I'm considering buying one of these to bring to large car show events that my family and I attend throughout the summer. Some shows are so big you can rent 4-wheel scooters at the event, but I'm thinking maybe I buy one of these to stick in the truck of our classic car. My main concern is how long the battery will last throughout the day. In the past when we have rented scooters at the events you may do 2-3 large laps around the events and everyone takes turns using it. Any insight on how long the battery lasts before needing to recharge? And is it possible to recharge one of these with a power bank?
@MaddMax
@MaddMax 4 ай бұрын
I don't think a power bank will do it, but The charger draws 2 amps for about 8 hours on a recharge. Range depends on elevation changes, but on flat ground I'd say 10-12 miles comfortably.

Check out Cobra Springs for the 500e. It lowers 40mm front/50mm rear from stock. It won't be slammed, but looks and rides great with larger wheels.

WHATS UP! Guess what Talaria Boys, I get my TALARIA XXX BLACK EDITION (LUNA TUNED) TOMORROW! I am so excited I cannot freaking wait. It feels like I have been waiting FOREVER, well I've been waiting since December 18th, not very long I guess but feels like forever to me... LOL. My first question is, are the wrap decals easy to apply? I've ordered an awesome "SUPREME" wrap/decal sticker kit specific to the TALARIA XXX model. Question #2 Is there anything extra that I will need to apply my aftermarket footpegs? Such as a bracket or something like that... Question #3 Does the TALARIA XXX come charged?

this kit is similar to mine from e-mx shop (first gen talaria). my kit came with a cable which you can directly connect to your brake sensor connection instead of the magnet. the only sucky part is it only applies to 1 brake lever. I chose the front brake due to it being most used. the extra led in the kit is an added accessory light possibly an rgb color. the led tail light is bright enough to be useful especially at night.

It looks like that if I paid for someone to follow the directions, and they are inaccurate, I am unsure if I want to pay for their confusion. The things hanging from the rear diffuser are needed, right? What are they? What year is your 500e? Maybe that affects the way the parts fit?
@MaddMax
@MaddMax Жыл бұрын
The directions are tough to follow for the rear only, but that is because of poor design. The right way to really design the rear diffuser is to make brackets like they did that bolt from the rear bumper to the crossmember, but instead of doing a nut and bolt setup, weld nuts onto the brackets and make them by machine for accuracy. The little kennards that are stuck on the rear diffuser I personally think are unnecessary, but they look okay. I don't think it makes a difference on range either way, the flat panel does that the most. Mine is a 13, all of them are the same underneath up through the 2019 model year.

I picked up the diffuser and front belly pan. Should be arriving tomorrow. I considered making it myself, but a large enough sheet of ABS is going to run around $100 or so in my area. Plus my time and getting all the tools and hardware together. I decided not to go for the center portion. Maybe some day I'll consider making a larger undertray and diffuser. I didn't really want to deal with all that mess right now. I just want to pick up some efficiency so I can run the A/C during the summer and not worry about range.

Great review. Just wanted to know your opinion as to whether or not it is really worth it. I think it sounds really good straight from the factory. Exhaust tips are cheap! What say ye? Is it really worth the time and effort? I think the factory exhaust sounds pretty damn good to my ears. Further, a 392 XR will likely become a collector's item. I am so happy with my stock XR 392, I really think it only needs a winch (It came stock with OEM steel bumpers and removable end caps). Is moving away from stock really worth the money and time? Over to you.
@MaddMax
@MaddMax Жыл бұрын
It depends. I really like the fact that the stock exhaust gets nearly silent when closed up, but just changing tips does not solve the issue of having the factory muffler hanging so low. Now I do not plan on doing any serious off-roading, but for those that do, having that muffler hanging down is a big problem. Additionally, if you are concerned with it being a collector's item, the car can be 100% returned to stock, whereas denting up a stock muffler or cutting off the stock tips and welding new ones on is not really reversible.

@@MaddMax I agree that it looks like crap. Madd Max, In stock trim, it is the perfect sleeper when the baffles are closed. When you open them up, most folks are looking around to determine where that incredible exhaust note is coming from. I wish there was a real HP gain to make the juice worth the squeeze. Cheers, Gary

If you're parting out a car and winding up 'even' you're not, as you're discounting all of your time and the opportunity cost that time is worth to you (unless of course that's already factored in when you arrive at your 'even' number.) It's a mistake people working for themselves in any business involving buying and selling of goods make all the time, and it will KILL you. Ancient post I know but point remains for anyone coming on it now...
