I've spent around £100 on this game because I got addicted to it, but I've lost almost every card I had. Now, I only have the 6 cards I made sure to NEVER lose

I was on a cruise ship when I first encountered this game. I spent $700 at that arcade. It is that much fun. My younger brother-in-law was also farming skee ball for tickets to win a Pac-Man gameboy so it wasn't all on this. But I wish it was, it's incredibly awesome.

Great job making a video to teach people about a game you know very little about. The level of control in this fighting game is significantly more involved than in the injustice arcade. I've been playing the mobile mcoc for 9 years, I play this arcade version every year with my son on his birthday.
@arcadeheroes_coinop4 күн бұрын
@mcsjsanders "significantly" is subjective here, as most of us in the arcade industry are used to real fighting games with a deep level of control (Street Fighter, Tekken, King of Fighters, etc.). Yes this is better than IJ but It's laughable to claim or insinuate that it is anywhere close to those when it most certainly is not.

My son and I have an absolute blast playing this in the arcade. The cards are fun to collect too. Definitely can burn through credits quick if you aren't careful.

I've heard that Pinball sales have fallen off a cliff according to other Pinball focused channels. Especially Stern pinball machines which have over saturated the market. They say Arcades and collectors are tired of $10K pinball machines. Have you noticed Pinball business slowing down at all in your arcade?
@arcadeheroes_coinop7 күн бұрын
Pins themselves just haven't been great earners for a long time, although lately everything has been slow. Despite what the media says, the economy is slow for Main St. type business. But also it wouldn't surprise me - there's just no way to sustain prices on equipment like this at these levels forever. While most go to homes, I've noticed that values on some machines just hasn't been great either, not really fulfilling the whole "well you'll make your money back when you resell it!" trope. I think the market has pretended that *everything* is going to hold the value of an Addams Family or Twilight Zone, when that isn't the case.
@TheBigExclusive6 күн бұрын
@@arcadeheroes_coinop - It's interesting that you say that Pinball machines aren't great earners. I've mentioned that fact to some Pinball fans and enthusiasts and they seem to get offended at the statement. Yes the Pinball fanbase is hardcore. But they don't seem to understand that these machines require maintenance (which eat ups profits), and that not every customer is interested in playing Pinball. Overall, the Pinball fanbase seems to "overestimate" how popular pinball actually is in arcades. Meanwhile many customers love video games like Jurassic Park, racing games like Cruisin' Blast, etc.

Maybe you could show the card backs without the barcode on the site? Does it show what items each hero gets on the back?

There are very few videos on this game. It appears the pets all have about the same stats, except for the llama having a ranged attack.

Sorry for these extra questions but I have so many questions as I watch your video. Does changing the monitor in your Walking Dead with a Samsung TV hurt the resale value? Or do people not care?

Do you think it's better to open a 2nd arcade location, or is it better to spend money on expanding the size of the 1st location? For example, could you have found a larger space within the mall of your first arcade? Or is opening a 2nd location always better?
@arcadeheroes_coinop16 күн бұрын
This is dependent upon a lot of factors - local economy (median incomes, local competition, currents of consumer spending, local boosts such as an anchor store that brings people into an area, etc), how well the concept is performing, the exact location, costs, and so on. Generally if a concept is so sound that it will make money in a similar area, then you can expand. It requires some good market research to help determine all that - and a lot of capital investment. I was in a pretty good spot thanks to how well the arcade did from 2017-2019, which is what helped me open a place in 2020. It might have worked to do the 2nd location where I did it had covid not completely changed consumer retail behavior, but I also might have made the wrong picks for game selection, which were not as appealing to the locals in the area as I had assumed they would be.

The Economy is really bad right now. People and families have to cut back expenses. So they don't have much (if any) of a budget to go out for entertainment like an arcade. I can only speak from personal experience. My friend loved going to local barcades and arcades, but then he lost his job a few months ago. Now he stays home because he has no spare money.
@TheBigExclusive18 күн бұрын
I know this isn't exactly related, but I hope you don't put your arcade machines or pinball machines right next to your Restrooms. I always think it's VERY weird when arcade owners do this. I just came back from an arcade and they had crammed their machines right up next to the doors of the restrooms. Nobody wanted to play the machines for obvious reasons (odors, awkwardly making room for people as they walked by, etc). Everyone played on machines further back. I debated if I should have said anything to the arcade owner sitting behind the counter (I chose not to say anything). But I would think it's obvious that arcade owners should leave the areas around restrooms clear and open! Perhaps you should do a future video on placement of machines in an arcade business and what's the most optimal way of placing machines?
@arcadeheroes_coinop17 күн бұрын
No worries for myself, as I have no restrooms ;) But I hear ya there - if a place has restrooms, it becomes a bit awkward to figure out placement since there's a good chance the patrons don't wash their hands (a location should obsessively clean the controls of games near them, but that's hardly a guarantee)

I am glad there are others out there that give an opportunity to turn an early Pat Lawlor , company directed, no ball save, quarter munching brutal game into something that doesn't feel like a slot machine handle on the side of the back box, being gouged, and leaving a bad taste in your mouth. Now do the same for Addams family, Whirlwind,.....
