i love the xfm podcasts, and so much of what karl says is actually so legit, but the way he asticulates might not be so clear and its easy to mock. he talks more sense than the vast majority of podcast guests. like when ricky questioned him about the water filter "if its not getting through its not getting through"..rubbish! of course you change filters! Or, thinking in sentences..not everyone thinks so conceptually, loads of people think in sentences. The coffee that is eaten then excreted then sold...absolutely true. So much of what he says is just genuine, but its a little ill-informed, bit embellished. lol. I could write a book on the dynamic of those 3 lol

When people are in a doctor's waiting room, they won't look at each other. But they will look at a small child or a dog - because they are more interesting than anyone else. Why? Because they have no filter - you are just watching them live in the moment. It is the authenticity and everything that comes with it that makes them interesting. Karl shares that lack of filter. He is so honest and seems not to care at all what people think of him - I envy him for that. I don't think he is stupid, I think he is very smart, but there are areas where he seems to be amusingly lacking in knowledge and comprehension - which is very relatable. Most people are the same, but are too self-conscious to let anyone know.

Karl is great. He’s his own person. He also reminds me of an old friend of mine, who was also his own man, and had trouble figuring out if he enjoyed things… and said his doctor diagnosed him with anhedonia.

1:18:41 I find it annoying, that Ricky and Steve criticize Karl's ideas for helping those who are in need, yet aren't giving any ideas or solutions for the problems themselves. If they are going to criticize, at least offer a better solution.

Hey Ricky, good to see you. I feel your pain. I have torn rotator cuffs on both sides (right side repaired, sort of) which is problematic as I paint people's houses. It was 14 months of recovery with therapy post surgery. Thank goodness that all the medical care was on Canada's Medicare system. Still, 14 months with no income wiped me out. 16 years later and a divorce and I still have not financially recovered. I appreciate that you give me a laugh now and again.

"He's never gonna be a high flyer." I guess that gives you a great idea of the value of the education system and the shite the were shoving down your throat. I was born in the 60's and the U.S. and early in school teachers were always sitting me in the corner because the science they were teaching, I called them out on, "That makes NO sense!" *Alright, get in the corner* Now I've learned about quantum physics, I'm like, SEE?! I knew it!
