i've been watching military/AF guys videos, and the mindset that they have is so great. yes, you must keep pushing through the day, look at the positive side of things, and accept it. i needed that. i've been struggling so much trying to find my own purpose in life, it's been hard... but these types of videos help me a lot, so thank you for sharing!! all love from Poland

Amazing video man. I’ve been really considering recently joining the Air Force and your genuineness and honesty, vocalizing your feelings, really helps me feel more confidence in joining. It’s good to see men like you serving our country, not just in your job, but with videos like these, helping those who are struggling internally. Way to be an example and represent the best country in the world. Awesome video man.

First, BMT can we horribly stressful for some and IS very stressful for 99.9%. So really find out as much as you can before you go, and REALLY consider whether you want to risk it. It was a traumatizing experience for me because I had a parent who died right before, and the AF didn’t really care. Too much stress. BUT if you decide to go, the fewer things you have to worry about, the better. At BMT or home. I gave myself a year to get in shape. Still, PT was one of my least favorite thing to do at BMT. We ran for 26 minutes. At 5 am. I was not a fan of the upper body strength days, even though I could do 45 pushups on my last test. Too many weird exercises. Get in shape. Know that it might take a while. The MTI aren’t really as scary as they try to sound - unless you p*did them off. Don’t be scared, just respect and do what you’re told. Try to learn the ranks before you go, and get some tips on marching. Good luck, you’re gonna want it. The actual job is much easier.

People joke around calling the Air Force the easy branch, the Chair Force, things of that nature, and then proceed to make their lives as difficult as possible in the other branches, as if the benefits aren't all the same throughout the military. Also, people don't do their research on the Air Force. There are many labor/dirty jobs in maintenance, avionics repair, just for example.

5 years late but just for anyone else who actually has this problem, the way that it went sounds pretty normal for how members get in processed into a finance office. When you out process from your losing finance office, they do a transaction on your pay record that stops entitlements such as your previous base entitlements other than ones such as your base pay, BAS, COLA. This is to prevent overpayment which would create a debt for the member since they are no longer entitled to that base’s BAH once they depart from their last duty station. When you arrive at the new base, you can either receive a DLA advance that you filed for at your losing base or get DLA with your travel voucher. Your DLA doesn’t pay out from your pay record a sits part of your travel voucher which pays all travel entitlements such as flights, taxis, port lodging/TLE/TLA. This voucher is paid separately from your normal paycheck. It sounds like the base didn’t gain her before the mid month or EOM cutoff, meaning that she would not be able to receive those entitlements even if she were to have the station gain transaction processed by the finance office correctly when she came in. Say she got there on Jan 7th and didn’t in process with the finance office to fill out the travel voucher and do an SG with them until a week or two later. She would’ve already missed the cut off for the 15th check and if she came in on like the 20th, there’s a good chance, especially with finance offices on busy bases that have backlogs of vouchers, it’s like to be processed that week but probably not in the few days before the end of month (1st of the month check) cutoff which is usually the 20th-22nd. If that isn’t done she wouldn’t have gotten it for two straight checks but would have been still getting transient BAH. Of course she would stop being entitled to that the moment she got to her gaining base there and the new BAH would’ve started. The overpayment of transient BAH and her new base BAH amount would be a net positive with the back pay in BAH. I know it can be rough but sometimes it’s a matter of little things like that. Hopefully everything was smooth after that.

Hey respect to you brother. Respect to you for the work that you do in cyber and for acknowledging the negativity you receive, but big respect to your work in cyber because like what many commenters said, wars in the future are gonna be fought much more in cyber space rather than with big guns and bombs. The infantry guys are just as important but their work will have less importance one day. Also you seem very down to earth, specially because you acknowledged the mental health issues in and out of the military. I'm 30 years old and I've had my struggles with depression in the past but I'm actually considering joining the airforce (mental health specialist job) and maybe god willing I can make some positive impact on the military mental health stigma. Even if it's only a small impact. Keep it up!

Basic training is basically brainwashing. All the classical methods of brainwashing (breaking, assimilation, instillation, and reaffirming) are present and brainwashing can really cause you PTSD and/or psychological trauma. It is actually intended to cause psychological trauma. This is a form of trauma-based-mind-control. The military tactic of separating recruits from their loved ones, fathers, mothers, wives, children and babies and separating the recruits from familiar environments and familiar individuals is a massive psychological pattern break. It severs many of the thousands of intricate psychological links between people and their historical context, making the brainwashing process easier from there on. Boot-camp consists of getting yield at, talked down to, bullied, degraded, ordered, etc. The brainwashing is implemented for one reason: to make you obedient to your commanders; to murder on command without question. If the soldier cannot do this, the brainwashing has not worked. How many soldiers do you see disobeying orders?

Do I need Top secret clearance to apply for cybersecurity in airforce?
@kolog28608 ай бұрын
Yes. Technically you don't need it to APPLY for the job, but if you do get the job they will do a thorough background check on you to make sure you qualify for security clearance. They just need to make sure you're not part of any terrorist organizations and that you're not a spy. They will ask for multiple references including neighbors and co-workers, which they will each interview. If you have a clean record, there's nothing you should really worry about. If for any reason you DON'T pass the security check, they'll either just give you another job, or discharge you depending on the reason the clearance was denied.

Thanks for this. Started studying last weekend for this. I’m currently on a journey. I’m 24 turning 25 on Oct 5. AFSF is definitely a YMMV situation. There is a lot of things all SF troops will experience but at the end of the day it’s different for everyone. I did 21 years active and guard which also led to a 21 year federal LE career (INS Deportation Officer and Criminal Investigator USMS). If you go into it try to maintain a good attitude, look for opportunities and make the most of it.

I'm so disappointed that the Air Force decided to get away from ABU's and went to the Army uniform. ABU's were definitely the sharpest looking uniform in the US Military. I'm enlisting in the very near future regardless. I just hope that the AF decides to go back to ABU's while I'm serving lol.
