Hi Katie, where do I enroll to be registered as a online - Music teacher? I have my Doctoral degree in "Prenatal Psychology and Education through Music". Part of my Ph.D was to write a Music Therapy - program, starting with the baby in the Womb, all children, Adults and the elderly, with immense results on brain development!

I've never heard of them til now.

Now I know where to start in this journey. Thank you Katie~

Hi Katie, I love to write music and have used in in my home preschool in the past. The past 19 years I have been busy raising a family and stepped back to be a stay at home mom. With my youngest in high school I am looking at doing something to earn an income again. I am wondering if you know how I protect my music from just being copied and passed around if I post on teacher pay teacher

I’m confused. Are you promoting starting your own business online or are you saying that we should use a platform? Because a platform is not a personal successful business, right? You’d be working for someone who already has a business.

Is it possible to work from the phone on this site?

I have yet to try the Google business setup, but I hesitate as I live far away from the wealthy suburbs and main university campuses where I have gotten most of my students. Aside from getting clients from WyzAnt (and University Tutor long ago), none of the other approaches have worked in my own personal experience. Several of the affluent schools in the area do not want any interactions between teachers and outside private tutors, and flyers have been a colossal waste of time in the past. Any referrals I get are random and sporadic from clients I have helped over two decades. I wonder if there's another avenue I have not considered. 🤔

I just set up my first class, geared towards elementary aged students. Is there a way to add a section of the same class for middle schoolers? I would like to duplicate my class but just put middle school grades in where it asks the age group that I am teaching. It is an Intro to Piano course, so you can see why I would like 2 different age groups. I am new to Outschool and just set up my first class! Thank you so much for all of your help!

What if you’re an American citizen but living in another country for a month or two?

Is Canva enough to create engaging lessons? Wondering if there is any other teaching software out there by now.

These suggestions are only useful if you are looking for students who live nearby. If your target market is thousands of kilometres away in another continent most of them are redundant. Sites like Preply mostly have very low hourly rates. $5 an hour might be a good in Bangladesh or parts of Africa, but in a country such as USA it will buy only crumbs.

RE: Google Maps. Why do students care if the instructor is local or not when the clas is online?

The problem as I see it as far as posting lots of class ideas and seeing what sticks is that you need to be ready to actually teach the class if someone signs up. It's a lot of work to prepare to teach one class. Even if they are all related, it's too much to be experimenting on the platform with several classes at one time. That is if that is what you are saying.
