Nice job. I appreciate you. I have a 7 month old rooster and 2 hens. The rooster is extremely loyal and can be cuddly. God bless this world's messes

Rhode island reds are an excellent breed. But they are the dumb blondes of the chicken world. They are very friendly specially if you work with him but if you want to breed them you better get incubators because they don’t get broody.

They are not chickens then are hens or called chooks

Here's the truth about the Rhode Island red it used to be all those things you said in the video but unfortunately it's not no more it's been over bread they have low immune systems and to make it worse they lay eggs until it kills them and because of their color and they're low immune systems the external parasites head in right for them the bird is noisy but if you take the time to rebuild the bird add a couple of breeds in to it and then breed back to the standard now that's where you'll find more of the old type of Rhode Island red they need their immune system worked on. I understand there's three different kinds of Rhode Island Reds you have your heritage dual-purpose and your egg layers.

What other breeds do you typically add to the modern Rhode Island Red to boost its immune system and take it back to the old style?

I loved your video it was on point it's a great breed you have to start somewhere probably the best breed in the world it just needs a little work done to it I've got a couple of experiments going on just trying to revive the breed I'm using the brown leghorn and some other Bloodlines with New Hampshire's crossed into it and then another experiment with the Egyptian fayoumi
