My top 5 for 2024, has these bands : 1) AARA with Eiger. The BEST BM album of 2024 hands down💯💯 2) Oranssi Pazuzu 3) Firtan 4) Darko US 5) Fleshgod apocalypse 😊 I ve seen a LOT of people liking Akhly s new album. Good one BUT for me it wasn't a good album. It offered NOTHING,unlike the previous amazing album. It was a weird mix of blackened trip hop with some ambient. It didn't have any raw aggression at all. It s an OK album,but it s not metal. It s just a glorified OST😊

Love some Greek black metal, never checked out Suicidal Angels as I don't delve into thrash to often. I've bought more than I've listened to this year and neglected spinning a lot of 2024 releases, Skeletal Remains, Marduk, Inquisition, Necrophobic, Spectral Wound, Tsjuder, Kvaen to name just a few. The price stops me buying a lot of stuff on release. I'll have to check out the new Infernal Sea. Haven't bought any 2024 heavy metal releases but I know Judas Priest has had a lot of praise for their album. You got some great black Friday deals. I'm thinking I'm going to see a lot of lists where I haven't listened to many of the choices as I haven't listened to any of these. I'm going to have to get the new Saxon just for some Brian Blessed! I will pick up Rotting Christ at some point especially as it's been touted as their best since Theogonia. Definitely a stacked year of metal 🍻🤘🏻
@nononsensemetalreviews3 күн бұрын
I'd definitely recommend checking out Suicidal Angels, they do Thrash and they do it well! I have had a similar issue this year, the cost of physicals is just ridiculous these days, it is difficult to justify and makes supporting bands a challenge. There are a lot of releases that seem to be scoring high positions in a lot of "top album" lists that I wont purchase based on price. Definitely pick up the new Saxon and Rotting Christ albums at least, they are incredible! It has been such a stacked year for Metal, here's hoping 2025 is just as heavy! 🤘

I am largely in alignment with you on this one, I see the two as quite different, both benchmarks but different subgenres. Like you I struggled with FETO initially, but saw Napalm live for the first time shortly after, and it all clicked for me then. This was back in '89, I was lucky enough to see them on the Grindcrusher tour with Bolt Thrower, Carcass and Morbid Angel. I have seen Napalm a few times since, and living in New Zealand still get to see them occasionally. If they tour try get to see them, they are totally unique, authentic and crushing live. I enjoy a variety of Napalm albums through the ages, and they are more than holding there own as they mature, which very few bands can say they do. All the best Cheers Colin

15:05 - "Malicious intent" is NOT a socio-political song. The lyrics for that one was written by Shane Embury, who rarely takes on political matters (contrary to Barney). He mostly writes about personal stuff, like his own feelings, way of living, lowpoint moments, depression etc. "Malicious intent" is about broke, failed relationship/friendship between two individuals. It has nothing to do with politics.

I've known Onslaught since my high school. The first song I've ever heard was "Prayer for the Dead" (Killing Peace). Since then it's been one of my favorite thrash metal bands. It's far superior to names like Kreator, Destruction, Sodom even Testament (IMO). Unfortunately, they changed their lead singer for the most recent album and I still have to remember that the legend Sy Keeler is no more. Let's be honest his version of "A Perfect Day to Die" is far better than the one on the record. Still have to add Generation Antichrist to my collection. All this is to say that they are criminally underrated. Cheers man! 🤘🤘🤘
