I think most of us lost our first butterfly fish to the same mistakes by leaving the lids open 😅 I lost both of mine two days in a row. Now the tank is all sealed and I haven’t lost any more fish

Just wondering do you ever do water change in your tank bro? I do my African Cichlid weekly 80% water change and my heavily planted community tank 50% Monthly.

@@Shilalsworlduk2012 I do but my schedule is different. I do a 20% water change every 2 weeks and a big water change once a month (around 50%) . The debris came from my fish digging and brining up substrate 😅

Yeah they really are incredible fish! And as long as you have enough surface plants you should be able to keep 2. Mine get along great

So sorry to hear Wholesale Tropicals closed down. I worked not far away from the shop 35 years ago and used to pop in nearly every weekend. Knew Terry's dad and Terry when he was just getting into the business. There was always something to catch my attention, especially the range of killis. I really got excited when Terry started to bring dwarf cichlids back from his trips to Germany. I got my Apistogramma nijssen from there in 1985, first import. What was the reason behind the closure?

Gutted such an amazing fish store. Did my degree in Marine and Freshwater Biology in QMW, London in 1993 to 1995. Used to get tube to Bernal Green, then walk to store in anticipation of all the unusual fish they always stocked. L number Plecs and used to get Killifish to breed from them in student digs. Such a shame.😢

I was the Aquarium Technician at QMW after moving there in 1984 until I left in 1993. I used to buy 4lb of tubifex every week for the fish and amphibians I looked after from Terry senior, and spent long times looking around the tanks and chatting to him. He always had time for everybody. I convinced him to get more dwarf cichlids in, and he got in rarities such as Taeniaca candidi, which was super exciting. Even after I left London, I would still visit whenever I could. Gonna miss the place.

Fish hobby in UK is getting dire, bristol only has pets at home shops, maidenhead aquatics and 1 independent fish shop. Next to no choice if you can't drive.

Shame another shop closes. Here's and out of the box idea could you not ask about taking the shop on as it is and pay a rent to them whilst building the funds or setting up a crowdfunder to buy. Would be a fantastic opportunity and endless videos for KZbin. I would talk to them. Worst they can say is no

I’m 51, been going to the fish shop from my first visit from the age of 10 with my dad. Popped over a day before they shut down. One last visit and show my support to Terry. Absolutely gutted for him, I wish him all the success in the future.

Such a shame to see a local store shut .. looked like a great store from your videos .. and new turtles how cool .. I currently have 6 myself one thing I’d recommend is change that filter to a canister filter that internal filter won’t do much and the tank will start to smell real bad in a few days bud look forward to seeing more videos 🙂

Yo scoobz did you get a musk turtle, or something else. Just saying try to avoid red ear slider and yellow belly turtles as they get really big and you would have to get a 120 gallon tank if you wanna keep them

@@ScoobzNPetzgood it could have potentially ended badly for you becuase i used to have a red ear slider and it got to 10 inches within the first month so i rellisead it in a huge lake full of turtles and tropical fish that got fed regruarly in hong kong. But that was was when i moved to London

@ScoobzNPetz nice one mate Thanks 👍 it was the stormii catfish videos on your channel that got me lol. I know The feeling of having to re-home a monster fish. Unfortunately for me 10 years ago I got a red tail catfish for my 300lt and had to re-home him not nothing the growth rate of the species. I was gutted after that. I research everything I could on the RTC. After that I made a promise to my self that I would build a massive indoor predator pond for the RTC when I was ready. My current 2 RTC cats where babies when I got them now there pushing 23"+ lol. Good luck with your new tank. It will happen mate 💪👍👌

Such a shame about the shop closing, and you got on with everyone so well. I hope everyone has jobs etc to go to. So sad. You got some lovely things and your mums turtles are going to be fun to look after. Sorry to hear about your dad passing, and your cat so close together. I too lost my dad , in 2022, and my beautiful chocolate Labrador three months later. Enjoy your new additions. Take care and enjoy your break!

Loving your content, if your budget allows I highly recommend the 6ft by 2ft by 2.5ft tall, the extra height will make the 6ft look even bigger, adds expense and weight of tank to move but worth it. (ND aquatics maybe) Best of luck I’ll keep watching!

@ScoobzNPetz I've thought about your plan to aquascape the back of the tank with plants and due to that with maintainence it would probably be easier access into the tank especially if you need to reach the bottom with the 2ft height so maybe stick to your current plan!
