I have used the 6k pro a lot of times and am not sure if the boxed style is an improvement. The display on the side seems weird. And then you dont have the iris wheel from the 6k pro. A lot of my issues would be solved if they had a monitor that could control the bm os (which is amazing)
@PagosaCreative
@PagosaCreative 4 ай бұрын
While i hear your complaints and understand let me just give you some counterpoints. If they put a display of the same size on the top you couldn’t rig anything there, certainly not a large top handle. They’d have to shrink the screen and you’d need a monitor anyway. Very similar to how nearly every single other box camera operates. There is an iris/control wheel on the side. Personally I’m planning to get one and also grab a video assist as well as the EVF for shoulder rigging.

What are the stakes? If you’re a solo filmmaker then yeah, you’ll be fine. You might get some rolling shutter artifacts. As long as you aren’t doing whip pans all the time it should be ok. In a year or use I’ve never had to scrap footage because of it. If you can’t have rolling shutter you’ll have to pony up the cash for a global shutter camera at 3-5x the price.

I don’t really ever bother with campfires. The few times I have found myself in this scenario I just don’t get super close or if I’m putting wood on I do so carefully as to not send up a stream of sparks. It’s inevitable that you will wind up putting a patch on the jacket. Had mine for 4 years and have been lucky. The previous one I had for 5 years and had just one small hole.
