France 2000 is the most stacked Euros squad ever. There is no better team, they had a much better defence and attack than Spain 2012. Spain overall had the midfield obviously, but France in Peak Zidane had a better player than all of them. They were better than 98‘ overall, but the likes of Deschamps and Desailly were better before 2000. Henry, Trezeguet, Anelka, Pires and Wiltord added quality and depth to the squad. The squad had a perfect mix between established and younger players. Also the road to the title was much harder for France. They had to beat Portugal‘s golden generation and a stacked Italy side with Maldini, Nesta etc. Pires just said in a video recently, when Italy scored he instantly thought it was over, teams barely came back against Italy at that time, but France did.
