Flymaniacs flying high again! This time Niklaus travelled all the way from Sweden to Italy to visit Paolo Pacchiarini's home waters. Paolo is introducing some very cool sight fishing for river carp. Welcome to enjoy the episode of fly fishing for very careful carp in shallow water.

Best tip came in the last 3 mins. The fish was headed for the branches and Paolo shook it and created a disturbance and the fish steered clear. Very cool.

Great to see you back nic ...badly missed in F v J 15....we drip feed dog biscuits to get the carp confident & cut a cork ball to biscuit shape glued to bare hook..8wt fly rod cos we get double figure carp often...Great video guys👍👍

hoe geweldig is dit,hier kennen wij ook wel vliegvissen op karper maar met een vlieg in de vorm van een boilie,bij jullie zag ik een 4 tal zwarte vliegen in de vorm van ? dus het is de moeite waard om dat hier in nederland eens te onderzoeken.maar wat is dit gaaf om te zien tis jammer dat wij niet zulke wateren hebben hier in nederland,zoals ik de wateren ziet in andere landen ja dan zou ik wel elke dag willen vissen.echt een heel leuk leerzaam filmpje om te zien.ik heb er met plezier naar gekeken groeten uit nederland sommelsdijk.

Nice video, fun watching it. Well done. 👌💪 I use 2 different strategies in carp fishing: 1. Never try to set the hook, when the mouth points towards you. That way many times the hook gets pulled out. 2. In order not having to strip the fly out of the muddy "feeding cloud" for an improved chance to feel the fish on the fly, use a tiny strike indicator. That way you can let the fly drop and hang in front of the mouth. Fast stripping causes the fish to follow and points the mouth towards you. Regards Bernd

I've been using my 3wt lately. My biggest so far is 15lb or close to 7kg. Carp on fly is slowly becoming more popular in Australia.

I have the vision vapa 5wt will it hold smaller carp 30/40cm? Im from the netherlands and there swims allot of carp here in the cannels and im pretty scared to brake my rod when i hook one

I have been fly fishing for carp for over 30 years here in South Africa and I have caught carp over 10 kilos on a 5 weight. As long as you are careful you will be fine.

@@fristipapi Koi are strong.... I use 8 pound maxima tippet. Works great most of the time.
