@@ronaldsewell2221 it would no doubt present challenges and make for a much more difficult road if gunner had to start but with the Oline and RB room we hv in '24 id argue gunner could do as much, prolly more than fromm in '17, Stockton's best skill doesn't show up in non contact practices.. he may not even be the starter in '25, but even if that happened, the sky would be far from falling imo

Last time uga had 4 RBs demanding carries was probably Gurley, Marshall, Chubb and Michel
@dawgscentral
@dawgscentral 6 күн бұрын
Yeah, I feel like even early in Kirby’s career they went 4 deep pretty regularly though. Chubb, Michel, Swift, Herrien and Holyfield all got 50+ carries in 2017. Swift, Holyfield, Herrien, Cook and Fields all had 40+ in 2018 (I know JF was a QB but he was more a runner than anything that year). In 2021 that group had White, Cook, McIntosh, Milton and Edwards all getting 49+ carries. Then last year Beck was 3rd on the team with 58 attempts and Paul was the RB with the 3rd most rush attempts at 29 carries. Last year was really different in terms of the lack of balance in the RB room

@@dawgscentral all are great points.. I do think we see the total number of carries by "true" RBs, be up in '24 nonetheless.. I'd say our 4th most will have over 30 carries, probably Frazier.. reminiscent of swifts role in 17 as a true frosh

I am going to say it. Kirby Smart is a better coach than Spurrier ever was. Under Kirby Smart the Georgia vs Florida rivalry is completely one sided. Kirby Smart has smashed the UGA vs UF rivalry. I am also a BAMA fan. But what I just said was 100% true. Kirby straight up owns the SEC East. Florida is straight up irrelevant now.

Not certain of any correlation. As a player at Florida, Spurrier put up points on a lot of teams. As a coach he was notorious for running up the score on anyone he could, Georgia or anybody else. Smart has won a lot of games at Georgia and has had his fair share of lopsided wins. That Florida/Georgia rivalry has been a good one for a long time.

Sure those times were some special times you experienced in the 90’s. I’m sorry you lost your brother, but I’m glad you got to have that experience with him. Always appreciate fans who can tip their cap to a rival when they’ve got it going right… Spurrier was must watch television for years. What he did at Florida changed the whole status of the program, and what he did at South Carolina was historic as well. Florida might be a bit down right now, but they won’t stay that way. Hope you enjoy the season man. - Graham

@@jdtheguitartist 12 has been such a staple of the offense for so long that I think people will be surprised by how much it still is run. Everyone is sleeping on Yurosek. The staff has big plans for him and I think he could be used further towards the outside of the tackle box with Delp/Luckie being inline a lot. Lawson was one of the stars of spring in 2023, but had that injury in fall camp and never fully regained his confidence. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ben becomes the #1 passing option at TE and is used as a hybrid WR/TE type player who works the middle as a stand-up Y out of the slot. The beauty of that is that UGA can go 4 wide with him and still keep a TE inline to help chip an elite pass rush threat. They could also technically be in 12 personnel with Delp/Luckie and Yuroseck then motion ETN out of the backfield presnap to isolate him on a LB. Hit a big pass play off it then go hurry-up and mash out of a heavy set with ETN running out of the backfield. It’s going to be FUN TO WATCH!

You do realize USC was terrified to do anything that would have the NCAA on there back until the Tennessee court ruling came about. Just now USC is starting to structure NIL for High school players. USC coaches do not contact any college player before they enter the portal. Does that mean players don't contact each other and talk, sure they do, but USC thoroughly vet all their transfers to make sure they are a fit in both team and character. Check all of our transfer out and their is a common theme to them as they are well spoken kids who did well in the classroom and worked their butts off to develop into players capable of playing top level football. I happen to be very familiar with a player at USC and I hate when guys get on social media and start talking about things they know nothing about and state them as if they are insiders and heard it from the horse's mouth.

All of us on the beat knew that Christen Miller was considering transferring to SoCal starting 2 weeks before UGA’s spring game. Someone connected to USC reached out to AD Mitchell through an intermediary back in December 2022 as well. This spring, both Christen Miller and Mykel Williams were offered over 7 figures each if they would hop into the portal and shore up USC’s DL before they enter the Big 10. UGA was able to retain them, but it is absolutely true that these things happened. I never said Lincoln Riley called anyone himself, but someone with USC has tried to tamper with UGA’s players plenty in the last 24 months. That is a fact. I’m sure they used intermediaries to avoid breaking NCAA rules. I don’t think Riley is stupid.

@@Saul.2910Bro it's common knowledge that the Reggie Bush sanction till have a impact on decisions that are made at USC mostly which have been extremely cautious to do anything that would be perceived as undermining the NCAA rules. There is a zero tolerance for football players being involved in domestic violence, intoxications, sexual harassment, ect. The standards for ethics and integrity were made very clear to Lincoln Riley from the higher ups at the University. So when this guys starts saying how coaches are involved in soliciting players before they enter into the portal I call cap on that. We ended up getting a defensive tackle from Wyoming after striking out for about 4 guys rated way higher. Does that sound like a program having bag men working the underground. People will believe anything on the internet.

I don't have a problem with you having opinions that is fine, but when you start saying stuff like Bear called Georgia asking to come back that is flat out not true, and if Bear is making all this money which I'm sure he is, why on earth would he call Georgia when they could not pay him what USC is paying him. Not because they don't have the money, but because they have too many defensive lineman that would ask for a raise or it would have a negative impact on the locker room. So that makes everything else you state as fact just plain old gossip.
@dawgscentral
@dawgscentral 2 ай бұрын
Bear announced he was entering the portal before USC came up with the NIL money to resign him to Los Angeles… Between those two things happening, people in his camp reached out to Georgia and asked if he could come back. Georgia said no thanks due to the way things went down last April. There was a lot more to his exit than was ever made public. It’s not “gossip” at all. I cover UGA for a living and it is literally my job to know these things.
@jamesstovall1839

@@dawgscentral College football is a dirty business and a lot of times stories and rumors get spread as recruiting tactics to taint the program and influence high school kids. USC is going after and have verbal commitments from 2 Georgia kids. Suggesting that Bear Alexander was on his knees asking to come back would really put a bug in these kids ears considering we have one of the best defensive line coaches in all of football at USC and Bear was with him during the spring. They use people like you to spread these "gossip" stories to add credibility to it. Again, why would Bear come back to a loaded Georgia defensive line room where he already understands he would not be guaranteed the playing time and certainly not the cash he could leverage at USC. Just pure common sense tells me your story is suspect.
