To be honest i though i was gonna need chain tyres on this map when transporting cargo but u really dont. Even on the right side of the map there is only 1 uphill road that is icy leading up to the Metal beams factory but u dont even need chains to get up there, just stick 1 set of tyres to the side of the road in the snow and u can get up there even with a heavy load. No doubt the map looks good but i really dont like how they have restricted your paths with that conveyor belt thats coming down from the mountain and cutting off the top and bottom parts of the map. If u dont find unmarked shortcuts then this map is a bloody nightmare trying to drive around.
@zorshix2 күн бұрын
You're absolutely right about everything you said 👍

I managed to get up that waterfall near the sawmill for the medium logs with the Azov 7 without the suspension upgrade if u can belive that. But the long logs was a hard no so i´m here to find a decent path up to that sawmill. Guess i try that forest path. The medium logs on this map isent that bad but if there is a long way to load up the logs and dont wanna drive back and forth alot u could put on a log loader, Low sadle and the 5 slot Sideboard trailer and manuely load logs into the trailer to then drive mutch closer to the unload point where u then load them over to a truck that can pack them. Works with long logs aswell on that trailer. A regular 2 slot bed/trailer works for short logs.

I would like to point something out that you may not have previously known, low- and low often deliver the most possible torque from your engine often without any excess wheel spin , so if you can't get going fast anyway put it in low and move along at a slow but steady pace
@zorshix3 күн бұрын
Yeah low is a good choice. I often use auto until low is needed now days. I've noticed many times when I can't get moving in low switching back to auto gets my truck going again.

i was curious how you went over this one when you mentioned it in your other video. as i did this on my case in different circumstances as in hard mode you can imagine how much harder it made the region.. anyways i digress. i hauled the long logs into a sideboard bed, even loaded a couple extra for safe keeping, well i followed your route almost to a t, minus i cut off at the bunker immediately instead going around that rock, among a couple other minor stops, i only have one vehicle with chains (WWS) so i was on OHD 2s, once i got to the rock road where you were yeeted like a piece artillery at the Fletcher, i turned left and made my way through that pathway along the stone circle thing, once i snaked up to where you go down the destroyed part the main road and pulled into the drop off where i brought the acetone with its long log attachment,completing the mission, i would definetly say your method is quite decent, some parts are a little sketchy but got the job done ps warthog plus ice with non chains is hilarious
@zorshix4 күн бұрын
The path you took is another route I take when not using chained tires. It's a good alternative and I should have mentioned it on this video. Good job, this one is definitely more difficult on hard mode.
@hamakaze13644 күн бұрын
@@zorshix sideboard wise honestly I didn't have any issues, if anything I had more trouble with the one you have to take the logs to the broken power station back near the armoured cars, I originally didn't realize there was limited logs at the station, on imadra, the journey back was easy, besides the part where I had to back up a hill because I didn't Wana lose my unpacked logs... That was fun, and at least I had my 745 configured for logs, the hardest part honestly was needing a pit stop to get some gogo juice. I never realized a special gearbox was more efficient

I remember playing through this map, collecting all the building materials onto trailers and storing them at the garage for "easy" access. My roads where uttered fuckered lmao. I didn't know about the restart thing to reset the map yet either, so a massive 10-12 hour sesh really churned them up. I think this is also where I finally gave up on the P12. I remember using the Azov(everyones fav) and the I think one of the heavy duty trucks for long logs and had a crane + medium log attachment on something else with a trailer. My god the number of spills. What would you think about having the crane truck behind so it's easier to reach forward to pick up logs from the lead truck? Thas my usual set up as I can get a bit rowdy with my routes sometimes.

GREAT episode! The shortcut with the pair of trucks and long logs is amazing! That icy waterfall route is awful in every way! Lol! I'm a huge fan of the P12 as well. Even the vanilla truck is OK for me since I don't mind taking forever to plod through contracts. My favorite is the P12 Orca II, if yer into mods! Super versatile rig that can go from dead stock, to completely OP and anywhere in between! Folks should check it out if they're alright with using mods! Overall killer content here! This region can be really gnarly, and get frustrating pretty quick. But again... Having an incredibly well thought out game plan, and efficient route mapping is clutch! It makes the game enjoyable, when otherwise I think it gets almost overwhelming! Thanks for takin us along, and can't wait for the next one!

