I had a red one. 1977 R. Reg. I used to Polish the ports with wire wool and auto solve, and regularly had what was showing 60 mph with ace bars, and an expansion chamber! A13 thrash, going and coming home from tate and lyle, where I was working .I remember thrashing it home one day, on the A 13 and some guy in an xs1100 pulls up along side me and goes, ' your doing 60mph' he mouthed, sort of at me. I was well impressed lol

I am sorry but I couldn't watch anymore. Your bike camera is pointed directly at the screen and it ruined the view.

Loved the video and your chat with Phillip. Great to see you finally got to ride a Chopper. What did you think of the bike?
@shuttersandspeedАй бұрын
Well thats a question. Even though I am a venerable age it felt like I was 12-13 and I am the coolest kid in town. I think I mentioned in the video that I was not allowed to have one back in the day so to finally have a go on one was fantastic. Its amazing how many are coming out of the woodwork and yet their values are still strong. I wonder what the percentage of the bikes made are still out there. Thanks for watching.

I recently bought a nice 1973 T140V, and I echo the comments about the tractable engine with good compression breaking. Truth be known I was hoping to find either 650 or 750 Tiger because of the simpler fueling, but I'm happy with this Bonneville until I can find a bike like Mick's! BTW, here in San Diego we ride year round, as I did today in 75 degree weather.

I proddie raced mine. We had to keep it stock although we could fit rearsets (which we needed as it would ground the pegs too easily). I rode to the circuit, raced it and then rode it home. I remember that when I rode home, I was still in race mode and passed every other bike on the road including the big multicylinder bikes. The other road users thought I was a nutter - which I probably was.

Lovely. I owned a 77 Tiger Export in 1977 when I was working as a mechanic at Paul Smarts Kawasaki/Triumph Dealership in Paddock Wood, Kent. PKT464S. Lovely machine and so less fussy than a T140.

I still don't understand putting digital gauges on modern classics. We like modern classics because they are newer and more reliable but mostly because of the way they look. A digital gauge ruins the vibe of modern classics.

Yes forgot to mention that as a negative. I can see the feel that conventional instruments give to a machine such as this.

My father served in the British Army and he was CO of the Royal Signals motorcycle display team 'White Helmets' in the mid 1970s. They used Triumph Tiger 750s as their main rides and they also had two Triumph Adventurers / Trophy Trials for the jump tricks. I remember the brutal sound that those bikes used to make when I would sometimes watch them practicing displays in Catterick as a young child.

My bike is now done.. WOW what a difference in ride ability. It's like having a brand new bike. Thank you for your review as it's worth every penny. My bike is completely standard, so i wasn't chasing bhp or torque, although I got more of both in the mid range. It's now a dream to ride. No snatch from the throttle. Yamaha should have done this from the factory.. just ashame they are restricted by silly emission restrictions. Amazing difference.👍
