In my country physiotherapists actually recommend against sitting children down before they get into the sitting position themselves (from crawling or side lying). Most kids don't do that until they're around 8/9 months. Until then, the only time a baby should sit is in the high chair.

As a med student It’s OK for these milestones to have a slight delay, no need to panic every baby is different and precious but if you see these delays getting longer and longer it’s better to go see a doctor as it could mean some neurological or anatomical defects. Keep babies monitored always also small behavioral changes might not mean much for an adult, but they’re very important for a baby

Great video. My baby has been army crawling for 2 months and I am trying to help him crawl on hands and knees. But he refuses to stay in the all fours position, he will kick his legs straight and go on his tummy right away.
