@@ericcrawford3453 James was unique with a very great style . I really feel that Rick would have had a major comeback if he had not have been killed . I know he was doing fine , but his writing style was actually a little ahead of its time and would have gained popularity just a few years later .and his great vocal style was ageless .

James is a true friend and gentleman of Rick’s. Only true honesty from him throughout this interview. Amazing to hear about Rick’s shyness with people.

Jeg har alltid likt Ricky Nelson helt fra jeg var ung. Jeg er født 4 år etter Ricky Nelson. Jeg syntes det var trist da jeg så på TV at en av de fineste artistene jeg har hørt.hilsen Siv Aassved

In an interview from 2015 that I read of James Burton, he said that he lived with Rick & the family for about 6 months in the beginning when he first started playing with Rick! He had nothing but great things to say about them & said he felt like Rick was like a brother! - AP ?

Such a great interview. A fan of Rick’s since his first records and before. Glad you are working to clear the media story. I have covered his songs since the 60’s. I learned to sing listening to him.

Thanks James for helping clear our Rick Nelson life. These idiots should have looked at this sweet looking guy and no that wasn’t true. You and Rick sure made a handsome pair togeather and y’all’s music couldn’t be touched by anyone else

Great interview from someone that knew Rick as well as anyone could......Rick is one of the few entertainers that showed everything in his singing and style....he was in my view genuine.....something you can't say too often....I have no doubts he was laid back and kind....that was his persona.....about the media spreading the drug abuse line.....we now know it was not true , his accident had nothing to due with free basing or drug use.....but as we all know, when you fall prey to our corrupt media, it's very hard to clear you name when they have an agenda.....especially if you are gone, and can't fight back.....RIP Rick your music lives on and your talent will never be forgotten.

I like that Rick did what he liked later on instead of following the crowd which was at times very dark! He seemed to stay true to himself! I admire that. Integrity!

I love Ricky's rock n' Roll recordings, and Ricky could sing country as well as anyone. I think he would have been a great country recording star. The album he did "Bright Lights and Country Music" with the title song written by Bill Anderson, Ricky covered a number of great country recordings that were as good as the originals.

A story I never heard before .....Ricky shows up with the Rams against Elvis' "big boys" football team...that's hilarious hahahahaha...I wish I could have seen the look on their faces when the Rams show up with Ricky...esp guys like Red West....and I hope David was there to enjoy that.

Certainly takes a back seat to no one as a musician. Saw James perform at Lulu's with Jerry Lee in 80's. Don't know what was said to him by Lewis but you could see James was not happy. So he proceeded to pick solos thru Jerry's vocals and believe me he outperformed Jerry that night Listening to him talk about Rick the only person I can think of who might be as nice and good person is James.

John Powers, have you seen: ‘The Nelson Twins with James Burton’ on YT from 2005? It’s really wonderful to see...just in case you haven’t! Says it’s on a CD! It’s a short clip of It’s Late & I Believe! 😊♥️

Thanks for sharing this! Great! May you can tell an european boy me who was this nice radio guy who made this good interview with James Burton… John…? And which Radio Station was it in 1987? Thanks for an answer! :) R.I.P. Ricky Nelson!

At the end of Remembering Ricky Part 6 it says John Powers in the drop down menu. In a comment, in the middle of the Parts, I think, a lady commenter recognized this man & May have said from which station, but I can’t fully recall. I think he was a DJ out of Chicago, Illinois for an oldies radio station.