I am curious how my approach will be for when i eventually attack this, i manually load mine into a sideboard to avoid the bqck n fourthing, dump the logs into the ground then load them into a waiting truck/trailer , with practice it isnt honestly that bad, and saves on fuel. Never thought bout using the special gearbox for power, smart thinking Amendum - unpacked logs weigh way oess so easier to traverse the heavy mud bogs
@zorshix5 күн бұрын
I've done my fair share of the sideboard approach too. It does work well, especially if you can use a truck that has the ability to use the logging crane while having a low saddle (Paystar 5600TS). The logs do have less weight unpacked, but they still have weight. If you're hauling 3 loads (9 logs) it actually gets pretty heavy. Albeit you're only making one trip instead of three so definitely better on fuel.
@hamakaze13645 күн бұрын
@@zorshix yea.. especially the metal beams, I was carrying 2 in my bed and one on my hood held down by my crane and I broke through the ice and rolled it, thank God I had a truck behind it with another beam on it. I didn't enjoy logging at first either for the same reason. I decided to make it a challenge to get better at it and now I enjoy it a lot. Top 5 long log trucks? My choices would be different than the average person cause I don't like to play with the best trucks. Each situation calls for a different class IMO. If it's lighter terrain I like to use: - Zikz 5368 with offroad tires - White Western Star - Cat 681 (free anniversary DLC) - Bandit with offroad tires If it's harder terrain: - Pacific P12 - Pacific P16 - Dan Extreme terrain: - Kenworth - Mastadon - PLAD I usually don't use the last category but sometimes the situation requires it. 👍

i litterly took a hiatus from gaming for many months, my fleet for this op i finished 2 weeks ago was the fuel efficient azov 64131 or somethin that thing is very capable and versatile , i use this to haul the large trailer, next in my fleet was the trusty WWS that was my crane truck, did try to cheese with the bandit but you can imagine how that went. anyways, i packed a step 310 onto the trailer with a metal detector. as much i hate the ice, kola has to be one my favorite regions, especially being a ship nerd with the wrecks. i never bothered with the 750, but good lord she is capable in hard mode. and to finally have my brloved aceton... i was so happy as i love it.

@zorshix6 күн бұрын
@hamakaze1364 it is expensive yeah. You can use the fuel from the superheavy fuel tanker in the second map to shuttle fuel back to the first map to get you quite a ways through the region. It's like 5000 liters of free fuel. There's also a few maintenance trailers and scout trailers to supplement.
@hamakaze13646 күн бұрын
@@zorshix thanks, I plan to burn a bout 20 grand in kola on refilling before I move over so I should have atleast some reserves before I move. My biggest worry honestly is where the repair zone is, considering I have 3 trucks with no suspension rn it is going to be a fun one whenever I get round to it
@zorshix6 күн бұрын
@hamakaze1364 you could always restock repairs in Kola at the factory and fix your trucks before moving. Not sure where you have the service trailer located that you got for free by the Acteon but that would be easier than repairing in Yukon. My opinion, once you get to Yukon head straight to the second map and unlock the garage. There's a service trailer right up the road from the garage that you can use to get fixed up. Then head to the railway station in the same map and restock repair points and get fuel from the super heavy tanker (they're in the same spot). No matter how you do it, make sure you're having fun 👍

order of completion in those mission is very impressive. I didn't even know you can pick that trailer up before it's required by the mission. Could you explain the off-road g-box H gear for me? What exactly does it do? Why would you use it?
@zorshix11 күн бұрын
Yes I can, the high gear is equivalent to locking it into 3rd gear. If you let the rpms drop too much it will stall out. You also can't start in high gear. It's best used when climbing hills, going through light mud, and going across rough terrain that would normally slow you down in auto. If your engine isn't powerful enough it will just stall out when you put it in high. It's very useful when you learn to use it properly. It can also be used as a cruising gear when you want to maintain a decent speed but not full speed. Hope this helps. 👍

Epic run. These maps took me so long. I just meander about picking up whatever I'm next too and spend half my time tryna figure out how to take as much shit with me in one run as I can, even if it takes twice as long. Take 3 trucks with me, pick up this on the way, bring a big crane because I always like to fantasise I'll use it to load instead of just insta loading. Now load up twice as much as I need so I got some for the next job. My god I make it so much more difficult. I also do the thing wher you load logs into the blue semi trailer, then load them where they get dropped off. I've spilt so many bloody logs, lmao.

That's a good way to play though. It gives you time to really understand the region, which paths to take and which ones not to. Now that you've got the Kr 120-AT, give the archaic transmission in the TUZ 166 another shot. (It's the TUZ's secret unique weapon) You're short shifting anyways, now that you've got a strong enough engine for your weight, why not get a wider ratio gear spread gearbox. 3rd gear is basically 5th gear (or high gear), but burns less fuel than any other transmission.
