you guys should have a spare gas motor on board, like a small one just incase you get stranded when that plastic prop or shear pin snaps

you need to have a stick across the bottom like you have on the top

That would have helped, but we're in the process of trying another version. Stay tuned!

Looks good to me, but coming from someone in a high humidity state (GA), you are going to want to cover exposed wood with varnish (poly) or a good coat of paint of gloss with some antifungal ability to it. Wood will mold up quick in hot humid weather in a weather tight compartment, and it is easier to clean up when you open beer(I mean Juice of course) bottles or cans that may spill on surfaces.

Kind of depressing that they got the government involved. When I was a kid, critters like that were either adopted or shot - sometimes both, in succession.

Adding a second motor and spreading them out on transom will give u much better maneuverability. You can then steer it using just the throttles like a zero turn mower or tank.
@MoneyPitBoating6 күн бұрын
That'd be awesome, but out of our budget at the moment!

Without having watched this... Don't take this on the Mississippi! Pontoons too small. Cabin not "seaworthy" next to the waves caused by the barges. OK, watching the vid.. Newbies. DUH, Marine Poly coating on wood. Say no more. But yeah, good to see some exploring basic concepts to enable their dreams.

How did you get three arrays out of 10 panels maybe I didn't phrase that correctly but how do you need three controllers for 10 panels?
@MoneyPitBoating10 күн бұрын
Great question! It's actually split into 2 arrays into 2 48 volt mppt charge controllers. 1 4 panel and 1 6 panel. The 3rd charge controller is from our old 12 volt systems, which we kept on board in case we got into a jam, which happens often!
