The poms used the term chips first and the yanks should respect that. Fries is a dumb word. Also, the yanks used the term chips first and the poms should respect that. Crisps is another dumb word.

Do you have any suggestions for preventing or getting rid of that oily smell that you get after deep-frying? I want to deep fry, but I don't want my apartment to smell like oil for a week after.
@Dreyno
@Dreyno 3 сағат бұрын
You need good extraction. One with at least 30/40 litres per second of installed over cooking surface.
@adamilsley
@adamilsley 2 сағат бұрын
@@Dreyno The extractor over my stove doesn’t even vent out of the room, so that’s probably not possible. I’ll just limit deep frying to once or twice a year so I’ll save this video for then. Thank you!

@@adamilsley I’ve made passable chips in an airfryer. Doesn’t create the same smell around the house. Not as good but not bad. Worth experimenting with.

Apparently if you add some vinegar to water in a saucepan and maybe a few drops of tea tree oil or a cinnamon stick/powder and boil it for 10 mins it can get rid of the smell of deep frying. Not sure if it breaks it down or just masks it though. I've never done it because I like the smell of fryers; it reminds me of crispy triple cooked chips.

Absolutely love this Poppy! So glad you’ve finally come to YT, especially as a KZbinr myself! 😜 I can sense a Nigella edge with your commentary. So inspiring to me. Keep up the great work. James

I'd never use vegetable oil, it's awful and really, really bad for your health. Use a good quality oil or fat chook.
