The Qur'an doesn't speak about ALL LIVING CREATURES or ALL ANIMALS FROM EVERY SPECIES...It just says "Take two from every PAIR". The pairs mentioned are the pairs from LIVESTOCK as it is said in Sourate 6 verses 143 : "Allah has created four PAIRS: a PAIR of SHEEP and a PAIR of GOATS... " And verse 144: "and a PAIR of CAMELS and a PAIR of OXEN..." Nuh 'aleyhi salam took a pair of animals from sheep, goat, camel and oxen not every animal in the world. And there are indications of this in the Qur'an. Sourah 23: 21 - "And indeed, for you in LIVESTOCK is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat." 22 - "AND UPON THEM AND ON SHIPS YOU ARE CARRIED." 23 - "And We had certainly sent NOAH to his people, and he said, "O my people, worship Allāh; you have no deity other than Him; then will you not fear Him?" ALLAH mentions the LIVESTOCK in which we are CARRIED and then SHIPS and then NUH 'aleyhi salam (The ark in which people and animals were carried). Allah mentions the livestock as pairs in the Qur'an and ask Nuh 'aleyhi salam to take two from each pair ! So he didn't take every animal on earth in the ark. Qur'an needs to be read by linking verses together.
