Jag var nyss där och fiskade, sträckan var inte alls lång, och älven var nästan tom på fisk, bara mindre fiskar, jag undrar om detta kunde vara i augusti när öringarna börjar vandra uppåt🤔

Amazing video and awesome shots. I wonder, is it controversial that there exists WRs for tippet sizes? It feels a bit strange to me.
@Visionflyfishing2 ай бұрын
Well that is obviously a good question and there's no 'right answers' I guess. There is an "All Tackle" category as well, which is kind the most simple WR category. But until anglers thinks responsible, the tippet sizes give various approaches to the WRs. And what is a very nice thing with IGFA is that all the records are well evaluated and documented which leaves no room for speculations. But one should never do world records over the responsibility of fishing so that is why guys went for atlantic halibut with the heaviest tippet sizes as they felt that those tippets were alright for doing the halibut fishing in that exact spot.

Imagine if vision put as much effort into making their waders last more than one season as they do these fishing trips.

Man I have had mine for 5 years, no leaks. I probably don't get to fish as much as you though, toddlers and shit you know. On the other hand, I'm definitely not careful with them. They were only 300 $, so I'm pretty satisfied.

Great video guys. I am about to embark on a little pike fishing trip myself, although there will be other species available as well. I've fished my whole life and I am on the other side of the rainbow. I thought I'd learn to fly fish this year, so I purchased a new fly rod ,reel flies, etc. I had some fun learning to cast it and actually caught a few fish in the process. I have a 5 weight combo and liked it so much, I decided on a 7/8 reel with two rods one of each, because I noticed that 5 weight just didn't seem enough rod to bring in those bigger fish, which I am certain to come across. I know pike fishing pretty good, but have never fly fished for them. I learned quite a bit from watching this video and thank you for the lesson. You fellas must be very smart to speak English so well, being from Finland and English probably a second or third for you. Best Regards

Such a good video. Really Nice Job guys🙏 Just wondering what kind of action on the rivermaniac you guys are using? Fast or medium?
@Visionflyfishing3 ай бұрын
Cato is using the Rivermaniac in medium action here. Basically the fast action would work perfectly as well so it's mainly matter of choice and finding the right tools for right situations and conditions. The fast action is perfect when the tighter loops are needed for example in windier conditions. In the end it is very much up to your personal taste also.
@fluefiskenordentorfinnlie3 ай бұрын
@@Visionflyfishing Ait, Thank you. Been looking for a 4 wt rod and since I have been quite happy with the merisoula rod, I might consider the Rivermaniac as well! ❤️

Great video, beautiful casting. But you would lose less fishes if you would use an upstream curved cast, and get as close to them as you possibly can, I like watching them raise and I see them better at short distance...
