig less trash. Multi frequency is definitely a plus on wet sand. Good luck!
