You literally removed everything that made it a Playstation 1 lol. This clickbait vid should have been titled "I gutted my PS1 and used it's shell for a Raspberry Pi project!" It's an interesting vid and a cool idea. Obvious skills with a soldering iron and understanding of electronics.. The clickbait title just irks the hell out of me.

It hurts to watch. I like the sound effects you added tho they make it way less pain to watch Also this part 6:45 u left a big question What is your idea? 7:05 this effect is awful 8:43 why so quiet the entire time 9:07 makes me as a viewer feel like you think im stupid lol 9:56 id recommend removing the audio here and just be talking I hope you dont get this comment wrong its just what i saw what you could do better. I hope this comment reaches you at all lol For the rest of the video LOVE IT ^^

While I'm not saying this isn't an awesome build, I always thought an unneeded phone would make a better processor than a Pi. Maybe the software isn't quite there yet? I'm just saying, and not critiquing.

Motorstorm was such an underrated racing game. Graphics looked amazing, gameplay was fun, and the destruction physics when your vehicle exploded from too much boost was so cool, watching springs and wheels and components flying everywhere
@CF-Builds13 күн бұрын
When I was a kid, my mom took me to work with her at Target because she didn't have a sitter for me and they had the video game demo kiosks there.. I played the Motorstorm demo for hours almost every day on that demo unit just crashing the cars and stuff 😭 Such good times!

I like that you used an original controller and just cleaned it up. I have one of those converter dongles that I use for my Logitech wireless PS2 controller so I can play games with an emulator using it. It works better than the cheapo Android gamepad that I usually use. As for game suggestions, all of the FF series, 1 through 9 and Tactics as well. You might not be able to get a PS2 emulator working on that, but if you can, I'd add 10 through 12.

@CF-Builds15 күн бұрын
I basically just connected the pi's power adapter signal wire (the green wire) between the posts on the power switch, so when the switch is pressed, the circuit is complete and the power adapter receives the signal to send power to the pi. It is shown at 5:30 (:

could you tell a little more about the OS? a link or a discription. You just mention it for a second.....
@CF-Builds13 күн бұрын
The OS is called Recalbox, it's basically an alternative to RetroPi, it's a Linux distribution that comes pre-installed with almost every emulator and a nice front end UI for navigating your games (: I'll update the description with a link to the Recalbox page 😁

A drawer is not a new thing or an original design. That’s not the treasure of this video. The treasure is having things you need to store, and instead of finding an existing place to store them, which many of us are completely out of, you converted empty air to storage space. Consider putting out another edit if you feel like experimenting 😊

Shouldn't you have modded a broken ps1 instead of a working one? Original retro tech is irreplaceable
@CF-Builds17 күн бұрын
Believe it or not, it was cheaper to buy a working one with all the stuff included because most of the broken console listings were the console only. The motherboard and CD components were sold as working replacement parts, so really there was no loss (:

@CF-Builds7 күн бұрын
@@DmitriyDarkJoney I'd argue that it has more value now because I can play all of my retro games on one console. 😁 Also, it's not like a PS1 is a rare hard to come by relic. They were mass produced and still easily available for under $60 complete. (;

If you used some 90 / 180 degree USB cables then you could move the Pi closer to the center of the case, enabling you to have access to the SD card from the disc lid.
@CF-Builds19 күн бұрын
I'm planning on doing a follow up to this video where I'm most likely going to make an SD card slot/USB port extension into the disc tray as one of the upgrades (:

@@CF-Builds oh now that's a cool idea!! You have to revisit it someday! I just watched a video from macho nacho about a custom portable PS1, and using a small (or slightly larger) screen like he used would be fantastic.
