‘Lonesome Town’ touched me when I was a kid. He was my favorite singer from when I was very young. He was my childhood idol.

Rick I could listen to you all day and all nite. You have so much talent and all those good looks you have. How lucky your pretty little wife was to have a sweet guy like you to look at when you got home. I’m sure it was hard on her letting you go on the road and be away from you days at a time. Keep singing with the angels in heaven. Bless you and all your family that’s with you now. Rest good Rick

Sweet voice, charming guy, handsome, talented & loved. We used to have karge posters of him in shops around and in Guyana, South America. Beautiful photos with signatures. ❤

I really wish that Rick and Dean Martin could’ve gotten together for an album. I loved that duet my rifle, my pony and me who knows maybe they are singing together with Glen Campbell playing guitar and Duke Wayne, sitting there listening to them with a big smile on his face.

This was a very nice tribute. Im only 45 and am just discovering Ricky Nelson and Ozzie and Harriet. It was such a sweet and wholesome show and Ricky was almost ethereal in his beauty. Especially in the years between 18 and 30. Ozzie was also very handsome in his day. They had that classic Old Hollywood "Clark Gable" type of handsomeness. Tall with a strong jawline, beautiful eyes and eyelashes and thick hair.

He was unbelievably handsome. It's like everyone knew that but him. He was shy like a nerdy high school kid with thick glasses.. He clearly had no idea how gorgeous he was. It's both a good and bad thing. Do you ever ask anyone that knew him why was he so shy in person?h He seemed so self conscience for some eason.

Ricky had the thickest hair ive ever seen on a man in my life. And the most beautiful long dark eyelashes. She made a good point about women wanting to "mother" him. He had that personality that made a woman want to take care of him.

I watched their TV show as a very young girl in the '50's. I always thought that Ricky was a hunk & loved listening to him sing & play guitar. I believe he was the one to motivate my interest in the guitar, which is still a big part of my adulthood today 2024. xoxo

Great interview, except that the speed slows down somewhere around 18.00, then the speech becomes very laboured and difficult to hear. Hope it can be fixed.

DAvid and his wife June owned a summer house a block down the street from us in Newport Shores, Newport Beach, CA in the mid-60s. Never saw him, but my mom talked to June. I was 11 and knew more about Ricky than him at the time.

Led Zeppelin, the great Rock group, were performing at a major venue, when they heard the news of Ricky's death. Their singer announced that fact to the audience, and rather tearfully, broke into a version of "Lonesome Town"--which happens to be my favorite of all of Rick Nelson's tunes. Rick Nelson was an inspiration to many other artists!
