It's not the only space plane in the country- there's the Boeing X37, which has been flying for years. Currently monopolized by the military, but a well proven design; im sure if nasa asked for one, Boeing would take their money.

Even if the Dream Chaser works as hoped, an approved crew version won't be available for at least four or five or more years. That would be 2030. As far as the tiles go, SpaceX is not there yet on the tiles. We'll see in the near future where they stand on the tiles.

This would not shock SpaceX. The SpaceX starship is meant to land on Mars. The space plain can not you can even send the crew dragon to Mars, and it would survive, unlike the space plain. I don't see how SpaceX would be shocked because they are focused or something bigger.

The sooner the better. Starship needs as much of it's workforce as possible dedicated to moon/Mars efforts. The ISS is important in the overall space program but Musk and Shotwell are focussed on getting to Mars.

I don't see Starship replacing Dragon anytime soon. You can use Starship to carry equipment and supplies into space. But the belly flop will not work for humans anytime soon.
