Adding to my comment below - was magical hearing this 2 person band playing live music in the park. Sounded familiar but couldn't put my finger on it, then poof. Right bac in college in 2006 when I found this video. Always loved that music towards the end. "Ride On - by Christy Moore" kzbin.info/www/bejne/bX6tg6B3bp6efsU

Just so stories from PZ. Just add water and hydrothermal energy to a random mix of early earth chemicals and…life is easy. Next question?

Pretty much the universe is expanding from itself. Think of it less like a balloon getting bigger and more like everything in the universe become more distant with eachother similar to how the Moon is getting farther from Earth. Hence why the expansion is universal in all direction from any perspective. We are technically STILL experiencing the Big Bang as long as the expansion still continue. It will either end into two polar extreme of too distant with everything for anything to exist or it reverses causing everything to close in with everything until there is no room for change exactly like how it was before the Big Bang. In both scenario, time become an irrelevant concept because an eternity can pass without any change to mark its passage.

It will take many Generations of Humans to reach Prox b. With our current fastest rockets, it would take approximately 75,000 years to zip to Proxima b, the closest exoplanet to Earth.

I think we should learn how to mine the hell out of NEO's by extracting all the minerals and leaving them so small they'd vapourize in Earth's atmosphere by the tine they reach us.

6:34 It is NOT going to pass us by, and "fly away". I had a Dream (NIGHTMARE!!) in 2006, where I saw something fall from the sky, into the Ocean, and a HUGE Tidal Wave/Tsumami had formed because of it, and it pushed a Large Grey Naval Ship all the way to the shore, where it was left laying on its side -- Helpless.

I saw other HORRIBLE, HORRIFIC and TERRIFYING things in that Dream!! It had left an indelible mark on my Soul, all these years later. I basically saw the HORRIFIC events described in the 'Book of Revelation' of the Bible. READ IT!! ACCEPT 'JESUS CHRIST' AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR, BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!

At 0. 49 you state “an area of earth’s orbit where magnificent constellations come into view”. Not being an astronomer, other than looking through my ornithological scope, it’s not struck me until now, that there is an enormous amount of night sky where there are no constellations. Am I understanding this correctly? If yes, then why? Are the constellations in a certain arm of The Milky Way? Or what…?

Almost 6 yrs old and this video is still perfectly relevant. I think it's still a good value as the goto mount can be used with other telescopes. I was considering this telescope at first but I wasn't certain that I'd stick with the hobby. I opted for spending a whopping $169 on a Sarblue 70mm mak setup. 2 days after receiving that scope, I was hooked. My son bought me a Celestron 130mm Starsense Newtonian. A short time later I grabbed a Sky Watcher 102mm mak and a Sky Watcher tripod. 3 Weeks ago I bought the Seestar S50 for getting some pics of DSO's. I love it. Now I'm looking again. I like this because it has a wedge but it's not a huge upgrade from my 102mm. Ugh. I hate decisions like this.

I wasn't able to get mine to work. Everything seemed fine, but when I clicked on "Orientation" it wouldn't plate solve and would give me the message "Looking for stars -- move telescope to an area of the sky containing stars, then press the 'Orientation' button." Maybe the part of the sky I was pointing it at didn't have enough stars. Or does focus matter? The stars on my iPhone looked like little Unistellar symbols; they were white dots with a black cross through them. Maybe it isn't focused and that is the problem.

Omg i found tonys channel. Holy crap. I am a huge fan of your videos sir. I used to be subscribed to your channel years years ago on another channel i had. Of course back then had no clue on how to access my old channel due to password issues. But man my number 1 favorite was the deep hubble field video you did. The narration was awesome as well. The view on top of that voice sir was breathtaking. That was i think 17 18 years ago. Some how i lost your channel and have been searching off and on to find your channel. Of course my memory isnt that great so i couldnt remember your name or the channel name. But tonight looking up how to upgrade my telescope so i can do some night watching. I came across videos talking about the james webb. And it just popped in my head hubble. I remembered your video starting off with hubble or deep hubble. So i typed that in and your video popped up as the 3rd or 4th most viewed. So i seen the name of the channel and new right away where i was going. But it took years for me to figure that out. Im just not a smart person when it comes to our newer technology. But i do have a youtube channel and now have subbed to the best dam night sky channel ever. You are awesome sir and thank you for the knowledge you provide everyone. So glad to be back.

Welcome back I'm glad you found me again. I was doing some research and I think I may be able to claim being one of the oldest - if not THE oldest - astronomy channels on KZbin. I haven't found one older yet anyway. I'm glad you're here and I'll continue to make as much content as time allows. thanks for your kind comment!

There are 2 versions, one with and one without the crazy kid lol. The one with the kid is the original
@deepastronomy2 ай бұрын
Yeah that was the original version (the one with the Numa Numa Guy). I was trying to make the point that "we have more important things to worry about" and then I showed what was viral at the time (supposed to be a joke). People thought the video had been rick rolled and didn't get the joke. So, I made a redux version when I cut him out. The original also has some audio issues with my cheap headset and people said it sounded like I was licking in their ears so I tried to cut that out as well in the redux version. That video could never be made today. KZbin's Content ID would prevent it.
