I love the outfits wow! The dresses, the shirts, the cardis. That knotted knit cardi & the blue knit with the besutiful sleeves were so lovely but it was entirely a great lookbook. Actually my favourite one for the year.

And now that I've left you a massive patreon comment I'll catch up on the two vids I've missed & comment here too! ❤ Humidity will sometimes soften the pie crusts. Happens to mine over here in australia! The fattier the more likely to soften i find. I laughed when you made the salad because its very similar to one i regularly make for myself! Im a beetroot fanatic & just love pickles 😂 Loved this vid. The cooking ones are some of my absolutr faves on your channel. You looked lovely too! Fab hair 👌

Wonderful! I'm glad you liked the video. These ones are really fun to make. That is very good to know about humidity and the pie crust! I'm relieved it wasn't because I did something wrong. It was quite a humid summer day when I filmed this so it makes absolute sense. And it looks like you and Loretta Young have the same taste in salads, then! I too am a pickle & beetroot enthusiast but would never have thought to put them in a salad! Very clever. Thank you for watching! 🥰

When measuring ingredients for baking avoid using regular tablespoons and go for baking measuring spoons! A baking tablespoon should be 15g so a normal tablespoon is way too little. Still, looks delicious though. I love your content 🥺it's so comforting and so beautifully made
@MelinaMeineke3 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! I didn't know that about the tablespoons. How strange. Looks like I'll have to buy some measuring spoons!

What's cooking? Me! Haha, I love it. I'm so impressed you made that meringue by hand. That's one vintage thing I'm happy to leave in the past. 😂 It's funny how Marlene Dietrich was known to cook, yet her recipe was a "no-bake" one. 😂 Great video, as always. ❤
@MelinaMeineke7 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! Honestly I'm kind of impressed too. It was quite the workout. Yes, that is rather funny about Marlene's recipe! To be fair, I did find a lot of other recipes attributed to her that were baked/cooked- I only chose this one because it sounded the most delicious! Ha ha 😊

When I was researching it said gravy browning which is what changes the colour of gravy. Not sure if it's actual gravy you use.
@MelinaMeineke23 күн бұрын
Yes, that's absolutely true! A lot of people pointed this out in the comments. My source for this video was incorrect. I don't think anyone used actual gravy!

Fabulous video, as usual, Melina! I think my favorite outfit was Sunday - that blue knit sweater is absolutely gorgeous! If you don’t already have one, I’d love to see a video on both your sewing projects and how to wash your vintage clothes (in the tub). Much love from America where it is freezing and wintery 😘

Like others have said you have a nice singing voice, and I was wondering if you could do the song titled 'Always'. It was featured in the great movie 'Pride of the Yankees' with Gary Cooper and Theresa Wright about baseball legend Lou Gehrig from 1942. The song is longer than the small part in the movie but I found it quite touching and it might help you a lot in your singing job. Hope you had a nice Christmas and wishing you a nice New Year.
@MelinaMeineke24 күн бұрын
Thank you very much. I have heard of that movie, and I've certainly heard the song! It's very lovely. If I can find a good backing track I will definitely cover it. I'll see what I can do! Happy New Year. ♥

Where do you get such gorgeous hats? (I mean those like the pillbox -- I've been looking for hats for ages and can't find many different styles)
@MelinaMeinekeАй бұрын
Many many years of patiently searching through secondhand and vintage shops! I know vintage hats can be found on Etsy or Ebay but personally I live in New Zealand and the shipping is too expensive for me. 😊
@grismadrigal9582Ай бұрын
@MelinaMeineke I live in the U.S. and it would be difficult for me to buy hats like the ones they sell on Etsy. They are quite expensive! Looks like I'll have to start thrifting. I love hats, but so far I only have berets or crocheted ones. The ones you own are my dream collection!

I always love watching your videos. I appreciated showing close-ups of different patterns. That blue sweater you wore to rehearsal is absolutely stunning! "Droopy victory roll-itis" definitely made me chuckle. We've all been there. 😂 I didn't know you were a part of your local theater! I hope we'll get to see more of that. How cool you got to do a vintage song. 😁

Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed this one. Ha ha, I had to mention the wonky hair. I wish I had looked into a mirror before filming this! Indeed, I usually perform in local variety shows but act occasionally as a hobby. I think there's a video of this particular performance somewhere! Maybe I'll post it here if I get a hold of it. 😊

Oh my goodness, Melina! This may be my favorite seasonal look book yet! All of your hats are so beautiful and really elevate the outfits. My favorite might actually be the peach dress - so simple but so beautiful! Did you find it at a vintage shop? Wishing you a lovely spring and summer! 💐
