I think it's several factors but mainly SV really just doesn't hit like Sw/sh did. The sets don't really have the same appeal for whatever reason and there were so many changes made all at once. It kinda killed all the momentum that Swsh finished on. Ive spent less than $150 on SV products so far and I spent thousands on Swsh. The poketubers need to make videos no matter how they feel about the sets

You can tell who actually plays/enjoys the games. I also think if your bread and butter is JUST the monetary hype of the pack openings, then you have makings of burning out. They got shops/ mystery packs to sell, so the business side of this whole thing could just be taking a toll lol 🤷‍♂

To be completely honest with you I’ve stopped watching people that can’t even bother to get to know the new Pokemon and dunk on the new Pokemon (unless they get a card that gets expensive). And I can very much tell as I’ve played the heck out of scarlet and violet and both DLC’s. It’s very chameleon like and disingenuous to me and even more annoying when they’re making money off a product the Pokemon company makes and don’t have enough respect or awareness to realize that just because something isn’t the same as it was during their childhood it doesn’t mean it’s bad or trash. I’m up to here with hearing about 151 like oh my god I grew up knowing the original 151 as well but guess what we’re in 2024 and there’s SO MANY OTHER POKEMON like…..oh man it’s so annoying to me at least. Not to mention the freaking art that’s coming out set after set in the scarlet and violet era

I’m 34 years old … was a kid when Pokemon blew up in America in the late 90s early 2000s … those memories I have of ripping packs with my brother and friends is worth more than all the sealed vintage Pokemon boxes these streamers charge an arm and a leg for to open on stream … for those younger than 30 years old . You truly missed out on a time when Pokemon was truly about collecting

People are sick of the narrative, and prob sick of having to make content within the narrative. For an example, you might as well have said a racial slur if you say you like Shrouded Fable. The narrative says you can only like the Greninja and the Kingdra Promo's, but not the rest of the set. Literally, you have to say it just like that or you're stupid and dont know anything about Pokemon. This leads to boring content, and bored creators.

When you have to fake excitement as often as many poketubers/streamers do, a career in the Adult film industry suddenly looks a lot more appealing, at least they pay you for poor acting.

Collecting pokemon is different than making a profit. Collecting is about the journey and patience. People who monetize openings are just speed running and missing the entire forest.
