Ive had Bells Palsy twice. Once at age 12 and once at age 15. It only lasted a week or two at best. I had to put a cream in my eye and tape it shut at night, and put eye drops in throughout the days so it wouldn't dry out.

From my personal experience, vaping is worse for me. Every time I start vaping, after a few months of not, my lungs begin to bubble and I develop chest pains. I have never had any issues with smoking, other than the fact that it dries out my mouth quicker. I'd argue that vaping is worse for you in the short term and smoking is bad for you in the long term. The thing is, so many young people are having serious lung issues from vaping these days, something not seen in young people who smoke. Popcorn lung, collapsing lungs, etc.

My friends vape almost non stop. They’re constantly puffing and weren’t like that with cigarettes. The only things your lungs were intended for is air. Simple.

I can definitely say it was by far the worst headache of my life! I very seldom get headaches so this one took me by surprise, how swift the onset was and the nausea that accompanied it. I did feel like my head was going to explode, apparently from what this Dr is saying is that when the aneurysm bursts that is when the onset of this type do headache takes place, it felt like a stab to the base of my neck on the right side and then it traveled upwards, behind my right ear and jaw then it shot through to the top and pained permeated the entire top portion of my head that wouldn’t relent. I wanted to throw up but at the same time I didn’t want to add more pressure to my brain. Just awful and very scary

Yes...the headaches are awful also horrible neck pain! My journey ... When I was 17, had a chiropractor gently pull head and neck and all the pressure went away. Age 24, had epidural for 2nd childbirth...blood pressure dropped and doctors had difficulty waking me. After birth, heart racing and passing out started. Age 29, Chiari 1 7mm diagnosed by MRI. Had stumbling, weakness, tremors ... doctors dismissed symptoms as stress. Age 40, neurologist did spinal tap (knowing about chiari) ... went into status epilepticus (seizures wouldn't stop and put into induced coma/on life support). Induced coma/life support 6 months later. Finally had decompression at age 42. Six months later, C3-to-T1 fusion done (spinal stenosis). Neurosurgeon wanted to fuse C1 down ... neck bones had extreme rotation. Also wanted to do tethered cord surgery. Fast forward to now, almost age 59, tremors, spasms, weakness, nystagmus both eyes, tinnitus both ears, can walk in house a bit but need wheelchair most times outside. Also have Addison's and a few other conditions too. 🙏

I had the surgery in 2018, all my symptoms are back times 10, I no longer enjoy life again. I can’t think properly. I can barely walk without falling over. I mix up my words. Brainfog. Ear pain. Pressure headaches and full body pain. Blurry vision! All of those symptoms happen all at once all day long. Laying down will give me some relief. But I can’t live in bed.

My neck hurts each day and yes it can be life threatening because of convulsions and stopping breathing…….. I was diagnosed with epilepsy instead of them addressing my chiari……. RUDE STEROIDS HAD ME SEIZURE FREE WAY BETTER THAN ANY NEUROS EPILEPSY MEDS…. EXPLAIN THAT…… I probably had encephalitis or hydrocephalus with my chiari and thankfully I got iv meds. I got steroids went seizure free for almost 2 yrs.
@mamakath1966
@mamakath1966 22 күн бұрын
Sorry you're going through this! Interesting, my journey has been so similar to what you described! The seizures had me put into a coma and on life-support twice. One bad seizure was after a spinal tap (neurologist knew about chiari). Had decompression in 2008 and six months later had c3-to-T1 fusion. The seizures continued. Had allergic reactions or bad side-effects from anti-seizure meds. Was diagnosed with Addison's and started on hydrocortisone (replacement dose). Gained 50 pounds and seizures still continued periodically. Every time methylprednisolone (a more anti-inflammatory steroid) was used, I felt better. Begged endocrine doctor to switch. Two years later, 50 pounds lighter and virtually no seizures! Just shows that everyone is different and needs to be treated individually! 🙏💜

AI is poised to make neurosurgery safer, more precise, and more efficient, ultimately improving patient outcomes. Robots are more precise than human neurosurgeons due to their ability to perform tasks with unparalleled consistency, accuracy, and control, all of which are critical in neurosurgery. So most of all what they are talking about will be gone, and human doctors will be seen as the worst surgeons.

Vaping is not harmless, but It's not the point here. The point is vaping is a safer alternative to cigarettes. You don't smoke now, don't vape. If you are a smoker why won't you switch to a less harmful option??? Why?? And why not encourage smokers to vape and then quit entirety? Why let them take greater damage rather than switching to vape?

I think the quality of the vape is a big factor most young ppl are smoking disposable vapes witch majority are not fda approved or regulated and illegal almost everywhere with double the nicotine content of a pack of ciggs. It's a double edge sword. The disposables vapes are proven to be worse and harder on the organs and body. I also from experience felt way worse vaping a disposable daily vs half a pack of cigarettes. The plus side of vape is the no tar and lung function as in you will breathe better yes. But it causes harm to lungs in other ways. I got a lung infection from vaping 7 weeks into it. And they are notorious for making u sick and given u headaches and bad side effects if done too often ...witch u jus don't get from cigarettes . .ur literal best method to consume nicotine is threw gum and lozengers and if u want to smoke occasionally or a few a day even .I find this to be a way better method. The idea that marijuana and nic vapes are perfectly fine and cigarette smokers are treated and looked at as aids patients in today's world is pitiful. None are good. All come with pros and cons. And it only really healthy doin zero. I do think the quality of vape finding one that is regulated is key if u want to vape and how often u hit it is key. Same for ciggs the frequency of how many a day u smoke is key. Somebody who smokes 6 a day vs 2 packs is like comparing apples and oranges....and even worse most the ppl from the past who smoked were ridiculously heavy smokers too . Many smoked 3'4' even 5 packs a day u can't compare a study to a half a pack a day smoker to somebody smoking 3-5 packs a day. Vaping is also similar I know ppl who go through a disposable vape in a day or 2 witch has to be really bad vs others it will last 10 days.....my experience I feel better smoking half a pack a day of ciggs then I do vaping a disposable that lasted a week . And do it way less

I have four brain aneurysms. Two very small and two very large. I normally am a very healthy person, hardly even suffer from a cold then one day, all the sudden I started to have this excruciating pain in the back off my head, my vision was blurred, vomiting occurred, I felt totally incapacitated. Then after an hour or so, it would ease up. After two weeks of these episodes I made appointment with my family physician, she listened to my concerns and symptoms and immediately sent me for a head and neck scan within 24 hrs she called with the shocking news... that I had four cerebral aneurysms two of which were large irregular (9mm and 10mm) enough to cause symptoms because they were pressing against tissue of my brain. They were very close to ruptured. I was sent directly to a fantastic neurosurgeon who performed a pteronial approach craniotomy for clipping of the two large aneurysms which saved my life. I call my symptoms my divine intervention so, when your body is trying to tell you something you better listen to it.
