Ok but why does '2025' sound like it's so far in the future? Like, we're there. We've arrived. We're in science fiction land now.

The return of Ezekiel! I feel you about the Audible credits. I'm always so reluctant to spend them because I worry I'll hate the book. But then I get an email reminding me that I have 4 credits to use and I know I won't get new ones after reaching 6, so I have to spend them in a panic. Can't make a decision, distract yourself with food. I feel that. 🥦

A working Beckle. *Alexa, play 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton*. I'm sorry, but if I forced myself to run and then had to come home and eat broccoli, I would be so disappointed I'd probably die. And I say that as someone who likes broccoli.

I forgot to say, 'Oooh I need that recipe!' LOL, that looks good. Was it steak and eggs in the Udon noodles? I like to cook.
@becklebooks17 күн бұрын
Haha yes it's udon noodles! Dave also separately sears red capsicum and mushrooms in hoisin sauce and ghee, then adds beef broth before combining with the cooked udon noodles. :) We added diced beef but honestly it tastes better without the meat added in! And yes an egg we add for 'garnish'. Hahaha, enjoy!

Isn’t it hilarious? I’m crouching and it’s my actual legs, but cut out and isolated it looked so funny that I had to keep it in my thumbnail. 😂

I feel terrible for basically remembering nothing, I would have no context for Threads, so thank you. I probably could have reread and it would have been like reading it for the first time. But if I did that, I would be in an endless loop of reading the same thing and forgetting it within 5 years

Bunnings and Maccas hash browns for breakfast. Bec and Dave: true Aussie icons. 'Snail bait and typing up tomatoes - that's what our life is now.' 🤣 I *also* read 130pp yesterday! How funny! We are same. Dave's tone when he said 'What a waste'. I felt that in my soul. 🤣

Successful rereads are happening all around! I'm about 80 pages away from finishing my reread of 'The House in the Cerulean Sea', which means I'll finally be able to read the sequel. Then I'll probably be hopping onto my Fourth Wing and Iron Flame rereads.

My favorite post-apocalyptic is The Road. By a wide wide margin. Ultimately, like all great books, the events of the world are setting and situation and the story focuses on the characters. What this book is is a story of a father desperately trying to guide and raise his son so he can survive his father. The Road is an expression of profound love . So good.

I didn't care for WWZ overly much. It's been so long though that I'm not sure why. Maybe the hype left me underwhelmed. Interesting idea though. "Critique of religion..." Most Abrahamic religions are apocalyptic storylines themselves … Heh.

The Jacksonville Rays audios are great, and my recommendation for any of Emily Rath's books are just got with it. 😂 But her poly romances are fun, sometimes silly and just so very endearing. I've currently got the Cultish audiobook on Libby at the moment. It's going to be my next audio read. I also enjoyed A Marvellous Light, and read The Three-Body Problem waaaaaaaay back when I first started my channel. (I've completely forgotten what it was about!)
