Hey, great demo, I'm gonna look deeper into this one. I hate nano modules, I don't like anything less than 4hp. As my rack grows, I just add cases, and go with larger modules most of the time. So, 28hp is no problem for me, I have space for it. In fact, its the exact fit for replacing my drum module (Erica LXR) from the front row of my controller case, so I can put LXR back in the drum case and stick a whole bunch of utilities between controller/drums and synth cases. My controller row, at front and bottom, is only modules with jacks at the top. Rule #1 - No spaghetti in the front row. Jacks on the sides though? Between Metropolix/Gx, and Scales... It can work. Just a handy hint though... When using English "add/subtract" (+/-) you used add correctly, but one time you said "distract" (ablenken) and the other time you used detract (beeinträchtigen). When talking in math terms, in our case voltage, it's always add/subtract. Distract and detract both have an idea of taking something away, but not something physical. You take away ideas/concepts, not things. Like "I distracted the baby with a squeaky toy" or "Stop arguing about (A), you're detracting from the importance of (B.)" Sorry, I'm an English teacher, I can't help myself. Have a great day, I've come to really enjoy your videos.

Because D/A conversion is often a weak link I always weight the benefits of analog summing against digital and use a hi-end D/A to go to my analog mastering chain and back. There’s of course the color of a console which can add magic to the mix but for me this is in the mixing stage not the mastering

@Detroit-Berlin
@Detroit-Berlin Ай бұрын
the conversion is the same but you have more volume control on the pro + two headphones outputs of thé highest quality what’s great for A/Bing headphones. The ADI-2 FS would be a good option for you, in practice though I felt the pro had many more advantages.
@Cas19999

@@Detroit-Berlin how much different is the headphone output? The one headphone output is enough for me (babyface also has 2 outputs) Some extra information: I only work in the box en dont use outboard gear and dont will need the dsp/eq etc of the adi pro because i have neumann speakers with roomcorrection software in them that i will connect on the adi. The best conversion for them is the most important for me. 1 more question, if i plug my microphone in to my Babyface preamps, can i than use the AD of the ADI 2 FS for the best vocal conversion? Or can it only use it for its conversion with the DA outputs plugged in on the ADI 2 FS itself?
@Cas19999

Some more extra info: i just do vocal/recording an do mixing in the box. I dont do mastering application so thats also i think the ADI 2 FS is more for me. Maybe i would later add only a vocal preamp/compressor.
@Detroit-Berlin
@Detroit-Berlin Ай бұрын
@@Cas19999 the quality should be about the same. If you want to use the preamp I would just use the babyface for that as AD conversion is probably very good already, the magic is with the DA conversion for quality in monitoring, just use the AD conversion as 2 extra inputs for the babyface. Or invest in a good outboard preamp to use with the AD conversion. (with the cash you save from not going for the pro you can buy a pretty good preamp imo) In practice audio has to be routed from and to the adat channels, they won’t replace the converters already in the babyface but act as extra channels with better conversion.

Debating between these two, if the converters are the same I will grab the cheaper one. I want to use it to convert my outboard gear back into my daw, would the cheaper one do the job just as good?
@Detroit-Berlin
@Detroit-Berlin 2 ай бұрын
please take note that these are no interfaces on their own, the cheaper ADI-2 FS has no usb and needs to be connected to your audio interface via aes, spdif or adat. The pro can be connected directly but doesn’t feature true direct monitoring, if connected to an existing interface you can monitor directly via that interface. So they’re great expanders for existing interfaces that have the digital io to use the ADi-2s or in case of the pro, where monitoring latency is not an issue as in mastering or audio playback. What interface do you have? In case you decide to buy one, I would be grateful if you use the affiliate link 🙏

@@Detroit-Berlin thank you for the response 🙏🏼 I currently have an Apollo x4 and use a focusrite clarett 8pre as an adat for i/o expansion.. I really just want to improve my DA because I will only be using headphones for mixing, but also would love to improve my AD since I use 3 or 4 pieces of outboard gear that I’m using on my master bus. And if I make a purchase I’ll definitely use the affiliate link 👌🏼 thank you
@Detroit-Berlin
@Detroit-Berlin 2 ай бұрын
@@pRoblemTv That will work fine, the thing that made me eventually choose for the pro were the extra 2 DA channels for monitoring what is being send into the AD of the ADI-2 + the metering. When sending sounds from your DAW through outboard this is in my opinion invaluable. If you just want great monitoring and not use the DA to go through outboard the ADI-2 FS is more than sufficient.

My recommendation to remove this kind of rubber is to use KH7 or a similar strong degreaser. You spray it, leave it on for some minutes and it will create a very dirty black gunk layer that you don't even need to scrub.
