Please get rid of that xt30u connector. Fried a board with one because u can (without any force) get contact the wrong way around. Wasnt tripple checking the polarity and accidentally tried to plug it in the wrong way.... 80€ mistake. The regular is 1mm longer and thicker. The walls easily bend on these u connectors after some time and because of that u can plug it in backwards for a few mm.
@McLogo76Күн бұрын

@McLogo7610 күн бұрын
It is tight but manageable. With the Goku F405 HD 1-2S ELRS v2 I used plastic nuts and the grommets, then a cut half grommet under the VTX and plastic nuts. I used the 220uf cap that came with the goku AIO just to be sure.

I have HDZero for racing and love it. My freestyle quads are still on analogue because I'm cheap! I'm interested to hear you have tried Walksnail and HDZero on this same quad. If you could get Walksnail for the same weight as HDZero which would you choose to fly for freestyle and why? Subscribed. Thanks.
@McLogo7610 күн бұрын
That is a good question and I think the solutions are quite different from their strength and weakness. I love both but would go for WS for freestyle because of the image quality and signal but if latency is an issue then clearly HDZ. I think it really depends on your style of freestyle and how sensitive you are to latency. it might be a good advise to try WS from a friend to see if it works for you. The same for pilots who have only flown digital to try HDZ. Btw. I've never flown any larger HDZ VTX than the whoop boards ;)

How u like it ?? I to put mine on hold because of the flywoo fc and motors and I use Walksnail
@McLogo7614 күн бұрын
@@sosdeathvalley I like how it flies with 5g less weight. But I'm not sure it makes sense to change from a working HDZ setup to a 120$ aio setup on this particular frame. I had tried the walksnail version and found the canopy awful (think it was some brittle PLA or PETG) and it was just a bit too heavy for the 40mm props. Yeah you can cruise around with it but it doesn't like loops, dives, freestyle etc. I think this fairly heavy frame would work better with 2" props but its too small for them.
@Greg__K15 күн бұрын
Looks pretty sweet! I just rebuilt a 1s quad that's kinda similar. I think with 1002's they should do a refresh and use the gemfan 45mm props, or even some light weigh 2". I've been using the 2008's on another toothpick with 1002's. Both quads feel pretty similar.
@McLogo7615 күн бұрын
@@Greg__K Thanks, it‘s definitely limited with the 40mm with the weight and propwash but the frame is also too heavy for 802s. The FR16 frame is too small for 45mm. They would need to make the frame larger, but then they already have a 2“ 2s Nano 20.
@Greg__K15 күн бұрын
@@McLogo76I own the Walksnail version of the 2s, and it’s a great quad. I just also really like my 1s 2” toothpick builds. Those I’m running 1002 motors with the 2008 props, or 2015. It’s a really good combo. I’m just saying, if they were to do a refresh of the FR16, they should make the frame a tad larger and go with at least 45mm props. Especially since it already comes with the 1002 motors. Just a thought.
@McLogo7614 күн бұрын
@@Greg__K I think you are right. I might try removing (full or partially) the prop guards of one of my fractal F75 pro max as it uses 45mm and 1002 motors. I want to see how it flies with the 1S Walksnail vtx 😉

@@McLogo76 I haven't tried a 1s WS quad yet. I was always concerned about the weight and battery sag causing loss of video. Removing the ducts will definitely save a good amount of weight. I had a little frame laying around, and added the Pro ducts, but didn't like the way it flew. Half ducts were about 3g, and full ones were over 5g. It's very noticeable on 1s 30g build. It's nice to have ducts, but not really needed outside IMO. All my 1s stuff is Analog, but looking to get into HDzero. I heard that they're going to announce a new goggle soon? Have you heard anything about that? My favorite toothpick WS build is 2s, 1103 motors, and 2023 props. It's super powerful and quiet. I wonder how that would compared to your 3" 2s toothpick build.

@McLogo769 күн бұрын
Thanks a lot my friend 🙏I only had the runcam for a very short time. But normally with ND filters on bright days you you try to use iso100 and set shutter to 1/120 (double the fps) and the white balance set to what brightness it is. Some also set sharpness to low and add it afterwards in post. Now you just need to pick the right ND for the brightness of the situation. Hope this helps. Take care

How did you get the case off the Walksnail Avatar HD Nano Kit V3?
@McLogo7619 күн бұрын
It's quite easy. You remove the 4 screws holding it together. Now it's only held together by thermal paste - you can now lift the heatsink parts with an Ifixit kit or a small screwdriver. Just be careful no to push it into the board. And then once it's apart, try to clean/scrape of the thermal past from the chip without pushing it on the smaller parts. I guess there must be clips online on youtube - it works with all the Walksnail VTX's.

It's about 2-2.5g lighter but depending what mounting solutions you use. I cut down the 3d printed grommets that came with the F75 Fractal kit and shortened the screws. I think the weight saving definetely also from less hardware you need with only one board. ;) And you basically lose 0.8g with the Lux Cam 2.3g vs the old Nano lite 1.5g.
