As a rule, I have found the Asiatic breeds more likely, the Mediterraneans least likely. Have never seen a bantam hen that would not go broody. The Black Australorp have a higher tendency amongst standard chickens as well. Great and informative video. Thanks.

We've had two basenjis. They were very easy to potty train. Take him out first thing in the morning, and walk him until he pees. Then feed him and take him out immediately, as eating stimulates digestion. They will usually start circling when they have to go, so watch for this and have the leash ready. Always use a leash during the training period. Keep him confined to a small area of the house where you are. If you're in the kitchen, keep him there. If you're in another room, keep him there with you. Take him for frequent walks on his leash, until he pees, then say the command as he is peeing. We said, "Go pee-pee," repeatedly as he was actually peeing. Give a small treat and praise. Each time you walk him, give the command. Basenjis are smart and will catch on quickly but you must be attentive and consistent during the training period. Soon he will go over to the door when he needs to go out.

You did not mention a lot of things you could have mentioned, so research your facts correctly and don't be sloppy when disseminating information to others. Make a quality video. For example: When making a 2 min video, don't give an intro, dive right in. It is too short for an intro about what you are going to say. Breed originated in 1922-23 and standardized in 1930. Not 1900's. Unless you include the whole century. It is not an ancient breed, it is relatively recent. An ancient breed goes back to 1500, like the Cream Brabanter. The egg flavor is no different from any other egg taste, regardless of the shell coloring. Don't assume that from color. Did you know there are only two egg shell colors: white and blue? Everything else is a pigment color over the blue or white egg shell. All the brown eggs are really white eggs with a pigment layer at the very end. The pigment can be scrubbed off if freshly laid! The Welsummer are auto sexed chicks. This means, the male and female are marked differently at birth, making it easy to select one or the other, no guess work. Many breeds are not. This is important when selling chicks. Day old Welsummer chicks can also be autosexed by appearance. Female hatchlings have darker lines near their eyes and on top of their head than males. Mention this. 2:17 - These are not Welsummer chicks who have a dark stripe. Fake photo - again. The rooster temperament is medium aggression, not a docile type of male. This is important to mention too. Nasty roosters do not play nice with humans and other animals and no one wants them despite their lovely plumage. This breed temperament is slightly aloof not friendly. They don't seek you out or follow you. They don't sit in your lap. They keep to themselves and like to forage all day. You are right about them being intelligent and playing nice with others. What is the egg production exactly? 150 - 200 eggs per year. This is a moderate amount, as high layers do over 300 eggs annually. So your facts are incorrect here. These are not production layers but produce specialty speckled brown eggs. 2:13 - These eggs are from Copper Marans Chickens, a French breed. This is misrepresentation. Not good. You have to be accurate in your reporting and pics must be truthful or you spread wrong information. This is your responsibility when making a documentary or demo film. It is just as easy to find a photo with speckled brown eggs, no? They need less food as they are excellent foragers. Foragers will eat every buy in your yard. A bonus. Mention this. Noise level - They do chatter the better part of the day. They also sound off when agitated or excited. The rooster is rather loud. Do they like hot weather, cold weather? Their flat, silken feathers protect like glossy raincoats, making them great for cool, wet, or maritime climates. Mention this. Welsummer chickens are more prone to aerial attacks by hawks and predators due to their partridge-like appearance in coloring. So they need aerial cover more than other chickens. For example, hawks don't like to attack black chickens like Ayam Cemani, or Australorps because they look like crows and crows unite to bully the hawks back. An important fact. I hope I gave you some good ideas on making informational videos. Don't be sloppy. Don't be lazy on collecting data. Be accurate and exact at all times. Increase the sum of human knowledge with your content, don't pollute it with wrong facts. Speak clearly and articulate every word. This happens because we think much faster than we speak. You have to slow down and enunciate clearly so everyone in the audience hears you clearly if you are going to be a narrator. Toastmasters is a free club you can join to polish public speaking skills. Remember, the harshest critics are the best teachers. Keep on making videos! Good job.

Rhode island reds are an excellent breed. But they are the dumb blondes of the chicken world. They are very friendly specially if you work with him but if you want to breed them you better get incubators because they don’t get broody.
