So happy that you work with a good team in a good hospital... Unfortunately everything is against this video in our hospital.. I'm an or nurse and I worked in all kind of fields but doctors always treat so angry and shout out us... I'm planning to imigrate to some other country just like my coworkers... 😢 The hospital even don't give our salary on time... You can't even image the situation in here....

Hi! For me it was worth it since they don’t only re-iterate things but also teach you ways on how you can retain all the information you’re learning in a span of 3-4 months. I would do my research on them beforehand though, so you can get the best review experience.

Wow! So it’s actually $100 cheaper to buy in store in New York? Because the website has it for $480. I’m visiting in November so I guess I might as well wait
@BellaUnfiltered
@BellaUnfiltered 3 ай бұрын
From the time I bought this bag, which was in November of 2023, I do believe there has been a price increase in 2024. So that online price you see ($480) would be the same as in stores. They are cheaper in Europe though. Right now this bag is priced at 350 euros which is about $386.

Hello, What is the difference between OR nurses, and surgical technologists ? In Europe we only have OR nurses, so i'm a bit confused on what american OR nurses do in the OR. What is the ratio OR nurses/surgical techs ? They have the same role/jobs in the OR ? Can a OR nurse scrub in ? Or they only circulate ?

@BellaUnfiltered
@BellaUnfiltered 3 ай бұрын
Hi! The main differences are the roles and responsibilities they take on in the OR. Surgical techs are trained to handle the tasks required mainly for scrubbing in the OR, whereas OR nurses are able to scrub and circulate. (I’ll try to make a more in-depth video differentiating the two roles)
@riderpsychopate
@riderpsychopate 3 ай бұрын
@@BellaUnfiltered Thank you so much, in France scrub nurses are getting paid more because they have more training than circulating nurses. To become a scrub nurse, you need a master's degree, otherwise you can only circulate in the OR.

Hi! You can do 8, 10, or 12 hours. With the hours of standing, it’s definitely important to have comfortable shoes. But in general, working in the OR can be physically taxing some days so it’s something to think about

Hii Bella, I'm just graduate from nursing school and been assigned to OR, will start to work in this July, I'm so afraid that I'll get scold or make any silly mistake in the OR, because when I was student time, we only posted to OR for 2 weeks, the other time we were doing floor nursing / other specialized area. Honestly I didn't expect that I'll been assigned to OR therefore I'm really scare and worry .. I wish I could catch up faster..
@leevang7435
@leevang7435 5 ай бұрын
The OR is a very specialized skill set and is very different from floor nursing. If you're a new grad, I'm pretty sure they'll be aware of that and orient you to the OR during orientation. However, your concerns about being scolded as it relates to the culture of the OR are understandable and valid lol. I had the same fear cause it's what you always hear people talk about. I would say this is just dependent on the surgeons. 95% of my surgeons are amazing and nice, there's just been a handful out of the many that I've had bad experiences with. MOST surgeons when you make a mistake, as long as you own up to it, apologize, and fix it quickly, they have been nice about it. You're human, they're well aware of that. There is so MUCH knowledge that you're bound to make mistakes (different companies, systems, types of equipment, specialties, different surgeon's preferences, etc). You just have to learn to brush off things. 99% of the time surgeons are not mad directly at YOU but the situation. Your job is to just problem-solve through cases, and do the best you can. Cause that is the best you can only do. That being said, don't let any surgeon verbally abuse you. Stand up for yourself and let management know because that is unacceptable. I've not experienced it, but have heard of doctors throwing sharps, verbally abusing, etc that goes far deeper than a "mistake" and needs corrective action. I was a shy, reserved person but somehow found my way in the OR. There will be people there to support you, you'll never be alone and have a team with you (one of the reasons why the OR is amazing!). You'll learn so much about yourself and apply what you've learned in the OR in real life too such as standing up for yourself, being more confident, etc. The OR kind of forces you to because you're there to care and advocate for your patients. Good luck in the OR!

Hi! First off, congratulations!! It’s okay to be nervous and intimidated since the OR is a different world in nursing. My advice is to be teachable and open to every opportunity you get to learn. And like the rly nice comment from above, sometimes it’s more so dealing with the personalities in the room. But don’t hesitate to communicate if you are unsure of something. I find that it’s better if people know that you are new to things rather than making assumptions. Best of luck! 🍀

You described OR nursing perfectly! The main difference for the OR I work in is that we are required to take call on weekdays, weekends, and holidays, but rotating through all the nurses. So it doesn't come around super often, but still a requirement for us. I'm assuming I work in a smaller facility than you do though, as we don't have set weekend staffing. I've been an OR nurse for 3 years and I love it sm!
