the raspberry CPU ARM@2ghz has to emulate a 68k CPU and therefore you can't compare the real 350mhz of the Pentium II ( 1:1 frequency performance ratio ). The result is remarkable because it uses the real bus of the Amiga1200 . Furthermore Quake I & II at the time were optimized to work well with the Pentium CPU and FPU.... the result of Emu68 is great because it is written in Assembler using BARE METAL. Then there are other reasons why the result of the 1200 with Pistorm is impressive but unfortunately they are my unprovable ideas

thanks, written by you it's an honor for me 😀.... I tried to do a reliable test with a game that uses CPU & FPU intensively at the same resolution and in software rendering.... I made some mistakes in creating the video because after post video i try with Quake II using AmiquakeII RTG (2022) instead of the QuakeII68k code 2019 (used in this video) the FPS rises from 50 to 70 on average with AmiquakeII RTG 😎

Well done boy, you answered yourself..... do it in software render without cheating..... even on Amiga one day when you have the OpenGL 3D drivers the performance of the RTG output will increase a lot

the one you linked me is a demo and maybe the author with some programming trick got around the limit, in the workbench normally at 15khz (pal and ntsc) you reach 27Khz frequencies and in the dbpal/dbntsc and other similar modes you reach 54khz

this is only half of the story dude...

"the Amiga" did not hold up to comparison in terms of pure power and high resolution 3D graphics but until 98/99 it still had a very efficient operating system compared to the PC but these modern and above all economical cards are fun and allow you to get some satisfaction with Amiga in 2024. Now it's all in the hands of programmers to exploit this power boost on machines like A500/600/1200/2000

in reality they were already working on it last year and I saw a short video on discord from the author of emu68 of a 3d library for 68k .... maybe he will continue to develop it in the future

exactly, at the time to have 57khz audio, I used video modes like dbpal, dbntsc, multiscan... they were slower to manage with aga but you gained in audio clarity, approaching that of CDs

the result is already excellent if you think that this is the only recent porting that runs on 68000 + OS3.x.... if in the future they also manage to implement the Raspberry5 with the PiStorm there will be another boost to the performance of the emulators.. .. the problem is that we should write new applications optimized for the pistorm JIT

I ran it normally from win11pro, I didn't use the latest version because it doesn't detect USB joysticks and I used the penultimate release, for the midi part I installed the VirtualMIDISynth program and then from XM6 I configured it on the virtual midi port with SC-55 sound fonts

the advantage for other games on vga crt is the low latency, but as in this video the best result is obtained with old games designed for 4:3 crt

68K RTG Amiga games: Diablo (DevilutionX), Genetic Species, Shadow Warrior, Mini Slug, Blood (Monolith Productions), Rise of the Triad, Heart of Darkness, Descent D1X Rebirth.

AGA Amigas can run Doom fine, they just need enough processing power and memory and a good port. AGA Doom even looks identically like the PC original.

grazie per i complimenti, 1: allora questa è la discussione ufficiale sul core neogeo: www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=42808 2: per creare i file cd .cue .bin , se sono in un altro formato devi usare un software di conversione come power iso, ultra iso o iso buster e caricare il CD dal core sempre con il file .cue altrimenti non senti l' audio CD 3: sotto ho risposto ad un altro utente con i nomi dei bios rom che ti servono per il core Neogeo, si trovano facilmente in rete e le aggiungi nella stessa directory del core neogeo 4: infine ricordati che per caricare i giochi CD devi sempre caricare 2 file, il primo che contiene la rom del neogeoCD e il secondo file è il .cue della iso che vuoi caricare 😉

eh si ho fatto vedere dall' accensione del 500 all' avvio di Doom quanto tempo ci vuole ... :)

I don't think it works with an external USB CD ROM, it would be nice to use the original CDs.... maybe they will implement it in the future.... for now it only works with ISO in cue+bin format
